Three of four added minutes of elapsed and it doesn't look like Newcastle are going to find an equaliser. Another disappointing day for the Magpies.
90'
There will be four minutes of added time.
88'
Having been in a position of such command, Newcastle now look like going home with nothing, this will be a gut-wrenching defeat for Alan Pardew and the travelling fans.

N. Ranger enters the game and replaces P. Cissé.
86'
S. Ameobi enters the game and replaces V. Anita.
85'
C. Jerome has scored a goal for Stoke City! Assist by K. Jones.
The crowd had only just settled following that leveller and now Stoke have the lead. Kenwyne Jones does brilliantly to control a long ball forward before laying it off to Cameron Jerome, who fires the ball into the bottom of net and past Tim Krul.

J. Walters has scored a goal for Stoke City! Assist by C. Jerome.
Stoke have their reward for a good period of pressure and it is Jon Walters who has levelled for the home side. The Irishman latching on to a wonderful cross from Michael Kightly to power a header into the top corner and send the Britannia Stadium into raptures.
79'
Decent chance for Stoke as Jones heads straight at Krul from an Etherington cross. The Potters are refusing to give up.
77'
Begovic to the rescue as he denies Ba with a good save with his legs after Geoff Cameron had lost possession in the midfield.
Minute
Description
75'
Jon Walters shows fantastic commitment to chase a poor ball down the left and win a corner after the ball gets a touch off Mike Williamson. The resulting set-piece is defended excellently by Coloccini however, and Newcastle clear.
72'
Newcastle have weathered the storm and it is only their fans making any noise at the moment. Their side look very comfortable at present.
69'
Stoke are enjoying a good spell of possession at the moment and are pressing well inside the Newcastle half. Alan Pardew's men are defending well however, and do not look like conceding at this moment.
68'
C. Jerome enters the game and replaces M. Etherington.
67'
M. Kightly enters the game and replaces C. Adam.
66'
A good chance for Stoke as Walters' fierce drive is well saved by Krul, the Republic of Ireland international latches on to the rebound but can only fire well wide.
64'
Stoke are huffing and puffing but it is Newcastle who look the more likely to add a second goal, Cisse breaks free of the defence and forces an excellent stretching save from Begovic. That could have been victory secured for the Magpies.
61'
Bit of a break play here as James Perch receives treatment following a collision with Kenwyne Jones. Replays show that the striker may have caught the Newcastle midfielder with an elbow and may be a little lucky not to have received a caution at the very least.
59'
G. Cameron gets yellow.
58'
The Stoke fans are beginning to sound frustrated, the Potters have not created many goalscoring chances and that will need to change sooner rather than later.
55'
This game has completely changed since the goal, Stoke have suddenly found a sense of urgency while Newcastle are eager to add a second goal. Ba fires another strike towards goal which is well held by Begovic.
52'
Chance for Stoke as Jon Walters heads wide from a Matthew Etherington cross. This is suddenly a much more open contest.
50'
Stoke have responded well to going behind and have the visitors penned deep inside their own half. Can Newcastle stand firm?
47'
P. Cissé has scored a goal for Newcastle United!
We're just minutes into the second period and Newcastle have the lead. Demba Ba's shot from distance is fumbled by Begovic and Papiss Cisse is there to react and slot past the Stoke keeper from point-blank range. The away fans celebrate in typically raucous fashion.
46'
The second half is underway.
45'
There will be three minutes of added time.
42'
The introduction of Kenwyne Jones has had no impact on the game, I imagine half-time will be widely cheered by both sets of fans.
40'
K. Jones enters the game and replaces P. Crouch.
39'
Crouch is withdrawn and replaced by former Sunderland man Kenwyne Jones, who receives a chorus of boos from the Newcastle fans.
37'
Still nothing of note has really happened 37 minutes into this game. However, Peter Crouch may be about to come off after going down injured in a challenge with Fabricio Coloccini.
34'
Not the greatest advert for Premier League football this, very few chances on not much in the way of quality football. Matthew Etherington wins a corner after latching onto a great ball from Ryan Shotton but Stoke cannot take advantage.
31'
The visitors are just edging possession so far in this contest, but neither side seems to possess much in the way of creativity. A goal does not appear to be forthcoming.
28'
C. Adam gets yellow.
Ironic cheers from the Newcastle fans as Charlie Adam is booked for a foul on Jonas Gutierrez, the resulting free kick falls to nothing.
25'
There doesn't seem to be much atmosphere emanating from the crowd at the Britannia Stadium, but who can blame them, there isn't exactly much happening on the pitch.
22'
Newcastle - to their credit - are much more competitive than they were in their last outing against Southampton. This one has descended into somewhat of a midfield battle which neither team is really winning.
19'
The Potters are starting to take control of this game without creating any real chances, Glenn Whelan curls a free kick well over the bar.
18'
J. Perch gets yellow.
16'
Stoke go close to adding the lead when a Charlie Adam free kick is deflected against the post by Mike Williamson. A let-off for the Magpies.
15'
D. Santon gets yellow.
13'
Not much to report here in north Staffordshire so far. A pretty even game all in all.
10'
A slight concern for Newcastle as Davide Santon goes down with a knock, the Italian quickly recovers however and is back amongst the action.
7'
Newcastle are beginning to gain a foothold in this game, James Perch has had a shot from distance which flew just wide, while Asmir Begovic has been forced into a comfortable close-range save from Vurnon Anita.
4'
Quiet start here at the Britannia Stadium, Stoke have had more of the possession, but have not managed to break down the Newcastle defence as yet.

We are underway at the Britannia Stadium.
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's live coverage of Stoke City vs Newcastle. I'm Nicholas McGee and I'll be taking you through the next 90 minutes as the Potters aim to continue their recent good run against the struggling Magpies.
We are just minutes away from kick-off at the Britannia Stadium, can Newcastle bring their streak of three consecutive defeats to an end?
The teams emerge from the tunnel and are ready for action.
The referee mercifully blows for half-time. Very little of note has happened and both managers will need to inspire their troops if they want to emerge triumphant.
The referee blows for Full Time and Stoke have sealed a hard-fought three points. That defeat will leave a bitter taste in Alan Pardew's side after his side had lead for the majority of the second half. It's four consecutive defeats now for the Magpies and unrest will surely continue to grow.
So that's it from me on a good night for those of a Stoke persuasion. The Potters move into the top half on the back of that win, while Newcastle stay rooted in 14th place. This is Nicholas McGee signing off!
