Bayern have lost just one game so far this season, against Hoffenheim and they are second Bundesliga, however, they are only one point behind RB Leipzig at the top. They finished top of their Champions League group in midweek, with an impressive 16 points, following a 2-0 win over Lokomotiv Moscow.
Meanwhile Union Berlin are eighth, having drawn and lost their last two games, against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha Berlin. However, prior to these two games that had won three on the bounce to propel them up the table.
