23:45 CET - According to TalkSport, Aston Villa are considering a January move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher.

19:15 CET - Fabrizio Romano and Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf are reporting that Ajax are close to signing Maximilian Ibrahimovic, the son of former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic

11:45 CET - Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira is reporting that Galatasaray have opened talks with Bernardo Silva to sign the Manchester City midfielder on a free transfer in the summer.

21:33 CET - CONFIRMED - Lazio have announced the signing of Dutch midfielder Kenneth Taylor, who has joined from Ajax for around €15 million.

19:53 CET - As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Santos full-back Souza in a deal worth €15m. The 19-year-old is expected to travel to London over the weekend.

18:24 CET - Just six months after signing for Zenit, Brazilian winger Gerson is set to return to his home country, with ESPN Brasil reporting that Cruzeiro are close to signing him for €30 million.

15:56 CET - Roma are stepping up their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin, with the player keen on the move, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

13:02 CET - As per reports, Ajax are the latest team to register their interest in taking Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

10:19 CET - CONFIRMED - Manchester City have completed the signing of winger Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a transfer deal worth £62.5 million.

The Ghana forward, 26, has penned a contract until June 2031 at the Etihad Stadium.

"I am so proud to have joined Manchester City," said Semenyo in a statement on the club's website. 

"I have watched City over the last decade under Pep Guardiola, and they have been the dominant team in the Premier League as well as achieving amazing things in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup."

23:40 CET - CONFIRMED - Fenerbahce have announced the signing of French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, who joins from Lazio on a deal that runs until the summer of 2030.

21:27 CET - According to Tutto Mercato, Roma have offered Man Utd striker Joshua Zirkzee a four-year deal, and are making progress in negotiating a loan move with the Premier League club that would include a €38 million obligation to buy.

18:14 CET - According to reports, Bournemouth are keen on a loan move for Arsenal winger Ethan Nwaneri, with the Cherries looking to reshape their attack following the exit of Antoine Semenyo.

16:25 CET - In a very interesting development, Arsenal are reportedly ready to join the race to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who is linked with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona!

Do the Gunners need more defenders? Probably not, but it seems everyone wants Guehi if they can get him.

16:20 CET - According to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa are close to signing 16-year-old talent Brian Madjo from French club Metz. Interestingly, Madjo is eligible for both England and Luxembourg at international level.

14:10 CET - In more Ajax news, the Amsterdam giants are looking to get Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte in on loan, Dutch media have reported.

13:43 CET - After being linked to Porto earlier in the window, Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor now looks to be on his way to Serie A outfit Lazio after a full agreement was reached on the transfer, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Ajax will reportedly receive €15 million, excluding add-ons, for the 23-year-old, who's set to sign a 3.5-year contract in the Italian capital.

11:15 CET - Here's an update on the Lennart Karl situation: Despite recently admitting that he would love to play for Real Madrid one day, the 17-year-old rising star is reportedly open to signing a new long-term contract with Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany.

17:04 CET - CONFIRMED - Some news from the English Championship, where Coventry City, gunning for promotion to the Premier League, have added Crystal Palace's Romain Esse to their squad.

19:15 CET - Joao Cancelo is closing in on a return to Barcelona! According to several reliable reports this evening, the LaLiga champions have sent a loan offer to Al Hilal, which is expected to be accepted.

Despite Inter Milan having made an offer, Cancelo's dream was to return to Barca, and it seems like he is about to get his wish.

15:28 CET - Sami Mokbel is reporting that Manchester City are considering making a move for in-demand Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

14:22 CET - CONFIRMED - Under-fire West Ham United have brought in a striking reinforcement to help them get out of relegation troubles.

They have signed Taty Castellanos from Lazio on a four-and-a-half-year deal with an option for one further year. The fee is set to be around 27 million pounds.

He has been targeted by head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and said to the club website: “I'm really happy because it's a very important challenge for me personally and I've come to contribute, to try to help the team as much as I can."

14:09 CET - It's been a tough day for those connected to Manchester United, and they could already be out of the race for highly-rated Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson.

According to Dean Jones, the England international is in high demand and is being rated at around 85 million pounds if a team want his services. The front-runner seems to be Manchester City, who have been given a boost with the departure of Ruben Amorim.

11:03 CET - Staying in Germany for our next update, where Mainz have reportedly inquired into the availability of Crystal Palace defender Borna Sosa.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the Croatian has no real motive to move on despite limited playing time.

10:04 CET - News coming in from our Danish correspondent Svend Frandsen, who has informed us of the news that Austrian international striker Michael Gregoritsch is undergoing a medical at Augsburg from Brondby.

The 31-year-old has already spent time at the Bundesliga outfit, having played five seasons with Augsburg. If the move is completed, it will be his third spell at the club.

23:30 CET - Here's the latest on the Joao Cancelo rumours, according to Fabrizio Romano: Inter are very keen on signing the Portuguese right-back from Al Hilal, says their CEO Giuseppe Marotta. 

However, the stumbling block seems to be the player's wages, plus the Saudi club want a centre-back, which could bring Francesco Acerbi or Stefan de Vrij into the deal as a makeweight.

20:55 CET - Bayern Munich's rapidly rising star Lennart Karl has issued a headline-grabbing come-and-get-me plea of sorts...

He's been quoted as saying: “Bayern is a very, very big club. It's a dream to play there. But at some point, I definitely want to go to Real Madrid."

20:05 CET - It’s not been Manchester United’s day... Earlier, Ruben Amorim’s side dropped points at Leeds, before the manager hit out at his detractors, and even the club’s hierarchy to a degree.

What's more, talkSport have reported that Amorim is unlikely to see any reinforcements brought in this month. And so the malaise goes on at the so-called ‘Theatre of Dreams’.

21:00 CET - Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Liverpool have completed a deal to sign 17-year-old defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe from Austria Vienna for the summer of 2026.

16:32 CET - CONFIRMED - Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur, paying a reported club-record £35 million for the player who scored the winner in the Europa League final last season.

16:23 CET - Harvey Elliot's loan spell at Aston Villa has not gone to plan. The Englishman has regularly been left out of Unai Emery's squad after making the move from Liverpool, and as a result, his loan is likely to be terminated.

However, because he has played for both teams this season, he will not be allowed to play for another club, leaving him in transfer limbo. 

According to The Athletic's James Pearce, though, MLS outfit Charlotte FC are keen on a temporary deal for Elliot, offering him a potential solution to his dilemma.

23:00 CET - Closing out the year, Fabrizio Romano had revealed that Neymar has agreed to sign a new one-year extension with Brazilian club Santos, which would keep him there until December 2026.

In other revelations, Romano has suggested that Brighton are on the verge of resigning Pascal Gross from Dortmund, and that Barcelona are exploring resigning Joao Cancelo from Al Hilal, but face competition from Inter.

20:50 CET - Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner gave little away in his press conference today regarding his club's pursuit of Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson.

"Tomorrow starts the next crazy month in football, and I don't know," said Glasner regarding their rumoured move for the Wales international. And he's not wrong, it will be crazy!

20:30 CET - Sky Sports has reported that Manchester United, Bayern Munich and PSG are all keeping tabs on RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande.

The 19-year-old Ivorian is valued at around €60-70 million, and has really shone in the Bundesliga this season.

20:00 CET - Despite being strongly linked with a move to Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank insists winger Brennan Johnson should feature for Spurs this week.

Does that mean the Wales international won't cross London permanently in January? Not necessarily... The Athletic reported earlier today that a fee has been agreed upon between the clubs.
