M. Verratti gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
O. Giroud gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
Verratti is sent off for what appears to be retaliation, but this looks a really harsh one for the Italian, who can hardly believe his luck.
Giroud sent off, rightfully so, for his late challenge.
BOTH TEAMS DOWN TO 10 MEN! Giroud catches Verratti with a late challenge, and it prompts a coming together between the two behind the play. The referee spots it and, with both players on a yellow, he adds to their misery, giving each their marching orders!
90' +2
T. Motta gets yellow.
It wouldn't be a proper football match without a Thiago Motta yellow! The midfielder picks one up midway through stoppage time here for good measure.
90'
There will be four minutes added on at the end of this match. Is there to be another twist in the tale?
88'
O. Giroud gets yellow.
Giroud picks up the third booking of the night, the second for an Arsenal player.
87'
The high tempo has both teams a bit nervous. It looked as though another goal was surely on the horizon, but that's appearing much less likely now as the sting is taken out of the match. A point certainly does the trick for Arsenal, and while it won't appease PSG supporters, defeat would prove to be disastrous.
85'
Mohamed Elneny enters the game and replaces M. Özil.
Mohamed Elneny is the last sub of the night for either sides, coming on for the final five minutes at the expense of Ozil.
84'
T. Meunier enters the game and replaces S. Aurier.
THREE POINTS NEARLY STOLEN! Some finish here in Paris! Arsenal could just as easily be 5-1 down right now, but they're on level terms and they've nearly won it here! Sanchez does well to draw three defenders to him before playing Iwobi through. The winger opens up and tries to curl one in at the far corner, but Areola gets down superbly to get a hand to it!
Final change here for PSG as Thomas Meunier replaces Aurier.
82'
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! There's really no other way to describe that! Cavani gets on the end of a throughball and is off to the races. He looks to round Ospina, but the keeper manages to get a hand in and knock the ball away! He had to time that absolutely perfectly to not concede a penalty, and did just that!
80'
Into the final 10 minutes in Paris and Emery will be feeling the pressure. PSG haven't gone three games in a row without a victory since September 2014. They have 10 minutes to find a winner to tonight and keep that run alive...

Description
79'
J. Pastore enters the game and replaces G. Krychowiak.
PSG make their second change as Javier Pastore enters the fray at the expense of Krychowiak.
77'
A. Sánchez has scored a goal for Arsenal!
GOOOOOAL! PARITY IN PARIS! Terrific goalkeeping from Areola to deny the initial strike from Iwobi, but the rebound falls for Sanchez who cleverly hits it into the ground, sending it bouncing through a sea of bodies and back in at the near post! Game on at Parc des Princes!
76'
Safe goalkeeping from Ospina! Di Maria and Cavani run through on the counter, with Bellerin and Ospina the last line of defence. The Argentine's attempted pass is deflected by Bellerin, sent back towards goal where Di Maria and Ospina race to get onto it, but the safe hands of the keeper sees him take charge of the situation.
74'
T. Motta enters the game and replaces A. Rabiot.
PSG make their first change of the evening as Thiago Motta comes on to replace Rabiot.
72'
STAT: Since their return to the Champions League in 2012/13, Paris SG have won 17 of their 24 group games (D3 L4).
71'
G. Xhaka enters the game and replaces F. Coquelin.
Granit Xhaka makes his first Champions League appearance for Arsenal, though he's no stranger to the competition from his time with Gladbach. Coquelin goes off to make room.
69'
MADNESS! How's your luck?! Fantastic work initially from Rabiot to run into the final third, but it's a pair of incredibly fortunate deflections that send Cavani through on goal. The striker has only the keeper to beat, but Ospina does brilliantly to rush off his line and make the save!
67'
It's so congested in the final third when Arsenal get forward. PSG are sure to have at least nine men behind the ball at all times when the Gunners are pushing forward, and it's made it so frustrating on the visitors to try and navigate a way through.
65'
SENSATIONAL DEFENDING! Sumptuous build-up play from Arsenal as Sanchez and Iwobi link-up superbly, but a terrific last-ditch sliding challenge from Marquinhos snuffs out the chance at the vital moment! Arsenal showing signs of life here.
63'
O. Giroud enters the game and replaces A. Oxlade-Chamberlain.
There's the change Arsenal have been craving. Is there enough time for Olivier Giroud to make an impact? Certainly seems like it. Oxlade-Chamberlain is off in his place.
62'
STAT: Arsenal are unbeaten in their 12 away games against French clubs in European competition (W8 D4), including winning their last seven.
60'
Careless passing from Arsenal continues to gift PSG possession is some prominent areas. Maxwell whips in a diagonal ball to pick out Di Maria, who again finds himself behind the defence, but this time the offside flag is raised.
58'
Wenger pondering a change or two on the touchline, sensing the need to shake things up a big. Both Perez and Giroud are waiting in the wing, licking their chops at the prospect of being brought on to lead the line. Arsenal desperately need a true number nine up top right now.
56'
Important bit of defending! Koscielny shows good pace to get back and prevent a cross from getting through from the left. Pressure stays on and Di Maria is invited to shoot from 25 yards, but a fearless block from the French centre-half again snuffs out the chance.
54'
SPLIT AT THE SEAMS! Route one football from PSG as a simple ball over the top sends Di Maria through at the end of a delightful run off the back of Koscielny. The Argentine's control, under a bit of pressure from Monreal, lets him down though, as a heavy touch off his knee sends the ball harmlessly behind for a goal-kick.
52'
STAT: PSG and Arsenal's only previous encounter was in the 1993/94 Cup Winners Cup semi-finals. The Gunners won 2-1 on aggregate, including a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes.
50'
Arsenal showing plenty of promise in the early stages of this second half. PSG are dropping deeper and almost inviting the visitors to attack. They had all the momentum heading into the interval, but they're almost volunteering it away now.
48'
Positive start to Arsenal, getting forward straight away in search of an equaliser. A clever cross from Cazorla picks out Sanchez, but Marquinhos does just enough to snuff out the chance. Pressure stays on and Cavani needlessly gives away a free-kick near the corner flag.
46'
Here we go again...
45'
HALF-TIME: PSG 1-0 ARSENAL.
44'
Arsenal are seeing shockingly little of the ball, and that time is decreasing as the half wears on. It's been shockingly scarce for them in the last 10 minutes or so. They desperately need to get this game into the interval with just the one goal conceded.
42'
HE'S DONE IT AGAIN! Stunning delivery over the top from Di Maria to pick out Cavani, who timed his run perfectly to get behind the defence. The striker tries to chest down and hit a half-volley at goal all in one movement, despite having plenty of time, and winds up losing his balance and failing to get a shot off! He's got to be scoring there!
40'
STAT: Last season, PSG conceded only one goal in their six Champions League group games.
38'
OFFSIDE! PSG are so quick to get bodies forward in support of the front three when they break ont he counter. Another enticing move boasts plenty of potential as Arsenal find themselves stretched, but a poorly timed run from Di Maria warrants the offside flag as the Gunners are let off the hook.
36'
Krychowiak is covering a lot of ground in midfield and remains a dominant figure in possession for the hosts. He's pulling the strings in the centre, but also is showing a great ability to run east-west and get into these little pockets of space to help facilitate his side in possession. It's a lovely display from him in midfield.
34'
HE'S MISSED A SITTER! A long, searching throughball should be dealt with by Arsenal, but an ill-advised touch from Monreal takes Koscielny out of the game. It allows Cavani to run onto the end of it and round Ospina, but he fails to put it into the back of the empty net! Unbelievable!
32'
PSG starting to find their legs under them once again. Both sides enjoyed good 15 minute spells, but only PSG have a goal to show for theirs, and now as Arsenal's comes to an end, it looks like its the hosts' turn to come get on the front foot again and try to double their lead.
30'
Aurier has been the hosts' best attacking outlet all night, and he continues to make waves on the overlap when given the chance. He's finding all sorts of space on the right, and Monreal is lining up far too narrow to combat these runs. He desperately needs support from Iwobi.
28'
STAT: PSG have been knocked out in the quarter finals in each of the last four seasons. Their best performance to date is a semi-final in 1994/95 when they were eliminated by AC Milan.
26'
PSG got off to a flyer, but momentum has really evened out since as Arsenal are appearing more settled by the minute. They're looking awfully comfortable on the ball, while doing a much better job of keeping their shape off it, which has prevented the hosts from creating much of anything over the past 10 minutes.
24'
F. Coquelin gets yellow.
Coquelin pleads his case, arguing he won the ball, but the Frenchman goes flying through Motta in doing so and there's no way he's going to avoid a booking there. It's an untimely foul as it ends a prominent spell for the visitors in attack.
23'
VITAL FROM MARQUINHOS! Monreal makes a terrific move down the left and picks out Oxlade-Chamberlain at the far post. The winger heads back across into the danger area, but Marquinhos arrives just ahead of Sanchez and Iwobi to head clear!
21'
Arsenal are missing a true target man atop their lineup, and that's prevented them from troubling PSG much at the back. It's forced the Gunenrs to spend more time playing around with the ball in midfield and at the back, which is getting them into a bit of trouble when the hosts press high up the pitch.
19'
Approaching 20 minutes and the tempo has slowed a fair bit. Arsenal are doing their best to take the sting out of the match, adopting a more patient approach in possession as they look to limit the hosts' time in possession.
17'
STAT: PSG have lost only one of their last 39 home games in European competition (W25 D13), and that was against Barcelona in April 2015 (1-3).
15'
DEFLECTED WIDE! Better from Arsenal on the front foot and it leads to a shooting chance for Iwobi. A deflection leaves Areola wrong-footed, but it deflects beyond the far post. The ensuing corner is inviting, though no one in a red shirt manages to get a decisive touch on it.
13'
SHOULD BE TWO! Dreadful marking from Arsenal as Di Maria is left wide open in the centre to get on the end of the corner, but his header is parried off the line by a diving Ospina! Exceptional reactionary stop by the Arsenal keeper there, to prevent further damage!
12'
Delightful stuff from Aurier! He's having a field day on the flank, giving Monreal all sorts of fits. This time he links up well with Verratti, but has to settle for a corner as the cross is diverted behind by Koscielny.
10'
Arsenal at sixes and sevens in defence! They're starting to look a bit better on the ball, but when PSG get forward and attack, the Gunners are in shambles at the back. Nothing about their organisation is inspiring confidence, and manager Arsene Wenger is looking awfully unsettled on the touchline.
8'
M. Verratti gets yellow.
Verratti, no stranger to a booking, picks one up here earlier than he would have liked. He will be walking a tight line the rest of the way.
7'
STAT: Edinson Cavani's goal was scored after just 42 seconds.
5'
Relentless pressure from PSG as they continue on the ascendency, looking to inflict further damage on a shocked Arsenal outfit. They get forward and win a corner, which is delivered in invitingly towards the far post, but an important defensive touch takes it just away from Marquinhos.
3'
Arsenal are in a more than precarious position at the moment, trailing by a goal and looking incredibly vulnerable, having yet to recover from this disastrous start. This stadium is absolutely rocking, and you can understand why! What a start for the hosts!
1'
E. Cavani has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by S. Aurier.
UNDERWAY IN PARIS! PSG kick-off in their dark blue home strip, attacking from right to left, with Arsenal in their red tops with white trim.
DREAM START FOR PSG! Arsenal left stunned as PSG open the scoring inside a minute! Aurier's run down the right is a penetrating one, and his delivery is even better, picking out Cavani who got behind the two centre-backs before sending a glancing header in at the far post with Ospina rooted to his spot!
Superb delivery from Aurier to provide the assist.
Hello football fans and welcome to Parc des Princes! It’s an absolutely gorgeous night in the French capital as the Champions League kicks-off with PSG playing host to Arsenal!
This should be fun. As if the excitement level wasn’t high enough already for the start of the Champions League, the 2016/17 edition of the competition gets going with a bang tonight! It’s the French champions PSG and perennial participants Arsenal, coming off a second-place finish in the Premier League.
PSG have had little problem expressing just how important Champions League success is to them. Despite cleaning up domestically, Laurent Blanc could not get the job done in Europe and he was given the boot this summer, with Unai Emery in to replace him.
Emery arrives in Paris having won the Europa League in each of the last three seasons with Sevilla. He was brought to Parc des Princes to replicate that success with PSG, but it has not been the happiest of marriages just yet. A 3-0 defeat to Monaco was followed by a lacklustre 1-1 draw with Saint-Etienne on the weekend.
Failure to win today will leave Emery’s seat feeling awfully hot so early in the season, but victory would quickly alleviate the pressure on the Spaniard and renew the honeymoon period.
Arsenal left it late against Southampton, Santi Cazorla’s stoppage-time penalty giving them a 2-1 victory at the Emirates on Saturday. It was an important three points for the Gunners, who picked up just one from their first two matches.
Arsene Wenger’s side advance past the group stage with regularity, and the same should be true this season – although Basel have developed a bit of a reputation as Premier League killers. Arsenal’s problem is they have not advanced past the last-16 in some time.
Finishing first in their group would certainly help their chances of getting a favourable draw in the knockout stage, but they will have to get past PSG to do so – any sort of result from tonight’s match sure to prove a massive boost to their hopes of topping Group A.
Emery makes eight changes to his starting line-up after rotating his team in the Saint-Etienne draw. Thiago Silva returns to his usual spot at centre-half alongside Marquinhos, replacing Presnel Kimpembe, while Alphone Areola gets the nod in goal ahead of Kevin Trapp.
Blaise Matuidi is thrust into a foreign left-wing position, combining with Angel di Maria to flank Edinson Cavani, who leads the line. Serge Aurier, Maxwell, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Adrien Rabiot are also thrust back into the XI tonight, at the expense of Thomas Meunier, Layvin Kurzawa, Thiago Motta and Lucas.
Regular number one keeper Petr Cech drops to the bench for Arsenal as David Ospina starts, while Alexis Sanchez leads the line ahead of both Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud. Alex Iwobi comes in to flank the Chilean, replacing Theo Walcott in an otherwise unchanged starting XI.
Edinson Cavani scored after just 42 seconds as PSG started on a flyer and never looked back. We have seen both sides to the Uruguayan tonight, as a nicely taken goal was followed by two frustrating misses, preventing what could have been a more decisive lead for the hosts at the break. As it is, Arsenal are still in it with a chance, but major adjustments are needed from them at the break.
Alexis Sanchez restored parity for the Gunners after Edinson Cavani opened the scoring after just 42 seconds, while both teams end the match with 10 men. It was a fiery encounter that ended with a bang, but in the end there's no separating these two sides as they open their Champions League campaigns with a point a piece.
That's all for our live coverage from Parc des Princes. Thanks for following along, goodbye!
PSG will feel hard done by, as they could have been well ahead by the time Sanchez found the back of the net, but their lack of sharpness in front of goal is punished as the seat under Unai Emery grows a little hotter.
