Inter are the side knocking on the door for a late winner. Smalling has been great at the back for Roma today and is thankful to see the offside flag go up. That should be that!
90' +1
Three minutes have been added on at San Siro, the first of which has passed by with little incident.
90'
Inter win a free-kick in a good crossing position. Everyone is up but Lazaro's delivery is pretty poor and Mirante collects.
89'
A. Florenzi enters the game and replaces H. Mkhitaryan.
Roma also make their final change, with Florenzi on for Mkhitaryan to provide some fresh legs for the visitors.
88'
D. D'Ambrosio enters the game and replaces C. Biraghi.
D'Ambrosio is brought on for Biraghi in Inter's third and final change of the contest.
87'
Brozovic picks out the run of Vecino down the right, and the cross to the edge of the six-yard box is crying out for Martinez to convert. The striker fails to make any contact, though, and the ball deflects off Mancini for Mirante to collect.
86'
Vecino's cross from the right is far too close to Mirante, who has a comfortable catch to make. It is just not working for Inter today.
85'
Lukaku gets on the end of Biraghi's cross but is unable to direct it goalwards. The officials initially award a corner, but it is soon established that the ball came off Lukaku's shoulder last.
83'
Conte could do with making a change because his side are looking incredibly flat at the moment. Lukaku has not offered a great deal and nothing seems to be paying off for Martinez alongside him. As for Roma, they need to keep doing what they have been doing.
Minute
Description
80'
M. Brozović gets yellow.
Brozovic is booked for a challenge on Spinazzola. Roma have bossed possession for a good five minutes.
79'
Spinazzola, who has been everywhere today, picks out Zaniolo with a good pass from the right. Zaniolo initially does well to hold it up but is unable to get a shot away or pick out a team-mate.
77'
G. Mancini gets yellow.
Mancini is caught out by Martinez and wrestles his opponent to the ground. He will now miss Roma's meeting with SPAL next week.
76'
Roma have not really made the most of Dzeko's introduction. Diawara wins back the ball for his side but Zaniolo is unable to capitalise. Both managers have one more substitution available should they wish to use it.
74'
It is turning out to be an incredibly frustrating contest for Conte's men. They are the side in control of the match, but they are struggling to find a way through. Play is broken up by Mancini's foul on Brozovic.
72'
K. Asamoah enters the game and replaces Borja Valero.
Valero is off and Asamoah on in Inter's second change of the contest.
71'
The ball falls at the feet of Dzeko but, having only just entered the fray, he is unable to control it. Pellegrini then has a go from 25 yards, his shot being blocked by Valero.
70'
INTER PENALTY APPEAL REJECTED! Martinez controls a ball over the top and is through on goal. Spinazzola manages to make up some ground to charge down the shot, which appears to come off his lower leg and then his arm. The referee waves away the penalty appeals and the replays justify that decision.
68'
E. Džeko enters the game and replaces D. Perotti.
Dzeko, who has been struggling with illness, replaces Perotti for the final 20 minutes or so.
67'
This has been a good spell on the ball for Roma. They have not offered much of an attacking threat in the second half but they do at least look settled at the back.
66'
Biraghi lets fly on the half-volley from just outside the box. Even if it had gone in, it would have been ruled out for offside against Godin in the build-up.
65'
Kolarov takes no risks as he heads the ball behind for a corner under pressure from Martinez. The corner is worked short and cut out by Zaniolo for another set-piece when the cross does eventually arrive.
63'
The angle is against Pellegrini but he still has a go. Lukaku, stood in front of goal, heads the ball clear.
62'
V. Lazaro gets yellow.
Lazaro joins Inter team-mate Godin in the referee's book for a foul on Kolarov. Further punishment could follow as Roma have a free-kick in a good position.
61'
D. Godín gets yellow.
Godin pulls back on the shirt of Zaniolo to become the first player to be shown a yellow card.
Godin plays an angled ball into the box but Martinez - perhaps intending to head the ball towards Vecino - gets his contact all wrong and Mirante gathers.
60'
An hour has been played at San Siro, where the two sides are cancelling each other out. On the face of it, this would surely be considered a very good point for Roma. As for Inter, dropped points here will allow champions Juventus to pounce when they play their game in hand.
58'
Kolarov sends in a dangerous cross, which is just out of the reach of two of his team-mates in the centre of the box. The second half has been very open so far, with both teams seeking a breakthrough goal.
56'
Spinazzola senses the danger and gets back to beat Lukaku to the ball. The Belgium international would have been clean through if not for Spinazzola's intervention.
55'
Brozovic plays the ball forward, Vecino fires in a cross and Martinez hooks a shot over the bar. That was a good move from Inter, who have injected a bit more pace into their game in this second half. Up the other end, Zaniolo's volley deflects behind.
49'
Despite being all of 30 yards out, Kolarov has an attempt at goal but cannot get enough dip on the ball. Handanovic watches it all the way over his crossbar.
47'
Skriniar bashes his knee against Mkhitaryan's and comes out second best. Thankfully for Conte, the defender looks as though he will be able to shake it off.
46'
RESTART! Roma, who edged possession in the first half, get us back under way at San Siro! Neither manager has made any further changes at the interval.
45' +3
HALF-TIME: INTER 0-0 ROMA
45' +2
V. Lazaro enters the game and replaces A. Candreva.
Candreva is unable to see out the rest of the first half, his game curtailed by a back injury. Lazaro is on in his place.
ANOTHER PENALTY SHOUT! Lukaku flicks the ball on and Martinez would have been clean through if not for Mancini, who is all over his opponent. However, the referee awards the free-kick in Roma's favour for handball against Martinez.
45' +1
Smalling gets his head to Biraghi's cross as Roma continue to hold Inter at arm's length. Candreva looks as though he will stay on until half-time, with three minutes added on here.
45'
Candreva is looking a little groggy and may well have to be replaced before half-time. Not ideal for Conte!
42'
CHANCE FOR INTER! Perotti's back-pass puts his side under pressure as Vecino pounces. Rather than shooting from seven yards out, he tries to pull the ball back for Lukaku, but Smalling makes the block.
40'
The home side are continuing with their policy of playing it out from the back. Once they get into the middle, though, they are seemingly unsure what to do with it.
39'
Inter are still struggling to create any real chances as we edge ever closer to half-time at San Siro. Lukaku and Martinez have had 19 touches of the ball between them in the opening 39 minutes.
37'
PENALTY SHOUT! Biraghi puts the ball through the legs of Spinazzola. The Inter defender then throws himself to the ground under minimal contact from his opponent. The hosts want a penalty but the referee says no.
35'
Brozovic, rather disappointingly, fires a free-kick into the Roma wall. Inter win a corner which Perotti heads into the air. The match is evenly balanced at this point.
33'
JUST WIDE! Valero returns the ball to Martinez inside the box and the latter's snapshot is just wide of the far post. All of a sudden, Inter are looking far more like a side sitting top of the table.
32'
Five Inter players are flagged for offside from the corner. Conte's men are finally starting to grow into the match, but they have not offered a great deal in the attacking third since Lukaku's chance inside the first eight minutes.
30'
Smalling heads clear a cross from the left and Diawara then heads behind when Candreva gets in a cross from the opposite flank. From the next attacking move, Valero drives into the box and his pass is helped behind for another corner.
28'
Smalling pops up in the Inter box and sends in a cross, which is intercepted. Prior to Smalling's foray forward, Mkhitaryan caused some panic with his cutback. Inter are really struggling to get the ball out of their own half.
26'
Pass, pass, pass for Roma, with their opponents unable to get a foot on the ball. The visitors have had 60 per cent of possession, in fact, which not many would have predicted before the match. Conte cannot be happy with what he is seeing.
24'
Perotti works some space in a left-sided position inside the opposition box, but his cross is aimed towards nobody in particular and goes straight through without a touch. Roma are very much playing like the home side.
22'
Roma are looking assured in possession and have been the side on top over the last five minutes. Kolarov picks out Perotti, who is unable to find Zaniolo in the centre. Inter need to wake up!
20'
GOOD ATTEMPT! Inter have looked very shaky at the back early on. The hosts struggle to get the ball clear and Zaniolo turns on the edge of the box before getting a shot away, which Handanovic keeps out at the second attempt.
18'
Inter have not really got going so far. That said, if not for an impressive Mirante stop to deny Lukaku, they would have been ahead. Roma will look to continue doing what they are doing.
16'
L. Spinazzola enters the game and replaces D. Santon.
Santon hobbles off the field, with Spinazzola the man to take over in a like-for-like change.
15'
Santon has pulled up with nobody around him. It looks to be a muscular issue, one that could spell the end of his time on the pitch.
14'
Kolarov does well to stick with Candreva and cut out the cross from the right. Candreva punches the corner clear and Roma have a chance to break, but the attack soon fizzles out.
13'
That really was a fine save from veteran keeper Mirante a little earlier. Lukaku has been in great form this term and would have been confident of converting from inside the box.
10'
SHOT! Lukaku and Martinez are unable to convert the corner at the back post, though it would have been ruled out for offside. Up the other end, Handanovic comfortably keeps out Perotti's strike.
6'
Godin floats a long ball over the top of Roma's defence but Martinez is flagged for offside - it looked tight but the officials got the decision correct.
5'
Skriniar is not looking all that comfortable at the moment, the Inter defending seemingly carrying an injury. The home side have seen a lot of the ball early on but we await the first attempt.
3'
Zaniolo shows great strength to shrug off De Vrij but Godin gets across to stop his run, at the expense of a corner. Zaniolo is playing out of position today, but the early signs have been positive.
1'
KICK-OFF! Inter get us up and running in the opening Serie A match of the weekend! Both sides are in great form, setting up what should be an entertaining clash.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Serie A meeting between Inter and Roma at San Siro.
Roma have won back-to-back league matches - 3-0 at home to Brescia and 3-1 away at Hellas Verona - to move into fifth, level on points with Cagliari in the final Champions League qualification spot. Like opposite number Conte, Paulo Fonseca has done a good job since replacing Claudio Ranieri and the aim now is to continue climbing the table ahead of the mid-season break.
INTER STARTING XI (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic (c); Diego Godin, Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar; Antonio Candreva, Matias Vecino, Borja Valero, Marcelo Brozovic, Cristiano Biraghi; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.

ROMA STARTING XI (4-2-3-1): Antonio Mirante; Davide Santon, Gianluca Mancini, Chris Smalling, Aleksandar Kolarov; Amadou Diawara, Jordan Veretout; Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Lorenzo Pellegrini (c), Diego Perotti; Nicolo Zaniolo.
The teams are coming out onto the pitch at San Siro, with kick-off just moments away.
Inter lead the way at the top of Serie A after winning 12 of their opening 14 matches, including a run of five successive victories heading into this clash with fifth-placed Roma. Antonio Conte has made an immediate impact since taking over as head coach in the close season, but the question is whether his side can last the pace and deny Juventus - one point worse off in second - a ninth Scudetto in a row.
Inter, who also had a couple of penalty shouts rejected, lost Candreva to injury late on in the first half. Roma were also forced into a first-half substitution, Spinazzola replacing Santon early on. Both managers will no doubt take positives from that first half, with the match finely poised. This one really could go either way!
That's all for today's live coverage. Thanks for joining!
Inter stretch their lead over Juventus at the top of Serie A to two points, but the reigning champions can now regain control of first place if they beat Lazio in their game in hand on Saturday. Conte's men travel to Fiorentina for their next league outing in nine days' time, but first is the small matter of a home match against Barcelona in the Champions League. As for Roma, they host Wolfsberger in the Europa League on Thursday and then take on SPAL three days later.
