And that's the game! That free-kick is the last meaningful action before Chris Foy blows his whistle. It ends 0-0 between Sunderland and Swansea here today.
90' +3
Cattermole takes down Bony now, about ten yards outside of Sunderland's box. This free-kick is a prime opportunity for Swansea and Shelvey sends it in to Fernandez, whose header goes out.
90' +2
Bony, back to help his side on defence, wins the ball in his own box and then wins a free kick after he spun around Van Aanholt before the player raced back to hack him down.
90'
Larsson tries to send his corner into the near post but it fails to beat the first defender. Sunderland work it around the box before Van Aanholt sends a cross into Fletcher, which is flicked down but cleared by Williams. Four minutes of injury time have just been added on.
88'
The home side are voraciously pushing forward here, searching for a winner and playing their best football of the entire match. The substitutions are looking inspired and Swansea are doing everything they can just to hang on here!
87'
Gomez tees himself up and takes a shot towards the upper left hand corner, but Fabianski punches it down and collects it on his second effort.
85'
Not shockingly, the possession has been almost all with Sunderland since Swansea's red. Alvarez tries to race past Montero but the latter does very well to stick with the Argentine and win the ball back deep in his own half.
84'
FLETCHER'S HEADER GOES JUST WIDE! The substitute rises high to rise over Williams to get his head on a cross, and he somehow sends his effort wide of the far post!
83'
Larsson goes directly for the far corner on the free kick, but Fabianski rises high to collect it without much of a fuss.
82'
J. Richards enters the game and replaces G. Sigurðsson.
Before the free kick can be taken, Sigurdsson comes off for Richards as Monk looks to shore up his defence.

Description
81'
Àngel Rangel gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
RANGEL SENT OFF! He gets a second yellow after standing his ground against Buckley, which Foy deemed to be worthy of a caution. Swansea are now down to ten and have to defend a free-kick very deep in their own half.
80'
Buckley keeps the ball deep in the box under pressure from Fernandez. The defender goes down easily and the Sunderland player is in dismay as a free-kick is awarded the other way.
79'
Montero races down the flank as Jones slides into the ball; the former lets the ball roll out for what he thinks should be a corner but Foy awards a goal-kick, much to his dismay.
78'
S. Fletcher enters the game and replaces C. Wickham.
Fan favorite Fletcher is on for Wickham now as Sunderland look to gamble a pair of fresh legs for a winner here today
77'
Bony and Sigurdsson race forward in the box and lose possession. Rangel is too eager to win it back, lightly pushing Jones in the back, and talks to Foy before conceding a free kick.
75'
B. Jones gets yellow.
Jones booked now after harassing Montero on the ball, failing to win it from him and cynically kicking out and pushing the player.
73'
W. Bony enters the game and replaces B. Gomis.
Alvarez bypasses Ki and gets to the byline, sending a ball across the goal that gets cleared. Larsson collects, whips it back into the box and Wickham heads it very high from just seven yards out! How did he miss there?!
72'
Gomis is coming off for Bony, with Monk surely looking for a much bigger impact from the man voted as the club's best player last season.
71'
BUCKLEY BREAKS THROUGH THE DEFENCE AND SQUARES A BALL ACROSS GOAL THAT BEATS FABIANSKI BUT FAILS TO FIND WICKHAM! And that's one of the best opportunities of the game gone begging!!
70'
The visitors are working the ball now, with Williams and Rangel looking for an angle to bypass the midfield. Gomis has dropped deep to support his team, but Van Aanholt steals the ball and nearly gets on the end of a quick pass to break through the defence.
69'
An oddly sliced clearance from Williams sees the ball travel backwards, but his fullbacks are able to clear. Seconds later Fernandez pulls down Wickham in the box but Foy doesn't call a penalty! Swansea immediately race forward but are unable to get a shot off.
68'
Montero and Alvarez immediately get involved as the former clears the ball that the latter was dribbling towards the box. Sunderland get a few crosses into the box and the crowd is starting to liven up here.
67'
Gomis is flagged offside just as a Swansea move looked to be underway in the midfield. The visitors have had a very tough time roaming forward this half.
66'
R. Álvarez enters the game and replaces A. Johnson.
J. Montero enters the game and replaces N. Dyer.
Johnson, who's had a quiet game, comes off for Ricky Alvarez, on loan from Inter. Swansea also make a change as the much more effective Dyer comes off for Montero.
65'
The delivery is interesting, played square for Wickham to run onto, but Shelvey sees the danger, beats Wickham to it, and allows his teammates to knock it out.
64'
Swansea concede a free kick in a very dangerous area - just outside of their box, on the left - and Larsson is lining up to take it. Lots of bodies in the box are jostling with each other as this game is becoming increasingly physical.
63'
Swansea roam forward but Mannone easily collects. At this current rate, it's difficult to see a goal coming from anything besides an egregious error or moment of brilliance.
61'
The substitution is making an immediate impact for the home side, who have looked comfortable ever since Gomez came on. Another bad pass on the side sees the ball go out before Van Aanholt can get to it, however.
60'
Àngel Rangel gets yellow.
59'
The change does seem to spark some life into Sunderland, who demand a free kick after Williams tangled with Wickham just outside of Swansea's box, on the left. Foy talks to both players but awards nothing and allows play to go on.
58'
Jordi Gómez enters the game and replaces J. Rodwell.
Sigurdsson takes a swing from about 30 yards out, in a good effort that's just too near Mannone to trouble the keeper. Immediately after, the ineffective Rodwell comes off for Gomez in the first substitution of the game.
56'
Routledge, high and left near the box, is forced to play the ball deeper in his midfield. Sunderland are often looking to Shelvey to be the playmaker but he doesn't quite seem up to the task.
55'
Van Aanholt with another well-timed interception to get the ball before it can reach Taylor, who was roaming forward. Gomis loses the ball seconds later and looks around furiously at his teammates.
54'
Wickham trying his best to urge his side forward but he has very little support in attack and loses the ball easily. The football has all gotten a bit lethargic at the moment, and both sides look like they need a spark of creativity.
52'
Swansea overcomplicate a clearance and watch the ball sail directly out of play. Poyet is on his feet screaming orders at his side as he's certainly not been impressed with them so far tonight.
50'
A. Williams gets yellow.
Excellent defending from Vergini, who keeps his ground as Routledge was racing into the box to nudge the ball legally off of the player. Seconds later, Williams committs a foul as he pushes down Wickham to become the second player to recieve a booking this game.
49'
The visitors have the ball around the pass, as Shelvey plays it to Gomis who lays it off for Ki to take a shot, but his effort sails over the bar. Disappointing.
48'
Poor execution is truly costing Sunderland. Their ideas are well enough, but as they try to work it down the flanks, the passes are consistently under/over hit to gift the ball to Swansea.
47'
Clever backheel from Wickham to keep the ball in Swansea's half under some pressure, but his teammates don't look like they know how to get the ball upfield, resorting to a cross-field long-ball that goes directly out of bounds.
46'
The second half kicks off at the Stadium of Light without a change from either side. The home team have the ball but this begins much like the first half ended: neither side are able to hang onto it as it pings back and forth.
45' +1
Routledge races all the way down the flank and to the byline just after beating Jones for pace, but as he winds up his leg to cross, slips and falls. That's the last meaningful action of the half as Foy blows the whistle, as the first 45 minutes ends 0-0 here.
45'
Sigurdsson's cross into the box bounces once and right up to Mannone as none of his teammates make a run onto it. On the other end, Shelvey plays an excellent through ball that takes a combination of Mannone and O'Shea to poke clear.
44'
L. Cattermole gets yellow.
The first booking of the game goes to Lee Cattermole, as he takes down Sigurdsson just as the he was racing in towards goal. That's Cattermole's 63rd yellow card in the Premier League!
43'
Good work from Swansea, who refuse to give up the ball as they have it near the box, working it from side to side and backwards. They don't make anything of it, though that's not terribly surprising in a game that has seen neither side keep the ball well for extended periods of time.
41'
Williams dives to get on the head of a ball played into the box, but the whistle is gone as too many of his teammates are roughing Sunderland's defence. The visitors try to keep the ball near the box but they're truly lacking incision today.
40'
Bony's shot sizzles wide, but it came from a fantastic individual display where he held up the ball, deftly turned his defender and quickly hammered it towards goal.
38'
The home side are in complete control at the moment. A ball is played in towards Jones in the box, but he fails to get on the end of it before the incredibly busy Fabianski.
37'
Sunderland have all the momentum right now and Swansea can barely avoid conceding corners. Wickham takes a shot that the visitors' defence slices wide for a deep throw in, and some moments later, finally maintain possession and get the ball out of their box!
36'
Dyer slips trying to mark Cattermole's run on the edge of the box, allowing him to whip the ball in towards Fabianski. Vergini plays a flicked header towards goal seconds later that Fabianski has to dive to keep out of the bottom left corner!
35'
The ball is cleared but only to Cattermole, who rips a shot towards the net that deflects wide! A corner is awarded to Sunderland but that effort seemed destined to ripple the back of the net!
34'
Williams' turn to head the ball out for a corner on the other side of the pitch, as Wickham was lurking to get on the end of an exquisite cross played into the box first-time.
33'
Dyer plays a one-two that lets him race free in the box, and in the very last momenet before the ball goes out, he sends a cross in that Vergini is forced to head out for a corner as Gomis was waiting. The corner, however, is right at Mannone.
32'
Larsson chops Sigurdsson to the ground and yet another goal kick is awarded! Chris Foy's whistle is blowing nonstop as both sides refuse to settle down.
31'
Yet another free kick as Fernandez bundles over Wickham. Foy warns both Williams and Fernandez about their physicality; so far, there's yet to be much of a flow here as play is constantly interrupted with fouls and free-kicks.
30'
Very cagey in the midfield. Rodwell slide into Ki with both feet out, failing to make contact but forcing Foy to award a free-kick to the visitors anyway.
28'
Williams commits a foul deep in the midfield, pushing as he rises for a header, but the away side win the ball back from the ensuing free-kick. Rangel races forward before slotting it to Dyer, who races past Cattermole before Larsson steals it from him.
27'
Good pressure from Sunderland wins the ball deep in Swansea's half. The home side try to whisk it into Jones' path as he runs towards the byline but he's offside.
26'
Dyer looks like he's just slipped past Van Aanholt, but a poor first touch pushes the ball too far in front of him and allows the full-back to see it over the line for a goal-kick for Mannone.
25'
Swansea are having difficulty breaking down the sea of red stripes they see everytime they attack, as Sunderland force them to pass it backwards but fail to win the ball from the visitors at the moment.
24'
Buckley, who's growing in influence here, gets on the end of a long ball played over the top of the defense; from the right flank, he first times a cross into the box on the volley, and Fabianski can easily collect.
23'
Sunderland play a free kick short as Johnson squares it to Van Aanholt, who tries a shot from nearly forty yards out that ends up nowhere near on target. A very disappointing set-piece from the home side.
21'
Buckley takes it upon himself to better Ki's effort on the other end, as he races from the right wing down the box to turn and fire a shot that takes a dangerous deflection and wobbles to Fabianki's left. The goalie races out to push it wide and Williams skies it clear for a Sunderland throw-in.
20'
Shelvey slots it to Ki on the top right corner of the box, who feints to the right before shooting over the bar from his left. There's no doubt that Swansea have been the livelier side so far, but neither team has really had a genuine effort yet.
19'
Williams rises high to knock out Sunderland's throw-in for another one, and the second is overplayed for Fabianski to gather. The visitors now seem more content to try and build from the back as the slowly work it between their centre-backs and goalie.
18'
Van Aanholt intercepts the ball and plays it to Wickham, who loses it. Cattermole knocks it away from Bony only for Shelvey to take it back, and no one can keep the ball at the moment!
17'
Very clever from the home side! A free kick is quickly played in towards Buckley, who looks like he's free in the box but Fabianski manages to tip the ball out for a corner that sails over everyone. It looked as though Buckley was offside but the flag stayed down.
16'
Dyer certainly isn't afraid to shoot as he takes his second chance of the game, cutting inside from the left and going for the far post but his effort is well, well wide of the target.
15'
In a deep lying role, Shelvey hoofs the ball wide to Routledge, who does well to keep the ball in. Swansea's possession ends on the edge of the box but they regain it moments later after Buckley commits a foul while going forward near the halfway mark.
13'
Taylor clears the first corner out for another one, and after Chris Foy talks to Buckley and Ki Sung-Yong about keeping their hands off each other, another corner is swung inn for the latter player to slice wide before Bony dangerously headed it backwards for Fabianski to catch.
12'
Johnson draws a save from Fabianski! Wickham gets his head on a cross in the box and plays it wide to the onrushing winger, who rifles a shot that the Sunderland goalie parries out for a corner kick.
11'
Johnson does well to keep the ball admist heavy challenges from multiple Swansea players as he races down the left flank, and he eventually earns Sunderland a free kick. It's whipped into the box and Fabianski races out to catch it.
9'
O'Shea intercepts a clever Bony backheel on the edge of the box, but the buildup from Swansea was fantastic. Seconds later, Dyer's shot from Shelvey's knockdown on the edge of the box goes over the bar, with Sigurdsson at the heart of both of the plays.
8'
Sunderland not making the most of these early chances here as Buckely is caught offside far too easily.
7'
Very nearly an incisive pass from Johnson to Van Aanholt on an overlapping run in the box but Dyer intercedes with a well timed intervention.
6'
Temporarily down to ten men, Swansea are put under immense pressure which forces Fabianski into a long clearance. Good play from Routledge as he gets down the left flank and plays in a looping clearance, but none of his teammates manage to reach it.
4'
Shot over the bar from Wickham just after the home side charged down the field. There are some worries here for the visitors as Fernandez is down injured and the medical staff is on the field to attend to him. He stands up on his own and walks but is grimacing as he trods off the pitch for evaluation.
2'
Good recovering run from Cattermole who gets a foot onto the ball just when it looked like Gomis had stolen it from Vergini deep in Sunderland's own half. On the other end, Johnson's possession is lost for a throw in to the visitors, worked down the field for Routledge to cross into the box but it's cleared by O'Shea.
1'
Chris Foy blows the whistle and we have kick-off! The visitors, docked in all white, immediately try to feed Bony and in doing so, gift the ball to the home side's defence. It pings around the midfield before Swansea's back four settles and calms down play from the back.
Hello and welcome to our live match coverage of Sunderland vs Swansea! Today's match at the Stadium of Light sees two managers desperate to get back to winning ways. Gus Poyet's home side have yet to get all three points this season, drawing four and losing one of thier five matches, and the visitors under Gary Monk are looking for their first leaugue win since losing successive matches to Chelsea and Southampton.
The home side have a few injury concerns here today, with Emanuele Giaccherini, Wes Brown, and Steve Fletched all sidelined. American Jose Altidore is on the bench despite scoring in the Capital One Cup loss to Stoke as Connor Wickham starts upfront.
Swansea have had a marvelous beginning to life under Monk, winning five of their seven matches before losing the last two. They're missing Jordi Amat and Leon Britton due to knee injuries and will be hoping to keep pace with recent history - only once in six meetings between these sides have Sunderland won.
One of the men to watch today is surely Gylfi Sigurdsson, who's having a superb adjustment to life at Swansea since transferring back to the club where he spent 2011-2012 after a spell with Tottenham. His four assists in the league are bettered by only Cesc Fabregas!
Swansea's defeats in the last two matchdays were not enough to scar the fact that they're currently enjoying the best start to the season in club history - needless to say, confidence is high with the visitors and they may well see the home side today as the perfect opportunity to bounce back to winning ways.
The clubs are walking out of the tunnels and we're five minutes away from the kick-off here!
It was not a vintage half from either side, neither of which did particularly well. Fabianski was certainly the busier of the two keepers, however, with Swansea's forwards just not effective enough at unlocking a defense that often sat deep in numbers.
For the second half, Swansea will need to be faster in their build-up to try and catch the home side out before they can get back in numbers; Sunderland, conversely, need to do anything just to create more meaningful chances, as they're surely more desperate to get their first win of the season.
Incredibly, it's Sunderland's fifth draw in six games so far this season. Towards the end they looked the far better side, with their substitutes having an immediate impact though failing to put away a few golden opportunities after the sending-off.
And as for Swansea, it was not the display they wanted, though this will surely feel like a good result after a harsh sending off. That's all from us here today - thanks for joining us!
