A. Vilches enters the game and replaces R. Gutiérrez.
90' +2
Late free-kick opportunity here for Chile, and this must surely be the final attack of the game. Carrasco whips it in, but Jermaine Jones produces an authoritative header to clear. Still time for one more change for Chile, with the goalscorer Gutierrez set to go off.
90'
Á. Sagal enters the game and replaces M. González.
Gonzalez goes off to a standing ovation and cheer, with his two second-half goals turning the game on its head. He deserves the acclaim, his hustle today in the final third has been on another level to everyone else. On comes Zagal for the final stretch.
89'
This is as professional as closing out a game gets from Chile. They're making USA do all the running, and somehow still have the energy to move the ball from side to side with considerable speed.
88'
B. Shea gets yellow.
87'
Even the crowd has gone flat as the match enters its final lap. Chile are doing an excellent job of moving the ball quickly and efficiently enough to keep USA guessing, and unable to get possession back.
85'
Bradley isn't shy of having a go from long range, but he can't find the target with his latest effort. A chance for Herrera to waste time setting up with the forthcoming goal kick.
83'
Slow period in the game during the last minute or two as some free kicks break up play. Klinsmann looks pensive on the sidelines as his team chase a late leveler here in and against Chile.
81'
GREAT SAVE BY HERRERA! From Bradley's cross, Zardes hooks a fantastic header to the near corner, but the Roja keeper reads it all the way and pushes the effort wide!
Minute
Description
79'
P. Díaz enters the game and replaces M. Medel.
Klinsmann switched his troops to a back four a few minutes ago. Will that create the change in emphasis that the USMNT need to get back on level terms?
77'
NEARLY AN INSTANT WAY BACK FOR USA! Yedlin, for the first time in the second half, causes problems down the right. Nguyen has a poke at the full back's ball at the near post but misses by inches!
75'
M. González has scored a goal for Chile!
C. Wondolowski enters the game and replaces J. Altidore.
M. Besler gets yellow.
MARK AGAIN! CHILE LEAD! Rimando does superbly to push an initial long-range effort wide, but the veteran attacking midfielder is quickest to the rebound, slamming a low finish into the far side via a slight deflection.
74'
Chile continue to cause real problems with their diagonal balls from the flanks. They're playing the ball into all the right areas, finding the gaps that the USMNT are typically slow to close down.
72'
G. Fierro enters the game and replaces G. Espinoza.
The best results with a three-man defensive formation always feature the full backs quickly adapting their position to defensive and attacking phases of play, and the central three tucking in or fanning out as a result. That's one area that the USMNT need to improve on, the communication between players down the flanks. Something that Klinsmann, no doubt will be hoping gets better with time and match practice.
70'
Now we can question the three-man defence. Yedlin was too far up the pitch when Mark started his run, and as a result, Birnbaum hesitated for that crucial second, unsure of whether to cover the ex-Liverpool man or one of the red shirts streaking in behind him.
68'
G. Zardes enters the game and replaces C. Dempsey.
No Chile attacker has worked harder than Mark, and he deserved that goal just for his sheer nose for the ball. The goal looked almost identical to the opener by Shea, with a gap down the left ruthlessly exploited by a swift burst and low finish.
66'
M. González has scored a goal for Chile! Assist by M. Medel.
MARK GETS HIS! CHILE LEVEL! Chile attack at pace once again, and Birnbaum's hesitation on a through ball allows Mark the opportunity to steal in down the left and slam the ball home across Rimando!
64'
Chile have another set-piece in a dangerous position outside of the 18-yard area, but this time, it's flighted too close to Rimando, who leaps into the air to smother. Things coming alive again!
62'
USA THUMP THE WOODWORK! Altidore plays a ball parallel to the edge of the box for Bradley, who lets it run across his body before cracking a vicious effort off the far post! The TFC man has that kind of stunner in his locker, but was so unlucky there!
60'
W. Trapp enters the game and replaces M. Diskerud.
Chile keep peppering away with these crosses, and there's been a worrying lack of reaction from the USA, especially when the ball is played early. A tad more accuracy from la Roja and another goal could be on the cards.
59'
J. Delgado enters the game and replaces D. Valdés.
58'
Soft turnover from USA in the midfield, and Chile are on the break! Espinoza collects a pass from Carrasco and is about to have a pop, but a smart step-up from Birnbaum catches him offside when the ball is played.
56'
USA haven't gotten forward in a good few minutes, as they struggle to wrest the ball off Chile. The Americans still look sluggish coming out of the interval.
54'
Jones picks up his customary yellow card for a late foul on Mark. He's been hit and miss today, the New England Revolution midfielder. A few aggressive challenges have snuffed out danger, but a lack of positional understanding in the back has been evident.
53'
J. Jones gets yellow.
52'
A bad offside call and the reactions of Rimando bail out the USA defence, as Valdes stole in to prod a cross goalwards. The keeper makes a sprawling save, before the assistant flags for an offside on the Chilean midfielder, wrongly in my opinion.
50'
L. Nguyễn gets yellow.
Even when a corner is played to the very far corner of the penalty area, Chile still win the initial ball. Rojas flicks a header back into contention, but Jones gets his size 12's in the way.
48'
Klinsmann has withdrawn Bobby Wood, who served as a decent distraction from the main attacking option in Altidore on a few attacks. On comes Lee Nguyen, a midfielder by trade. It will be interesting to see if the USMNT revert to one up top, of if Dempsey pushes forward to become a full fledged support striker to Altidore.
46'
L. Nguyễn enters the game and replaces B. Wood.
Here we go again!
45' +2
B. Wood gets yellow.
Altidore clips a dangerous ball back into the six-yard area, but Chile just about manage to scramble it clear. And that will do it for the first half!
45' +1
GOAL RULED OUT! Offside, by about a whisker. Gutierrez ghosts to the blindside of Jones and converts a deep cross from the left-hand side, but the linesman makes an excellent decision to raise his flag. Tightest of calls!
45'
USA can't profit from the free kick as Dempsey fails to test Herrera. Chile nearly break from the attacking shutdown, but Shea and Besler combine to kill the momentum of the counter.
44'
CHILE COUNT THEIR LUCKY STARS! The Americans attack, with Dempsey sliding a geometric pass for Altidore to run onto. He drops his shoulder and beats Rojas with a quick change of direction, only to be cynically body-checked by the Chile captain - just on the edge of the box. That could have either been a goal or a red card, so you have to say that Rojas played that perfectly.
43'
J. Rojas gets yellow.
42'
CLOSE SET-PIECE SHAVE AGAIN! Carrasco clips one towards the back post, and Mark, once more, reacts quickest to the ball. However, even he can't make contact and it bounces dangerously wide of the far post!
40'
Chile, despite their height disadvantage, have been excellent in winning the initial header on a number of dead-ball scenarios. The Stars and Stripes are working hard, but they're being out-hustled on many 50-50's.
38'
Mark has been prowling around on almost every set piece. From a set piece, there's a blind header at the back post towards the opposite side. Mark evades his marker wood and slides in to get a touch, but he finds the wrongs side of the net!
36'
M. Bradley gets yellow.
35'
Bradley picks up a yellow card for a careless foul on Carrasco, who whips it into a dangerous area at the back post. Gonzalez challenges for the ball with Rimando, who is fouled in the process.
33'
Both USMNT goals have been executed wonderfully, with one coming down either flank. Chile's midfielders need to get back quicker to the corners of their defensive third. That's 26 international goals now for Altidore as well.
31'
J. Altidore has scored a goal for United States! Assist by M. Diskerud.
USA BACK IN FRONT! The move started thanks to the directness of Yedlin down the right wing. The full-back frees Diskerud for a little dribble parallel to the byline, and he smartly lays it off to Altidore for the smash!
29'
USA are having problems advancing the ball and keeping it in the Chile half. The pace of the game has slowed down as la Roja also take a breather from their high-intensity approach.
26'
Pretty open and expansive game so far, though Chile are more willing to take the game to the opposition. They are also eager to take set pieces quickly to catch the USMNT defence unawares.
24'
Bradley hangs a set piece to the back post, and Chile can't get it clear out of shooting range. It drops to Shea on the edge of the D, but with only his weaker right foot to aim with, he skies it.
22'
Medel collects a pass at the tip of the midfield, and the Yanks are lax in pressing him. That allows him the time to set up a shot from range, but he misses the target. Still, USA need to be quicker on the close out.
20'
Chile are looking the more poised side so far, despite USA enjoying the better chances. They're clearly more used to operating with three at the back, and shifting their wing backs up and down during attacking and defensive phases of play.
18'
Yedlin will need to use every bit of his recovery pace to protect the USMNT right flank. His attacking endeavour means that he's liable to get caught out of position a few times, and he'll want to ensure that Jones doesn't have to vacate the centre of defence for too long to cover for him. Very intriguing developments so far.
16'
Bryan Carrasco, the best self-slapper in football history, tries to flight a free kick towards a gap at the far post, but he puts too much mustard on his delivery, and it goes out for a goal kick.
14'
NEARLY ANOTHER FOR THE STARS AND STRIPES! Dempsey lifts his head and finds Yedlin racing down the right-hand side. No matter the opponent, the newly minted Spurs signing will almost always have the edge for raw pace. He bursts past his man and drills the ball low - it's neither a shot nor a cross but it dies flash menacingly close to the far post!
12'
It would be easy to point fingers at the three-man USA back line as the prime culprit for the goal, but they did have players in defensive position. The marking from Jones and Besler was simply terrible, with the pair switching off and allowing Roberto Gutierrez in between them. Plus, Mark's ball was good enough to carve apart even the most elite of defences.
10'
R. Gutiérrez has scored a goal for Chile! Assist by M. González.
CHILE RESPOND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY! Mark whips in an absolutely sensational cross from the left flank that curls beyond Jones, and Roberto Gutierrez can't help but glance a nifty header into the far side!
8'
We saw the weaknesses of Chile's three-man back line there. Though Shea showed great determination to score that opener, there was too much space and on the left-hand side for USA to set that one up. Even so, Herrera should have never let that one slip in at his near post.
6'
B. Shea has scored a goal for United States! Assist by M. Besler.
DREAM START FOR USA! Besler is afforded too much time on the ball and clips one over the top for Shea. The winger powers past his man and squeezes a finish past Herrera at the near post!
4'
Two intriguing formations on show tonight. Altidore, after so many years of plowing a lone furrow up top for the USMNT finally has a partner in Wood. Chile field what is practically a B team, but Sampaoli still sticks with the Biesla-influenced 3-3-1-3 formation that can electrify teams.

Here we go!
Hello and welcome to our coverage of the friendly match between Chile and USA. I'm Keeghann Sinanan, your guide for all the action.
USA kick off their 2015 schedule here at the Estadio El Teniente in Chile. Jurgen Klinsmann has his eyes on preparations for this summer's Gold Cup and next year's qualification for the Olympic games. The annual USMNT training camp this month has been an opportunity for the German coach to get a glimpse at some potential new stalwarts for the national side.
Chile have their eyes fixed on the upcoming Copa America tournament on home soil. La Roja boss Jorge Sampaoli has thusly called up an entire roster of domestic-based players for this friendly.
Chile have the edge in previous meetings against USA, winning four, drawing three and losing two. However, the USMNT have not lost their last four games against la Roja and, in their last visit to the South American nation in 2000, emerged 2-1 winners in Coquimbo.
Chile: Herrera, O. Gonzalez, Rojas, Pulgar, Cornejo, Espinoza, Valdes, Medel, Carrasco, M. Gonzalez, Gutierrez.
As expected, it's a completely different XI for Chile from their last match in November - a 2-1 loss to Uruguay. Gone are European-based starts like Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal. A lot tonight will depend on Mark Gonzalez, with the former Liverpool man, now 30, expected to provide leadership.
As hinted by Jermaine Jones, Klinsmann will turn experiment into reality, opting for a three-man back line tonight. New Toronto FC man Jozy Altidore leads the line alongside Bobby Wood, with skipper Clint Dempsey scheming just behind the pair.
A few technical difficulties from the host broadcast in Chile but don't worry, we'll be bringing you the kick-off very soon.
Who said you can't learn anything from international friendlies? We've seen an absorbing battle emerge between two unconventional formations. Both sides have played with three at the back and as a result, all three goals in this game have unsurprisingly been orchestrated from the flanks.
Shea smashed in an early opener, only for Gutierrez to tie it up minutes later. From there, I'd give Chile the definite edge in terms of their productivity in possession and chances created, but the USMNT end the half in front thanks to a well-worked goal via Altidore.
The second half stands to be just as entertaining as the first, so stay tuned!
A reserve Chile side produce a stirring comeback to seal a 3-2 victory over an experimental USA formation. Mark Gonzalez stole the show, with two goals in the final half-hour sealing the Roja recovery. Still a lot of kinks for Klinsmann to work out if he persists with this three-man back line, while Sampaoli saw many of his domestic-based players adapt to the eccentric 3-3-1-3 lineup.
That's all from me, I've been Keeghann Sinanan and it's been fun!
