Neymar turns and throws a forearm into the face of Callens during a physical duel for the ball, which has drawn the referee’s attention. The forward is shown a yellow card for the infringement but he’s lucky it’s not a late sending off.
88'
Brazil look very happy to preserve their 2-0 lead and finish the matchday top of the group with a perfect record. It’s been a positive evening from Tite’s point of view as the Selecao have come through a tough and cagey contest, though it hasn’t been a vintage performance.

With just under 30 minutes to go in the match, Peru have shown very little in terms of attacking football. The Brazil midfield has been resolute and well-organised, with Militao marshalling the space behind Casemiro. They’ve given Lapadula and company very little joy this evening.

52'
Carrillo manages to get to the edge of the Brazil penalty area only to swing a lazy effort towards the penalty spot which is jumped on immediately by Verissimo.

BRAZIL HAVE THEIR SECOND! It’s a bit of a lucky goal but Neymar won’t complain as he’s on the spot at the far post after Ribeiro’s shot from the edge of the area is cleared off the lne by a defender, only to have it ricochet neatly to Neymar! 2-0!
38'
Y. Yotún gets yellow.
Yotun’s late challenge on Neymar earns the midfielder a yellow card.
37'
Brazil are knocking it around in midfield comfortably as they encourage Peru to chase and open gaps up in-behind. With a lead and less than 10 minutes to go until half-time, the hosts don’t look to be under any real pressure.
35'
R. Tapia gets yellow.
A late sliding challenge catches Neymar in midfield and earns Tapia a yellow card.
32'

27'
Cueva's ensuing corner is a poor one as Militao is allowed to hammer it away with a powerful header.

25'
Peru win a free-kick after Cueva is brought down 25 yards outside the penalty area.
24'
It’s one of those games as Peru are convinced they should receive a penalty for a push in the back on Advincula during the wing-back’s attempted cross towards the penalty spot. The referee, not for the first time this evening, instructs the players to continue as now the visitors are denied a spot-kick.
20'
Play resumes from the ensuing corner as the referee denies Gabriel's claims, but the set-piece is a poor one sent directly into the waiting arms of Gallese.
18'
Neymar plays a lovely chip in-between the Peru centre-backs for Gabriel, who latches onto the ball and has a strike at goal. Santamaria slides in and puts the ball behind for a corner, though the Brazil striker is adamant he should be awarded a handball.
16'
Peru’s players are furious with the referee, as they feel Neymar had committed a foul on Santamaria on the touchline, which allowed him to win the ball back in the lead up to the goal. The referee is in contact with VAR but it doesn’t appear as though it’ll be overturned as Brazil’s lead is confirmed!
14'
Éverton Ribeiro has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Neymar.
RIBEIRO PUTS BRAZIL AHEAD! Neymar wins the ball back high up the pitch on the left touchline and immediately drives towards goal before centring a low cross into the penalty area. The Flamengo winger shows up at the back post in perfect time and turns the ball over the line!
Neymar is at the centre of Brazil's creativity yet again as his pass created Ribeiro's goal.
13'
Peru win a free-kick to clear their lines after Paqueta’s elbow caught the head of Advincula just outside the Peru penalty area during an aerial duel. The Lyon midfielder narrowly escapes a yellow card.
11'
Gerson takes a strike from just inside the penalty area but Gallese makes himself big on the line and stops the ball with the outside of his arm.
9'
Peru are given a free-kick but it could have just as easily been a penalty to Brazil after Gallese rushes off his line to get to the ball before Sandro but instead clatters into the Juventus left-back. The referee is confident in his decision though Tite will feel aggrieved.
7'
A Peru corner from the left is only half-cleared, allowing the visitors to come forward again to put pressure on Weverton but Lapadula rushes his shot and sends the chance high over the crossbar.
5'
Beautiful attacking move as Gabriel comes short to play a first-time pass over the top of the defence for Paqueta, drawing Gallese out of his goal. The midfielder looks to pass it inside, but the Brazil attack are unable to scramble it into the open goal.
3'
Peru are off to a promising start, winning an early corner after Advincula’s low cross from the right was blocked out for a corner. The set-piece is a disappointing one however as Sandro is able to head it clear at the near post.

Brazil get the match underway from the kick-off!
Hello and welcome to our LIVE commentary of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier between Brazil and Peru!
Recife plays host to a Copa America semi-final rematch as top of the group Brazil square off against Peru just 66 days after the Selecao’s 1-0 victory in the penultimate stage of the South American championship. Tite will be looking to put the hijinx of last Sunday behind him as his side look to make it eight wins in eight qualification matches.
Peru have earned four points from their two fixtures so far this international break, with a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Uruguay seven days ago followed up by a 1-0 victory over Venezuela. Outside of the guaranteed World Cup places by four points ahead of tonight’s CONMEBOL fixtures, Ricardo Gareca will be hoping for a Blanquirroja win against the Selecao for the first time outside of friendlies since 2016.
PERU SUBS: Carlos Caceda, Jose Carvallo, Luis Abram, Aldo Corzo, Miguel Trauco, Christian Ramos, Raziel Garcia, Gabriel Costa, Gerald Tavara, Edison Flores, Wilder Cartagena, Raul Ruidiaz.
PERU XI (5-4-1): Pedro Gallese; Luis Advincula, Anderson Santamaria, Alexander Callens, Yoshimar Yotun, Marcos Lopez; Andre Carrillo, Renato Tapia, Christopher Gonzales, Christian Cueva; Gianluca Lapadula.
BRAZIL SUBS: Aderbar Santos, Everson, Leo Ortiz, Miranda, Guilherme Arana, Bruno Guimaraes, Dani Alves, Edenilson, Vinicius Junior, Matheus Cunha, Hulk, Artur Guimaraes.
BRAZIL XI (4-4-2): Weverton; Alex Sandro, Lucas Verissimo, Eder Miltao, Danilo; Everton Ribeiro, Casemiro, Gerson, Lucas Paqueta; Neymar, Gabriel Barbosa.
With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, let's take a look at how the two sides are lining up - starting with our hosts!
Gareca is left with little alternative as his side are forced to chase the match in the second half. Ruidiaz will be looking to make an impact off the bench in what would be his 50th cap, as Lapadula has done nothing to involve himself in the match. Brazil will no doubt make changes and break up play, which could cause frustration for the visiting players.
That concludes our commentary of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying match between Brazil and Peru! We hope you’ve enjoyed it.
Brazil will get their campaign restarted on October 6 when they travel to Venezuela. Peru host Chile on the same evening.
