Fellow sub Wagner finds Lopes in inspired form once more and you sense that may well have been the final chance for a Plzen side who have certainly had the chances to go through tonight or, at the very least, take the tie to extra time.
90' +1
J. Briand gets yellow.
90'
Substitute Matej Koncal tries his luck from long range but sees an optimistic strike go wildly over the bar, with Lopes finally able to see a shot go away from his goal.
88'
Briand runs clear of the Plzen defence but his finish is as poor as his one in the first half as he goes for a side-footed attempt at goal which rolls wide of Bolek's far post.
86'
ANOTHER SAVE: Again Lopes comes to the rescue as he twice denies Bakos at the back post. Hrosovsky's deep corner in is met by Bakos, but his first header is somehow clawed off the line by the keeper, before he recovers to block his follow-up shot.
84'
M. Končal enters the game and replaces M. Ďuriš.
S. Malbranque enters the game and replaces B. Gomis.
WHAT A SAVE: Lopes produces a remarkable stop to deny Cisovsky who did everything in his powers to try and atone his error with a thunderous long-range drive, but the central defender found the goalkeeper equal to it. Steed Malbranque is introduced to shore up midfield numbers in place of goalscorer Gomis.
82'
Gourcuff's centre, for once, is poor and fails to find any of his team-mates, who are waiting to nod home at the back post. Instead, his effort flies over the bar.
81'
M. Čišovský gets yellow.
80'
Cisovsky enters the book for a unceremonious trip on Gomis, who was heading through towards goal, but the referee deemed that the frontman was heading slightly away from goal and only a yellow card was brandished.
78'
Mvuemba comes on for the tireless Tolisso, who has worked so hard for his side this evening. Tomas Wagner comes on for the hosts in place of Petrzela, who has been equally as impressive.
Minute
Description
77'
A. Mvuemba enters the game and replaces C. Tolisso.
T. Wágner enters the game and replaces M. Petržela.
76'
Lyon are attempting to diffuse some of the Plzen pressure and are trying to keep hold of the ball at every oppportunity.
74'
M. Bakoš enters the game and replaces D. Kolář.
Marek Bakos enters the fray for Plzen and almost makes an instant impact, firing straight at Lopes, who was grateful the shot was not either side of him.
72'
Plzen are pressing once more however and a goalmouth scramble almost leads to a third goal, but Lopes does enough to keep the ball out.
70'
MISSED PENALTY: Duris does brilliantly to rob Kone of possession and win a spot-kick for his side when the Burkinabe defender tripped the midfield man. Tecl stepped up and sent Lopes the wrong way, but saw his penalty cannon back off the base of the post.
68'
Lyon are fortunate to get away with a moment of madness in defence as Kone allows the ball to bounce with Petrzela in close proximity, but Lopes is alert enough to deal with the danger.
66'
Lyon make a rare foray forward and are almost rewarded but the ball deflects through to goalkeeper Bolek at the end of what looked to be a promising move.
64'
The goal has put wind back in Plzen sails and the Czech side are getting more numbers forward now in pursuit of what would be a hugely important third goal.
62'
S. Tecl has scored a goal for Viktoria Plzen! Assist by M. Petržela.
GOAL! Well, well. Plzen now lead on the night and need just two goals to send this into thirty added minutes as Tecl makes it 2-1. More poor defensive work from Lyon on the left leads to Petrzela finding himself space on the right. The winger's ball in has enough pace on it for Tecl to just connect and send a header flying into the far corner off the post. Game well and truly on.
61'
H. Bedimo enters the game and replaces Miguel Lopes.
60'
D. Kolář has scored a goal for Viktoria Plzen! Assist by P. Hrošovský.
GOAL! Plzen are level and it's Kolar who grabs a beautifully-engineered equaliser. They still require three more goals to force extra time but that should at least lift the home side and the crowd. Poor defending from Lyon leads to Patrik Hrosovsky advancing down the right and sliding a cross in for Polar to coolly convert.
58'
Gomis goes close to a spectacular second after leaving a bewildered Reznik for dead. The ball comes over the Lyon man's shoulder but he is composed enough to flick it over the defender's head before attempting an acrobatic overhead volley which flies just wide of the target.
56'
Ferri is fed by Gourcuff in a promising position and he gets his head up well before crossing, but the ball is hurriedly cleared away from goal by Cisovsky.
54'
Horava picks up a loose ball in midfield and senses the opportunity to shoot. His effort is a good one, but it fails to seriously test Lopes, with the ball more or less straight at his midriff.
52'
A clipped cross towards the back post locates an unmarked Limbersky, but the full-back gets well underneath the ball and his contact is poor, driving well over the crossbar.
50'
Bisevac's ambitious long pass looks to free Gomis once more but the Frenchman failed to time his run and the flag was duly raised for offside.
48'
Gourcuff whips another sumptuous ball into the area and Kone is up early only to see his header land inches wide of Bolek's upright.
46'
We are back underway at the Doosan Arena as Lyon get the ball rolling once more.
45' +3
B. Gomis has scored a goal for Lyon! Assist by M. Biševac.
GOAL! Gomis breaks the deadlock with a stunning goal and that surely sees the French side through to the last eight. A long ball finds the striker on the right-hand side of the penalty area. A beautiful piece of skill later and he checks inside defender Cisovsky - who squandered that earlier gilt-edged opening - before slamming a low left-foot shot into the far bottom corner.
45'
Plzen are trying desperately to find the elusive opener here, but Lyon have been extremely comfortable in this first half and look favourites to add to their first-leg lead.
43'
Lopes then tries to atone for his error by helping tee up a counter, but Gomis is caught offside after straying beyond the final defender.
41'
Lopes - the full-back - enters the referee's book for scything down Duris after the midfielder had cleverly evaded the attentions of the Portuguese defender.
40'
Miguel Lopes gets yellow.
39'
Tolisso is still down having treatment from the Lyon physio on his ankle having taken a hefty landing on the turf.
37'
Another chance for the hosts, with Lyon unhappy about it as Tolisso was down hurt. Plzen play on anyway and Vaclav Prochazka does excellently to get to the byline, but his clip back is skewed over the top by Kolar.
35'
CHANCE: What an opening for Plzen, who have now had three presentable opportunities in this half. A short corner back to Limbersky looks as if it will fail to pay off, with the full-back's cross quickly charged down, but his ball back into the box is nodded on by Tecl and falls perfectly for Marian Cisovsky, but his volley is straight at Lopes. Kone clears for a corner.
33'
Gomis takes aim from range after good play by Dabo but his shot fails to test Petr Bolek in the Plzen goal as it zips past his right-hand post.
31'
Gourcuff embarks on a mazy run but it is halted by the Plzen defence, who are able to reorganise themselves at the back. Watching the replay back, Maxime Gonalons was also in attendance for Briand if he had chosen to have cut his earlier miss back to his fellow Frenchman.
29'
Plzen try to rally by moving forwards with the ball but Stanislav Tecl is bullied off of it in the area by Mouhamadou Dabo.
27'
POST: That could, and perhaps should, have been game, set and match to Lyon. Goucuff's expert delivery from wide on the right is pinpoint and straight onto the head of Tolisso, who steers the ball towards goal only to see it come cannoning back off the upright. The loose ball takes Jimmy Briand by surprise, with the striker unable to adjust his feet and turn home from close range.
25'
A loose ball in midfield invites Limbersky onto the front foot and he looks to feed Duris with a long ball into the left channel, but Milan Bisevac is quickly across to deal with the danger and wins his side a free-kick after being felled by Duris.
23'
Chances aplenty in the opening 25 minutes here, with Petrzela the latest to go close. The Czech winger showed immacculate control to bring a deflected free-kick out of the air and spun, but could only fire his shot over the crossbar.
21'
CHANCE: Gomis springs the offside trap to latch onto Ferri's neat through ball, but the Frenchman's touch invites a tackle from Reznik, who got across well to cover.
19'
CLOSE: A long-range fizzer from Duris deflects off a defender and goes inches wide of Anthony Lopes' left-hand post, with the keeper rooted to the spot as he watched it wide.
17'
All the play, certainly from a Plzen perspective, is coming down the left. Kone does well to deal with a cross into the area by lashing the teasing ball out of play.
15'
Jordan Ferri is rather cynically hacked down by Limbersky, who has to be careful now he has been cautioned so early in this game. It was a stupid place to attempt that tackle.
13'
Plzen come forward again on the left-hand side through the dangerous Petrzela, but the ball rolls out for a throw in the corner.
11'
Limbersky gets forward to try and influence proceedings at the other end of the pitch, but his cross-cum-shot is straight out of play for a goal kick.
9'
D. Limberský gets yellow.
Gourcuff almost escapes down the left but his final ball in is easily cleared before Lyon launch an attack on the other wing. Miguel Lopes stretches to reach the ball but is upended by David Limbersky, who is booked for his actions.
7'
Lyon win a free-kick around 30 yards from goal and Gourcuff rather selfishly elects to shoot, only to see his shot fly high into the crowd.
5'
A confident start from the hosts, who have settled well and created that early chance. Lyon are trying to get the ball down and dictate the tempo of the game.
3'
CLOSE: Plzen should have taken an early lead there, with Daniel Kolar fluffing his lines from just six yards out after tremendous work down the left from Milan Petrzela.

We are underway here at the Doosan Arena.
Good evening and welcome to this Europa League round of 16 second leg between Viktoria Plzen and Lyon. The Czech Republic outfit have it all to do tonight after a 4-1 defeat in France last week.
Garde tinkers with his selection having already secured what should be an unassailable advantage from the first leg and brings in Bakary Kone, Yoann Gourcuff, Jordan Ferri, Corentin Tolisso and Bafetimbi Gomis. The likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Gueida Fofana are rested despite their superb first-leg displays.
Here are the teams, beginning with Viktoria Plzen: Bolek; Cisovsky, Reznik, Prochazka, Limbersky; Duris, Kolar; Petrzela, Hrosovsky, Horava; Tecl.
The two sides both make changes to the starting lineups from last week, with Plzen manager Dusan Uhrin bringing three players in and Lyon manager Remi Garde drafts in five after sealing such a comprehensive first-leg advantage.
So for the hosts, out go Roman Hubnik, veteran Pavel Horvath and Jan Kovarik, with the latter duo dropping to the bench. In come Radim Reznik, Patrik Hrosovsky and Michal Duris.
Fofana grabbed a brace last week and goals from Lacazette and Arnold Mvuemba helped cancel out Tomas Horava's early strike in some style. The away goal provides some comfort for the Czech side and Lyon do have previous for losing heavily this season, with Montpellier beating Garde's side 5-1 and PSG also winning 4-0 against Lyon this season.
HALF-TIME: Viktoria Plzen 0-1 Lyon. The French side are well worth their half-time lead, handed to them right on the stroke of half-time by Gomis thanks to a wondeful individual piece of skill and the finish was unerring beyond Bolek. If the game wasn't already over before we started here, then it most certainly is now, with Plzen left to rue bad misses by Duris, Petrzela and Cisovsky.
FULL-TIME: Viktoria Plzen 2-1 Lyon (agg: 3-5). It was a brave, brave effort from the team from the Czech Republic, but their collapse in the first leg ultimately cost them dear. The French side's initial 4-1 advantage was added to by Bafetimbi Gomis' stunning piece of skill and finish and the tie appeared wrapped up. But Plzen had other ideas and launched a stirring second-half fightback as Daniel Kolar and Stanislav Tecl gave the hosts hope. Tecl had the chance to give his team real hope of sending the match the distance in the last 20 minutes, but his penalty miss let Lyon off the hook. The French side will have to improve in the quarter-finals to progress.
