Liverpool suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat against Atalanta last time out in the Champions League, but they are still top of Group D on nine points, after winning their first three games. However, it is a tight race as Ajax and Atalanta are only two points behind them on seven points, so it is all to play for.
Ajax lost the first game between Liverpool, suffering a 1-0 defeat, but since then they have drawn against Atalanta and then beating Midtjylland twice. The visitors are in good form, having won their last six Eredivise games and the lead the way at the table at the table, having lost just once so far.

Liverpool secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League with a 1-0 victory over Ajax after a second half goal from Jones, following a mistake by Onana. There should have been more goals, with both teams having some excellent chances, Firmino and Salah going closest for the hosts. Meanwhile Antony and Neres had some great opportunities for the visitors, before Kelleher pulled off a superb stop to deny Huntelaar late on.
