Penalty goal scored by R. Bensebaïni for Borussia M'gladbach!
Thiago Alcântara gets yellow.
Thiago is booked in the aftermath for his protestations.
GOAL! NO DOUBT FROM BENSEBAINI! It’s a double today for the left-back, who smashes the penalty into the bottom-right side of the goal! Neuer had no chance as Borussia Monchengladbach take the lead!
90'
Javi Martínez gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
PENALTY FOR BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH! WHAT A MISTAKE FROM MARTINEZ! Thuram breaks into the penalty area unopposed, forcing Martinez to come across. The substitute leaps into a slide tackle and mistimes it - catching the man instead of the ball! Can the hosts take the lead in stoppage time?!
The sliding tackle earns Martinez a second yellow card - and he's given his marching orders! Bayern are down to 10 men!
88'
D. Zakaria gets yellow.
A late, cynical slide tackle from Zakaria on Muller earns the Borussia holding midfielder a yellow card.
87'
Raffael takes the free-kick, attempting to find Bensebaini, but it’s not to be this time for the left-back.
86'
R. Lewandowski gets yellow.
Lewandowki takes Raffael down from behind and earns a yellow card in a late show of frustration. Borussia have a free-kick from which to work.
85'
Raffael enters the game and replaces L. Stindl.
The experience of Raffael will be leaned on in the final five minutes, as Stindl is replaced.
84'
Thuram, in an impressive show of strength, holds both Kimmich and Muller off while fighting to shield the ball from going out on the touchline. The crafty forward ends up winning his side a throw, which will allow a substitution.
82'
Javi Martínez gets yellow.
Martinez is booked for a cynical foul on Stindl which prevented him from turning.
80'
With 10 minutes remaining, both sides can claim that they are deserving of the victory. The hosts have done tremendously well to push the initiative and take control of the match after a first period dominated by Bayern. Will we see a late, desperate winner from either side?
Minute
Description
76'
Perisic sends Lainer in the wrong direction with an incredible step-over before firing a low, powerful delivery across the six-yard box in search of a team-mate. Elvedi marks Lewandowski tightly which stifles his run, allowing the ball to exit the box on the other side.
74'
Stindl intelligently wins a free-kick in midfield after using his body to shield against the threat of Lewandowski. It breaks up play and ends a sloppy passage for both sides, while also getting the hosts on the attack. With just over 15 minutes left, it will be interesting to see if either look to settle for a draw.
70'
Herrmann clips the free-kick to the far post for the run of Elvedi, but the sliding defender is unable to get anything more than a touch to the ball before it rolls out of bounds.
69'
Muller lunges into a sliding challenge and gives away a free-kick 30 yards outside his goal in a central position. Borussia Monchengladbach look to be piling on the pressure here! What a change in fortunes!
68'
Javi Martínez enters the game and replaces J. Boateng.
A second Bayern Munich change of the match sees Boateng replaced by Martinez in defence.
66'
J. Hofmann gets yellow.
Hofmann gets beaten for pace by Coman, and nips in to take him down. It earns the Borussia midfielder a yellow card.
64'
P. Herrmann enters the game and replaces A. Pléa.
Plea is moving extremely awkwardly as he looks to be having an ankle problem. The coach decides not to give him any time to run it off as Herrmann is introduced.
Hofmann delivers another fantastic set-piece from the free-kick after Boateng’s foul, but Herrmann puts it just over with his head from a central position! That really could have been the chance to put Borussia ahead!
62'
J. Boateng gets yellow.
Boateng is booked for a bodycheck on Embolo. Since Rose's introduction of the Swiss international, the match has been turned upside down!
60'
R. Bensebaïni has scored a goal for Borussia M'gladbach! Assist by J. Hofmann.
Hofmann centres the ball to Stindl, but the right-footed curler is blocked effortlessly. The home support are bouncing, singing in full voice as their team are having a good spell of pressure following the Embolo substitution.
IT’S A GOAL! THE HOME SUPPORT HAVE BEEN REWARDED FOR THEIR SUPPORT! Bensebaini is allowed to take a full run-up in anticipation of Hofmann’s corner-kick. The midfielder finds the full-back inside the penalty area with fantastic accuracy, and Bensebaini obliges with a thumping header! 1-1!
Hofmann's fantastic corner was just what his side needed after some poor set-pieces earlier. The cross to Bensebaini is the assist!
58'
B. Embolo enters the game and replaces L. Bénes.
Already booked, Rose withdraws Benes for Embolo in a forward-thinking change.
57'
Borussia Monchengladbach have a chance to create something from a set-piece with a corner, but it’s a terribly taken set-piece, caught easily by Neuer who was unmoved.
55'
Thiago looks for the run of Perisic behind the Borussia defence, but his chip is repelled by the airborne Zakaria, who is tasked with shielding the back four.
51'
Should Borussia successfully come through the difficult task of getting something from this match - their credentials as potential title-winners will be quite enhanced. With Bayern Munich in the ascendency, it will be tough to turn the tide.
49'
I. Perišić has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by T. Müller.
BAYERN GO AHEAD EARLY IN THE SECOND HALF! The substitute gets the breakthrough after cutting inside and finding Muller. Perisic receives a return pass and hits it on the swivel, catching it perfectly with a left-footed half-volley high into the net! Sommer got a fist towards it - but his wrist was too weak to keep it out! 1-0 Bayern Munich!
It's two goal contributions in two games for Muller - as he followed up last weeks' goal with an assist for Perisic's finish today.
46'
Borussia get the second half underway from the kick-off!
The fourth official indicates two additional minutes of time to be added on.
42'
With less than five minutes remaining in the first half, Bayern will surely be frustrated that all their good attacking work has resulted in nought so far. They’ve certainly been the more expansive, showing endeavour going forward at every opportunity. They probably deserve a lead at this point in the match - but they’ve been thoroughly unable to beat Sommer.
40'
In a great representation of Bayern Munich’s first half as a whole, Coman does well to get around three Borussia defenders, jinking free and opening up some space inside the box to have a shot - but his final effort is a weak and tame strike that is easily collected by the goalkeeper.
38'
Davies gets away from Plea on the edge of the Borussia 18-yard box and puts a cross into the area, looking for two unmarked team-mates, but Ginter’s heroic leaping header keeps his goalkeeper protected.
34'
Lainer finally gets his side up the pitch and puts a cross into the penalty area - but a lack of team-mates attacking the 18-yard box and the extreme range of Neuer meant the ball belonged only to the goalkeeper.
32'
Kimmich’s corner is beaten away by the head of Ginter - who was emphatically first to the ball. Play is stopped after the initial clearance though as Thuram looks to be struggling after receiving an elbow in the side from Lewandowski.
30'
Kimmich leads Coman down the right with a leading pass, but his first-time cross is left begging, as Lewandowski’s audacious scissor-kick flies harmlessly wide of the net.
26'
Coman jinks past Bensebaini and flicks it invitingly for a team-mate on the penalty spot - but Ginter is able to get a touch to it. The defender delivers it right to the foot of Muller, but his well-placed effort is pushed aside by the alert Sommer.
22'
Davies gets into the Monchengladbach penalty area and chips it to the opposite corner for Coman. Not known for his aerial abilities - the France international can only pop it into the air for Sommer to catch.
20'
I. Perišić enters the game and replaces C. Tolisso.
It’s not like for like, as Flick replaces Tolisso with Perisic - who does most of his work down the flank. Muller will likely pull inside, allowing the Croatia international to patrol the wing.
19'
Borussia Monchengladbach put the ball out of play sportingly as Tolisso goes to ground and waves to the sideline. It’s a non-contact injury for the midfielder who is holding the back of his left leg - which cannot be a good sign. A substitution looks forthcoming.
18'
Bensebaini looks to split the Bayern defence with a disguised pass through for Thuram, but Thiago extends his back leg and intercepts intelligently.
14'
Lewandowski bursts through the centre and looks to get towards the penalty area - but Ginter comes across to bring the striker down. Bayern have a free-kick in a good area!
10'
Bayern Munich have grown into the match, with their full-backs really helping the forward charge. Davies may be caught out of position defensively once or twice - as was the case against Bayer Leverkusen - but his ability to push forward and help Coman will be invaluable.
6'
L. Bénes gets yellow.
Benes is shown a very early card for an absolutely absurd challenge on Davies. The midfielder raked his studs down the leg of the full-back, who has remained down on the ground receiving treatment.
3'
Most of the play in the early stages is occurring inside the Bayern half - though Plea is caught offside in a good position on the right. The hosts look confident in the early stages!
1'
Bayern Munich get the match underway from the kick-off!
Hello and welcome to our live commentary of the Bundesliga fixture between Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich!
With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, let's take a look at the team news - starting with the hosts!

BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH SUBS: Tobias Sippel, Florian Neuhaus, Patrick Herrmann, Christoph Kramer, Breel Embolo, Oscar Wendt, Tobias Strobl, Raffael, Tony Jantschke.
BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH XI (4-3-1-2): Yann Sommer; Ramy Bensebaini, Nico Elvedi, Matthias Ginter, Stefan Lainer; Jonas Hofmann, Denis Zakaria, Laszlo Benes; Lars Stindl; Marcus Thuram, Alassane Plea.
BAYERN MUNICH SUBS: Ivan Perisic, Serge Gnabry, Benjamin Pavard, Sven Ulreich, Javi Martinez, Philippe Coutinho, Michael Cuisance.
It’s not every day that Borussia Monchengladbach play the role of league-leading hosts, but Marco Rose’s revolution has seen them win eight of 10 matches - shooting the hosts all the way into sole first place - a point above Leipzig in second and four ahead of Bayern in fourth. With four matches to go before the midway point in the season - the three points today would go a long way in helping Borussia Monchengladbach secure the title of Herbstmeister.
After suffering an unlikely defeat at home to Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, Hansi Flick will have to get his side back on track with a victory at the home of the pace-setters. The double from Leon Bailey were the first goals conceded by Bayern after their dismissal of Niko Kovac, though with injuries to Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez, the pace of Alassane Plea and Marcus Thuram could punish the Bavarians.
Rose, evidently, watched the film of Bayern Munich’s match last week, as Monchengladbach look happy to just sit and soak up pressure before hitting with pace on the counter. It hasn’t provided many opportunities yet though, as Flick’s XI have been good in getting back after sustained attacking pressure. With both Embolo and Herrmann on the bench - the manager has the necessary tools to take the lead. The same can be said for Bayern who have already used one switch, with both Coutinho and Gnabry waiting in the wings.
That concludes our commentary of the Bundesliga fixture between Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich! We hope you enjoyed it!
Borussia are back in action on Thursday, when they host Istanbul Basaksehir in the Europa League before a weekend Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg. Bayern Munich host Tottenham in midweek Champions League action before their fixture on Saturday against Werder Bremen.
