K-League wrap: Seoul go top, Jeonbuk held
11 August 2012 15:28
Seoul scored twice in the final minutes to beat Seongnam 3-2 and return to the summit of the K-League table as Jeonbuk Motors drew.
Heading into the match, Seoul were trailing Jeonbuk by a solitary point after their 3-3 draw at Jeju United on July 28 but a brace from K-League leading goalscorer Dejan Damjanovic inspired victory.
Damjanovic got the visitors off to a perfect start with his 13th-minute goal and Seoul would end the half a goal to the good.
However, their lead lasted just 12 minutes into the second half following an equaliser from Australian defender Brendan Hamill.
Yoon Bit-Garam put Seongnam ahead in the 70th minute but with top spot on the line, Seoul rallied to snatch all three points thanks to stoppage-time goals from Mauricio Molina and Damjanovic.
Seoul now top the division by a point after Jeonbuk played out a goalless draw at Busan I'Park.
Elsewhere on Saturday, the fourth-placed Suwon Bluewings cruised to a 3-1 victory at home to lowly Sangju Sangmu.
A brace from Dzenan Radoncic and a 79th-minute goal from Seo Jung-Jin ended Suwon's run of two games without a win.
Radoncic scored the first of his two goals eight minutes into the second half before Seo made it 2-0 with 11 minutes left.
The result was put beyond doubt seven minutes later through the ever present Radoncic, while Bang Dae-Jong managed a consolation goal in the dying moments.
Meanwhile, Gwangju extended Jeju United's winless run to five games following a 2-0 triumph at the Jeju World Cup Stadium.
