Vadillo collects the ball in the middle of the park and takes on a few defenders before being shoved and pulled back by Navarro. Betis get the free kick in the final third, which will do them nicely.
90' +2
The home fans jump out of their seats as Reyes goes down under the challenge of Vadillo inside the box, but the referee waves play on and doesn't award the penalty. Good officiating, it would have been extremely soft.
90'
SIX minutes of injury time awarded by the referee. The home fans grow in expectancy as they realise they've been gifted a little more time to try and salvage something, anything out of this first leg.
88'
That's brilliant from Adan. The Betis goalkeeper takes the pressure completely off his team-mates by dashing off his line and sending the ball out of the box with a strong one-handed punch. I'm sure he'll get a pat on the back for that one.
87'
Reyes does brilliantly to shift past the tackle of Didac but then goes down rather easily under the challenge of N'Diaye. The ref goes in favour of Sevilla and awards a free kick near the corner flag on the right wing.
85'
Don't remember folks, this is a two-leg tie, so Sevilla will be doing everything in their power just to claw back at least one goal here. It could make all the difference going into the second leg next Thursday!
83'
It's quite an atmosphere in the stadium! Every pass from Betis is being met with an almighty 'OLE' from the away fans, and an almighty jeer from the home fans!
81'
What a story this would be. Betis' last two trips to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan have ended in 5-1 and 4-0 to Sevilla respectively, but when the stakes were high Unai Emery's men couldn't take the heat!
80'
Antonio Amaya enters the game and replaces L. Reyes.
Minute
Description
79'
Betis are forced into a change just a minute after conceding and no prizes for guessing whether it's a defensive or attacking switch. Lolo Reyes has picked up an injury and will be replaced by central defender, Antonio Amaya.
78'
Sevilla scores against Sevilla! Who'd have thought it?!
77'
Salva Sevilla has scored a goal for Real Betis! Assist by Léo Baptistão.
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLL FOR REAL BETIS!!! Baptistao slides a ball inside and Salva Sevilla turns sharply past Fazio before firing a strike into the left corner past Beto! Two-nil! Unbelievable!
74'
Álvaro Vadillo enters the game and replaces C. Mabwati.
Gabriel Calderon makes another switch as Cedrick, who has valiantly worked down that left wing, comes off to be replaced by Alvaro Vadillo. Just over 15 minutes remaining for the vistors to hold on!
72'
Adán gets yellow.
GAMEIROOOOO! HOW IS THIS NOT 1-1?! Marin picks out the Frenchman with a delightful cross to the back post and all he had to do is basically let the ball hit off his face! But he ends up clearing the ball over the bar from on the line! How on Earth?!
71'
There seems to be something wrong with Reyes tonight. He's received the ball plenty of times and has pulled off some fantastic passes, but seems totally and completely reluctant to run with the ball despite having acres of space in front of him. Bizarre.
69'
Greedy this time from Baptistao, though. The Brazilian has Salva and Cedrick available on each wing but instead opts to try and dance his way through the Sevilla defence. It doesn't come off, and the home side win back possession.
67'
Salva Sevilla enters the game and replaces Rubén Castro.
Superb defending from Iborra! Baptistao shows the Sevilla defence a clear pair of heels and drives towards the goal, but before he can pull the trigger he's thwarted by the midfield man, who comes in with a superb challenge!
66'
M. Marin enters the game and replaces Vitolo.
Both sides make a change as Marko Marin replaces Vitolo for Sevilla, and Ruben Castro makes way for Salva Sevilla for Betis.
64'
Just under half an hour remaining for Sevilla to salvage something from this second leg. Betis went a head in the first half but have been slightly guilty of not capitalising on their lead. Still, what a result this would be to take back to Benito Villarmin.
62'
Fazio is involved again as he latches on to a corner kick at the post post and heads towards goal, but it's a pretty awkward attempt as he's retreating backwards during his execution. It ends up drifting harmlessly wide.
60'
That's brilliant work from N'Diaye. The Senegalese international runs toe-to-toe, shoulder-to-shoulder with Fazio down the right wing and shoves the big Argentine off the ball with authority. You don't see that happening too often to the Sevilla defender!
59'
What a sensational pass from Rakitic. The Croatian received the ball to feet with pace before taking a touch and without any backlift, dropping it straight on to the foot of Reyes who's standing on the left-hand touchline.
57'
Just wide from Gameiro! The substitute receives a lovely pass into the box from Vitolo and takes a few assured touches before stabbing a shot towards the bottom corner, but his attempt creeps by the right-hand post!
55'
BAPTISTAO!!! He should be scoring that! The Brazilian gets beyond Navarro and bursts into the box but just can't shift the ball out of his feet, and smuggles a shot towards the front post. Beto comes off his line and remains big to make the save though!
54'
Vitolo has been much better in the opening first 10 minutes or so in this second half. His first 45 minutes was a non-event apart from the dinked shot over Adan, but now he has begun to take on Didac and stretch his legs with runs down the wing.
52'
It's took them a little while, but the fans in red in white in the stands are back in full song as they aim to get behind their team. Betis have been fairly quiet since their goal, so Sevilla will be looking to get on the ascendancy and grab the equaliser as soon as possible in the second period.
51'
Jordi Figueras gets yellow.
50'
The home crowd are up in arms after Jordi goes in extremely late on Vitolo down the right wing! The Betis man will definitely get a booking for that one, and deservedly so! Free kick to the hosts a yard in from the touchline.
49'
Iborra receives the ball on the right-hand side but, with three team-mates inside the box, swings the ball up and over the bar from a cross. That's got to be frustrating for the Sevilla players in the middle.
48'
It looks like the pyrotechnics are in full swing now! The referee delays play for a minute or so after a flair is thrown close to the pitch. A thick smoke hovers over the Seville side of the park. Hopefully it'll clear up quickly!
47'
Unai Emery is wasting no time making changes here, and has delved into his bench at half time to make some adjustments. Diogo Figueiras and Kevin Gameiro replaced Coke and Cristofo. This will likely mean Rakitic retreating slightly, with two being played up top.
46'
Diogo Figueiras enters the game and replaces Coke.
K. Gameiro enters the game and replaces S. Cristóforo.
We are back under way in Andalusia! The Seville derby continues!
43'
A goal for either side before the break could potentially be crucial here. If Sevilla get it then they are right back in contention, and will get the crowd fired up for the second half. If Betis go 2-0 up, then the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan faithful will not take it lightly...
41'
In a no frills battle for the ball in the middle of the park, N'Diaye and Iborra push, pull, and tug each other to try and claim possession. The ref ends up spoiling the spectacle by awarded a free kick to Sevilla.
39'
This is certainly a different Adan than the one we saw turn out for Cagliari in Serie A this season! He only made a few very uninspiring appearances for the Italian side before returning to Spain with Betis.
38'
THAT'S A POOR MISS FROM REYES! Sevilla waste yet another opportunity and this time it's the 30-year-old who finds himself with plenty of space while basically through on goal, but his shot towards the bottom corner is fairly weak which allows Adan to make the save!
36'
Both keepers have definitely been kept on their toes so far. Two or three really good saves a piece, and the men between the sticks certainly look to be on form. Leo Baptistao the only man to get the better of a goalkeeper so far.
34'
Fazioooo! Wide of the mark again! Sevilla are wasting plenty opportunities here and the latest culprit is the Argentine defender, who meets a corner kick inside the box and bullets a header over despite not being marked with too much intensity.
32'
SIDE-NETTING FROM VITOLO! Reyes curls a delicious cross in behind the Betis defence and the 24-year-old looks to dink the ball over the oncoming Adan, but his attempt goes into the side of the net! Half the ground thought it was in!
31'
CEDRICK! BETIS ALMOST DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! The Democratic Republic of Congo international drifts in at the back post and looks to sneak a header in the front post past Beto, but the Sevilla keeper is on his toes to beat the attempt away!
29'
Coke cleverly nutmegs Didac down the right wing before being solidly blocked off by the Betis left-back. Another set-piece chance for Sevilla. They haven't really made the most of their dead ball opportunities so far.
27'
José Caro gets yellow.
The cards are coming think and fast here! Caro suffers the wrath of the referee after going in, well, perfectly fairly on Reyes. Apparently cleanly getting the ball warrants a booking these days!
26'
Iborra gets yellow.
25'
Iborra is the latest player to go into the book and it's for a scything challenge on Baptistao. Retribution for scoring the opening goal perhaps! Betis get the free kick a few yards inside the attacking half.
23'
Morenooooo!!! So unlucky! Great play from Sevilla! Rakitic is involved once again as he lays a ball out to the left for Reyes who finds his left-back on the overlap. The 21-year-old skips past the challenge of Caro before lashing a left-footed strike at goal, but his attempt just shaves the top of the bar!
22'
Rakitic has picked up the ball in his preferred position just behind the striker twice so far, and twice he has picked out a pass of the highest order to one of the other attackers. The Betis management picked the Croatian out as the danger man before the match, and rightly so.
20'
BACCAAAAA! HE HAS TO SCORE THAT! Rakitic clips a fabulous pass into the centre of the box and the Colombian has time to pick his spot, but sends his header straight into the chest of the oncoming Adan!
18'
The game hasn't settled at all since that Baptistao goal went in. Betis are looking much more comfortable on the ball as Sevilla look shellshocked by the opening goal. They'll need to get their act together so to get the home crowd bouncing again!
16'
The Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan's atmosphere drops just like that! All you can hear are the fans in green and white at the moment!
15'
Léo Baptistão has scored a goal for Real Betis! Assist by Juanfran.
GOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL FOR REAL BETIS!! THE VISITORS TAKE THE LEAD! Juanfran collects possession on the right and whips a superb cross to the front post. Baptistao gets across Fazio to bullet a header into the top corner! One-nil!
14'
REYES! Just over! Jordi initially blocks Bacca's strike with a superb block inside the box before the ball breaks to the former Valencia attacker. He slices a shot towards the top corner but it goes just over the crossbar!
13'
C. Mabwati gets yellow.
Betis get a free kick down the left-hand side as Coke clips the heels of the pace Leo Baptistao. In a strange turn of events, Cedrick is actually the player who goes into the book for demanding the Sevilla man be awarded a yellow card. Nobody wants to see that!
12'
What a quick 10 or so minutes that was, it's flew by! It's pretty much what we all expected so far. Fiery, tense, and full of passion. Not much in terms of goalmouth action apart from Bacca's chance, though.
10'
Sevilla counterattack at pace through the middle as Rakitic collects possession before striding forward. The Croatian slides a pass down the left channel for Reyes who looks to smash a cross along the six yard box, but Caro comes in with an important block to turn it out for a corner.
8'
Beto gets some protection from the referee after going down pretty easily during an aerial challenge with Perquis. Not much in it, but goalkeepers generally get protection in such situations. No difference here, and it's a free kick to the hosts.
7'
Well, we can finally take a moment after a pretty breathless opening few minutes. Bacca could have opened the scoring just 10 seconds in, but he passed up the chance. Will the Colombian live to regret not converting? Still plenty of time to make amends.
6'
And we've got our first fiery encounter in the middle of the park as N'Diaye goes in relatively late on Cristoforo just outside the centre circle. There's some pushing and pulling going on, but there wasn't too much in it really. Sevilla get the free kick though.
5'
Alberto Moreno intercepts the ball in the left-back position and goes on a marauding run down the wing before reversing a pass inside for Reyes. The former Real Madrid man looks to curl a ball round the back of the Betis defence for Bacca but Adan comes off his line to make the claim.
4'
Nothing comes from the resulting set-piece, but Betis manage to retain possession though Cedrick once again popping up on the left flank.
3'
The free kick is floated to the back post and Juanfran battles for possession before earning a corner kick out of the Sevilla defence. Both sides going for it early doors here!
2'
Cedrick looks to break away up the left-hand side but is bundles over by Cristoforo and Betis get the free kick in a useful position on the wing. Let's see what the visitors can make of this.
1'
We are under way! Hold on to your hats, folks...it's the Seville derby!
ADAN SAVES WITHIN 10 SECONDS! Bacca bulldozes his way past the Betis defence before releasing a shot from inside the box, but the Betis keeper gets off his line quickly to make the block!
Good evening football fans! Welcome to LIVE coverage of the UEFA Europa League last-16 clash between Sevilla and Real Betis from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan!
I'm Martin Macdonald, and it is my pleasure to take you through the action!
It's a special encounter for us tonight...the Seville derby!
A typically fiery affair, the derby between city neighbours Sevilla and Betis are not usually without incident. Hopefully we'll see some added spice to the proceedings despite this being a European clash.
Betis have had a pretty torrid season so far in the Spanish Primera Division, and currently find themselves rock bottom in the table, with their win against Getafe at the weekend their first since September. However, the Beticos have been superb in their European campaign, and have lost just once out of 10 matches in the Europa League.
Sevilla have steadily moved up the standings in La Liga and still find themselves still in with a shout of European football football next season. Much like their city rivals, Los Rojiblancos have enjoyed a prosperous time this competition this season, having yet to taste defeat.
The Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan has not been a happy hunting ground for Betis recently. Their last two visits across the city to Sevilla have resulted in two heavy defeats at 5-1 and 4-0. Doesn't make the bets of reading for the fans in green and white!
However, an impressive 2-0 away victory against Rubin Kazan in the previous stage to clinch qualification will fill Gabriel Calderon's outfit's with confidence heading into the tie.
Conversely, Unai Emery's men didn't have it as comfortable as they would have hoped in the previous round. A Dare Vrsic goal for Maribor in the last minute of the last match ensured a tense finish in the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but Sevilla eventually managed to squeeze through with a 4-3 aggregate win.
In the previous Seville derby, Betis were comprehensively beaten. Carlos Bacca, Stephane Mbia, Vitolo, and Vicente Iborra were all on target for Sevilla as they romped to a 4-0 victory at home.
The overral record in the derby is 48-33 in wins to Sevilla, with 26 draws.
Interestingly, this is Betis' first time playing a team against Spain in a European competition, compared to Sevilla's ninth. The most prestigious match between the Rojiblancos and a domestic rival in Europe came in the 2007 final of this competition, in which they defeated Espanyol on penalties to be crowned champions.
The rivals have played each other 108 times domestically in all competitions, so they are certainly well acquainted!
The teams make their way on to the pitch. The atmosphere is absolutely electric in the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan!
Half time in Andalusia. Real Betis currently sit bottom of the Spanish Primera Division and look likely to be relegated at the moment, but they have put all their domestic heartache to once side to take a 1-0 lead at the Ramon Sanzhez Pizjuan against their arch rivals, Sevilla. Leo Baptisao grabbed the opening goal of the match after a cross from Juanfran, but it's largely been the goalkeepers who've been on top, and made some terrific saves between them.
FULL TIME IN THE RAMON SANCHEZ PIZJUAN!
Real Betis go into the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie with a brilliant two-goal lead after a 2-0 away victory against arch rivals, Sevilla. Leo Baptistao opened the scoring in the first half and, despite a raft of chances for the hosts, Gabriel Calderon's men grabbed another through substitute Salva Sevilla. Betis win the Seville derby, but we've another to come next week! This tie isn't over yet! I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us, see you next time!
