SC Heerenveen almost gave away a very comfortable lead at FC Utrecht, but held on to leave Galgenwaard stadium with a 2-3 victory in the pocket.
The visiting side took the lead after 15 minutes, when Viktor Elm headed past the opposing goalkeeper following a Roy Beerens pass.
The rest of the goal action was left for the last half hour of the match. Michael Papadopoulos found the target in the 68th and 78th minutes to lead Heerenveen to a 0-3 lead.
Utrecht refused to give up though and pulled one back through Tim Cornelisse, following a corner kick in minute 81.
Jacob Mulenga made it 2-3 in the dying minutes, but it wasn't enough for Utrecht to avoid defeat.
