Anthony Taylor blows the whistle and brings a miserable afternoon for Sunderland to an end, but what a day for Palace!
90' +3
WHAT A STRIKE FROM VAN AANHOLT! Another crisp move from the hosts sees the ball fall to the left-back and his volley is just about tipped onto the bar by Speroni. That was heading for the top corner!
90' +1
We're into the first of three added minutes at the end of this game.
90'
C. Wickham has scored a goal for Sunderland! Assist by P. van Aanholt.
SUNDERLAND HAVE A CONSOLATION AND CONNOR WICKHAM DESERVES HIS GOAL! Van Aanholt and Defoe play a neat one-two with the latter's cross being volleyed in by Wickham. It doesn't mean anything today but will definitely be a positive for Sunderland going forward.
87'
That just sums up Defoe and Sunderland's day. Frustrated, he tries his luck from 30 yards but sends it flying into the stands. His effort is greeted by sarcastic cheers from the away fans.
85'
There just five minutes to play here and Sunderland will just want the referee to blow the whistle now. They need to dust themselves off as quickly as possible - they're not safe from relegation just yet.
83'
That was a vital touch from Rodwell. Palace hit Sunderland on the counter once more and Puncheon looked to find Zaha and Murray at the far post, but Rodwell made up a lot of ground to flick the ball to safety.
81'
Southampton are also staking their claim for fifth place and are taking advantage with Tottenham losing to Aston Villa. Graziano Pelle's just put them 2-0 up against Hull and they'll stay fifth if Liverpool fail to beat Newcastle on Monday.
79'
Elsewhere, Leicester City are showing their fighting spirit after coming from behind against West Bromwich Albion for the second time today. Robert Huth has got the equaliser.
77'
O'Shea has had a very disappointing afternoon. He has played in all 38 of Sunderland's matches in all competitions this season, but he'll be lucky to make it 39 after today's performance.
Minute
Description
75'
Two Sunderland players down at the moment in Pantilimon and Bridcutt, after the keeper came out to collect a cross and caught his team mate in the face.
73'
As it stands, Palace are heading into the top half of the table with Stoke City losing at West Ham. That really is amazing given the fact that they were in the bottom three when Pardew took over.
71'
Y. Sanogo enters the game and replaces Y. Bolasie.
Palace are making a change and Bolasie is being given a breather by his manager. It's been another brilliant performance by the winger and Yaya Sanogo comes on in his place.
70'
Well, so much can change in just a week of Football. Nobody wanted to leave the Stadium of Light last weekend and this, they cannot get away quickly enough.
69'
J. Ledley enters the game and replaces J. McArthur.
68'
Bolasie is a player much to be admired and not just for his dynamic forward play. He has just had his legs clipped by Bridcutt, but he does everything in his power to stay on his feet where most players would have gone down and allowed his opponent to be shown a yellow card.
67'
J. McArthur gets yellow.
66'
It really is incredible just how good Palace look on the counter! Puncheon bursts at the defence and finds Bolasie who helps the ball onto McArthur, but Pantilimon does well to beat his volley away.
65'
L. Bridcutt enters the game and replaces L. Cattermole.
64'
That is very wise management from Advocaat as he takes off Cattermole and replaces him with Liam Bridcutt. Cattermole's passion is very susceptible to boil over in this situation and that is sensible from the Sunderland boss.
62'
Y. Bolasie has scored a goal for Crystal Palace! Assist by G. Murray.
IT'S FOUR AND BOLASIE HAS HIS HAT-TRICK!! And it's the same story for Sunderland as O'Shea fails to deal with a launched ball down the field. Murray beats him to it and finds Bolasie, who rounds Pantilimon and regains his footing before slotting home.
61'
Cattermole has to be careful and Mr Taylor has let him off there. He is already on a yellow card and commits a professional foul on Zaha, and is lucky not to receive a second. The referee has given him the benefit of the doubt.
59'
A. Johnson enters the game and replaces Jordi Gómez.
Sunderland are clinging on here! Zaha cleverly spins away from his marker as he makes his way into the box and cuts the ball back for Murray, whose shot takes a deflection and is gathered by Pantilimon.
57'
Murray should have shot then! Palace come forward and work the ball to Murray on the right hand side of the box and he cuts inside, but opts to pass rather than shoot for goal. That was too unselfish!
55'
Well, it was a tight game at the beginning of the half. Within 10 minutes, Palace have scored three times and have pulled away from Sunderland. The home fans have seen enough and, just six days after derby delight, they are already heading for the exits.
53'
Y. Bolasie has scored a goal for Crystal Palace! Assist by M. Jedinak.
DON'T RUB YOUR EYES - IT'S 3-0! Bolasie gets his second in the space of two minutes as he runs onto another long ball, and outmuscles O'Shea before delicately lifting it over Pantilimon and into the net. Palace are in dreamland!
51'
Y. Bolasie has scored a goal for Crystal Palace! Assist by G. Murray.
2-0 PALACE AND IT'S BOLASIE! Out of nowhere they've doubled their lead and the Stadium of Light is stunned. Dann's long ball is flicked on once more by Murray, and Bolasie races beyond the Sunderland back line to poke it past Pantilimon.
50'
The appointment of Pardew has sparked Murray's Palace career back into life. He hasn't been too involved today but stepped up when his side needed him.
48'
G. Murray has scored a goal for Crystal Palace!
PALACE HAVE THE BREAKTHROUGH AND IT'S WHO ELSE... GLENN MURRAY!! He really is a rejuvenated striker! He won the initial header from a long ball downfield, and peeled away at the far post to nod home Bolasie's deflected cross.
46'
Sunderland get us going once again!
45' +4
Mr Taylor blows his whistle and that's the end of the first half.
45' +2
The battles on the wings have been very interesting so far between Zaha and Van Aanholt and Bolasie and Jones. The Sunderland full-backs are holding their own so far and cannot afford to slacken off.
45'
We are going to have four minutes in the end of this first half.
44'
Fletcher is in there again with the volley going straight at Speroni from Van Aanholt's cross. Interestingly, his last goal came against Palace in the 3-1 win at Selhurst Park back in November.
42'
Defoe flicks on Wickham's pass for Fletcher to run onto, but Speroni is off his line quickly to prevent the Sunderland striker from getting to the ball first.
39'
WHY WEREN'T PALACE WAITING TO POUNCE?! Puncheon gets into the area after a quick corner exchange with Zaha, but nobody is there to finish his ball across the box. What a waste of a decent opportunity that was from the visitors.
37'
End to end stuff! Sunderland go straight down the other end with Wickham finding Jones in acres of space on the right hand side. His dangerous cross is waiting to be finished, but Dann makes a vital interception to deny the hosts.
36'
Bolasie bursts forward for Palace down the left hand side. He is forced to the byline but gets his cross in, and Cattermole has to step in to tidy things up for Sunderland before clearing.
35'
M. Kelly enters the game and replaces P. Souaré.
34'
He took a heavy blow to the thigh earlier on in an innocent challenge with Jones. He's being helped from the field now, with Kelly taking his place.
32'
Souare looks like he is struggling out there. He's limping around and appears to be in some discomfort. Alan Pardew has sent Martin Kelly to warm up for the visitors.
30'
As we approach the half-hour mark, it has been a fairly decent game so far. All that has really been missing is a goal, but there are plenty of players on the pitch who are capable of providing the breakthrough.
28'
What Sunderland are doing very well, and have been since the appointment of Dick Advocaat, is the way they press the ball high up the pitch. This makes things very difficult for their opponents and forces mistakes more often than not.
26'
Another reason for Palace being confident in their chances this afternoon is the fact that they have only lost once on the road in the whole of 2015 so far.
24'
L. Cattermole gets yellow.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, West Ham are 1-0 up against Stoke City while West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City are locked at 1-1. The remaining 3.00 kick-offs are currently goalless.
22'
It's not very often that these sides face off in consecutive seasons, with either being promoted or relegated from the respective division. In fact, this is the first time since the 1986/87 season that the sides have faced off in back-to-back campaigns.
20'
Having been on the backfoot for the opening stages of the contest, Palace are arguably just edging things at the moment. They have grown into the match and look threatening going forward.
18'
S. Dann gets yellow.
We have another break in play here. Pantilimon is down holding his face and receiving attention from the medical team. Replays show he accidentally collided with Dann as they both challenged for the ball. The Palace man is wrongly booked though by the referee - that's two questionable calls already!
16'
J. Rodwell gets yellow.
OUCH! POOR CHALLENGE FROM RODWELL! He's lucky to stay on the pitch too as he left the ground in his tackle on McArthur, which leaves the Palace man rolling around in agony. Referee Anthony Taylor opts to show Rodwell just a yellow card.
14'
OFF THE LINE BY VERGINI! Sunderland appear to have Bolasie under control after he receives the ball in the box but, in a split second, he turns and flashes it across the area. The Sunderland centre-half is in the right place, though, to clear the danger.
13'
Well, that was a waste! Puncheon dummies the ball and leaves it for Jedinak to strike. The Palace skipper sends it straight into the wall though, before playing a sloppy pass that goes behind for a goal kick.
11'
Palace have their first meaningful phase of possession and they are awarded a free kick after Gomez brings down Zaha on the edge of the penalty area. They look so dangerous on the counter attack.
9'
The Black Cats are enjoying some nice spells of play with the ball so far, but they haven't been able to produce anything threatening in the final third as of yet.
7'
Possibly still inspired by their derby win, Sunderland have began this game on top and have settled into their rhythm very quickly. Palace have hardly seen the ball in all fairness.
5'
It's been quite a fast start to this game from both sides. The wind is very noticeable at the moment too, the corner flag has nearly been blown out!
3'
A draw for Palace today would be enough to take them to the magic 40-point mark. More often than not, this is the safety barrier for most sides in the Premier League.
Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE text commentary of the Barclays Premier League. We're at the Stadium of Light today as Sunderland take on Crystal Palace. I'm Jonathan Davies and I'll be guiding you through the action.
The teams are in and the single Sunderland alteration from their Tyne-Wear derby victory is forced, as Jack Rodwell comes in for Seb Larsson who begins his two-match suspension. Palace have made two changes from their win over Manchester City. Captain Mile Jedinak returning from a four-match ban and Pape Souare is also back in the starting 11, with Joe Ledley and Martin Kelly dropping to the bench.
It's 15th against 11th this afternoon and Palace will be favourites as they look to make it four consecutive wins. Victory over Newcastle was Sunderland's first in eight and they'll be aiming to pull away from the relegation zone.
The teams are out and kick off is just moments away!
HALF TIME - SUNDERLAND 0 CRYSTAL PALACE 0
It may be goalless but is has been a fairly decent game so far. Both sides have played very much to their strengths with Sunderland producing typically high work rate levels, while Palace are dangerous on the counter attack.
Today's other games in the Barclays Premier League have produced just seven goals. Swansea and Everton played out a 1-1 draw in the earlier kick off, while West Brom are 2-1 up against Leicester. Aston Villa are 1-0 up at Tottenham, as are West Ham against Stoke. Southampton and Hull are goalless at the moment.
The teams are back out and the second half is imminent!
FULL TIME - SUNDERLAND 1 CRYSTAL PALACE 4
After a goalless first half, the match burst into life in the second. A 10-minute hat-trick from Yannick Bolasie put the game beyond Sunderland after Glenn Murray had opened the scoring for Palace who move onto 42 points. Connor Wickham's consolation is the only positive that Sunderland will take from today.
And that's it from the Stadium of Light. Thank you for following the LIVE action - hope you've enjoyed it. I've been Jonathan Davies and until next time, have a very good weekend!
