Zaniolo is cautioned late in the match for a foul on Costa. Roma have about 60 seconds to find a dramatic equaliser at the home of the champions.
90' +1
GOOOAAALLLL!! Juventus 2-0 Roma! That should do it! Ronaldo gets the better of his man down the right and centres the ball for Costa to prod past Olsen from a few yards out. There could be some drama, though, as VAR is being consulted...
Brilliant assist play from Ronaldo to work enough space to get the cross into the middle, where substitute Costa was waiting to pounce.
90'
SAVE! Szczesny has not had an awful lot to do today, but he has to be alert to keep out this header from Cristante. The Roma midfielder does well to generate some power on the ball when it arrived to him 12 yards from goal, though it was not quite in the top corner and Szczesny plucks it out of the air.
88'
BLOCK! Not for the first time in this second half, Chiellini gets in the way of a Zaniolo shot. The Roma midfielder was in acres of space on the edge of the box, but he sends his shot too close to Chiellini and the chance goes begging.
86'
Juventus should have put the game out of sight, and would have done so if not for some top-class saves from Olsen, which means that it is still all to play for late on here.
81'
P. Schick gets yellow.
An unhappy Schick goes in on Chiellini and becomes the second Roma player to see yellow.
80'
Douglas Costa enters the game and replaces P. Dybala.
Allegri also turns to his bench by introducing Costa for Dybala. That's three changes made by Roma and two by Juventus.
79'
E. Džeko enters the game and replaces S. Nzonzi.
Dzeko is introduced with around 10 minutes to play, taking over from Nzonzi for the closing stages. Roma have been too blunt in attack today - will this change make any difference?
78'
Mandzukic's goal is proving to be the difference between the sides, and the Croatia striker also deserves credit for his defensive aspect of the game. Juve are being put under a fair bit of pressure now, though every ball that comes into the box is being dealt with.
Minute
Description
75'
Juventus have had a couple of shots on target in this second half, both coming via Ronaldo, while Roma have tested Szczesny once. The visitors have seen plenty of the ball over the past few minutes, without being able to create anything.
73'
Mandzukic must be running on empty - he has been everywhere today! Juventus are just going through the motions at the moment as they close in on another Serie A victory.
71'
D. Perotti enters the game and replaces C. Ünder.
E. Can enters the game and replaces M. Pjanić.
Perotti is brought on for Roma in the visitors' second change of the match. Under is the player to make way.
Can is brought on for Pjanic in a like-for-like change in central midfield, with Allegri keen to freshen things up for the final 20 minutes.
70'
Chiellini helps the ball over the line from a couple of yards out, but the referee was always going to blow for a free-kick as the defender barged into the Roma keeper when coming to collect a corner. It looks as though Allegri is about to make his first change of the match...
68'
A little over 20 minutes to go in Turin and Juventus are having to protect a slender lead. Allegri's men have not had things all their own way in this final Serie A match before Christmas, but they have looked comfortable at the back over the last 10 minutes.
66'
Nzonzi can consider himself fortunate to still be on the pitch. The midfielder has been walking a disciplinary tightrope since being cautioned 40 minutes in and has produced a series of niggling fouls since then.
65'
Ronaldo goes to ground under contact inside the opposition box, but his mood is not improved when he looks up and sees that the referee has given the decision against his side for a handball infringement. A number of the home side's players are starting to look frustrated.
63'
Roma may have been more of an attacking threat in this second half, but Juventus can have no excuses if they are pegged back. The hosts have just squandered a couple of glorious chances through star man Ronaldo, with Olsen very much coming out on top in that personal battle.
59'
CHANCE! Ronaldo helps out in defence by sticking a boot out to divert a Roma free-kick behind for a corner. Fazio gets on the end of the latest set-piece but heads it straight at Szczesny - that has to go down as a chance.
57'
ATTEMPT! Ronaldo's header from Alex Sandro's deep cross ends a good yard or two over the bar. Roma are edging the possession in the second half - 56% to Juve's 44% - but they are not doing a great deal with the ball in the areas of the field where it truly matters.
55'
It has been a quiet opening 10 minutes to the second half. Roma have tweaked their system and are a lot more direct, which is posing one or two questions for the league leaders.
53'
Ronaldo fires wide of goal after Dybala was brought down by Nzonzi outside the box. The referee agrees that it was a foul, but believes the advantage was played through that Ronaldo shot.
49'
There have already been a couple of stray passes from Juve in the early stages of the second half. Roma have a lot more intensity about them, meanwhile, starting the second period the better of the two sides.
47'
Chiellini produces a brilliant, and indeed trademark, block to prevent Zaniolo's long-range drive from finding the target.
46'
J. Kluivert enters the game and replaces A. Florenzi.
Di Francesco turns to his bench at the interval by taking off Florenzi and bringing on Kluivert, who scored his first Serie A goal in Roma's last outing.
Roma, trailing to Mandzukic's header 10 minutes before half-time, get us back underway at the Allianz Stadium!
45' +1
HALF-TIME: JUVENTUS 1-0 ROMA
45'
Matuidi is played clean through on goal but is unable to control the ball before being dispossessed. Not that it would have counted had he found the net - the offside flag went up on the far side to spare the midfielder's blushes.
44'
BETTER FROM ROMA! Schick closes down Chiellini and is rewarded as the ball falls in his side's favour. Nzonzi does well to get his head to the ball when it is sent into the box, but it is nothing more than a routine stop for Szczesny in the Juve goal.
42'
Ronaldo makes a mockery of Roma's defence by weaving between a few men, before blazing a shot wide of target when off balance. The visitors have been pretty poor in this first half.
40'
S. Nzonzi gets yellow.
Nzonzi becomes the first player to be shown a yellow card following a challenge on goalscorer Mandzukic.
39'
Roma have failed to threaten the champions all match, but that has to change in the remaining 50 minutes or so if they are to leave here with a share of the spoils.
37'
A deserved lead for Juve, Allegri will argue, having created a few half-decent opportunities prior to that back-post header from Mandzukic. Santon with yet more poor defending from this latest attack, but Ronaldo is unable to find the target from his shot.
35'
M. Mandžukić has scored a goal for Juventus! Assist by M. De Sciglio.
GOOOAAALLL!! Juventus 1-0 Roma! Mandzukic ends Roma's resistance by heading home De Sciglio's cross at the back post. As simple as you like from the hosts' perspective - De Sciglio stood the ball up and Mandzukic got to it ahead of Santon.
Mandzukic has made a career from scoring goals like this at the back post. De Sciglio knew that if he stuck the ball in the right zone his team-mate would likely be there, and so it proved as Santon was punished for his static defending.
34'
RONALDO DENIED! The Portugal forward does not tend to miss too many openings form this range. After working a shooting position on his right foot, Ronaldo's curler is pushed aside by Olsen, who is having an impressive game.
32'
WAYWARD! Alex Sandro lines another one up. This latest shot, unlike the previous two, is off target, but it nearly turns into an assist for Ronaldo. The Portuguese tries to get his head on the end of it to no avail.
30'
Half an hour played in Turin and the game has become evenly matched. Juventus have had close to 62% possession so far and have had two shots on target to their opponents' one.
28'
Roma's turn to put their opponents under some pressure. Alex Sandro miscues his clearance but Under did not read it, with the ball going behind. Juventus have completely lost their momentum over the last 10 minutes.
26'
It looks as though Allegri has swapped around his forward players, putting Dybala and Ronaldo on the opposite flank to the one they started on. The hosts are just struggling to break down Roma at the moment.
24'
Still goalless at the Allianz Stadium, but it has been a pretty lively match so far. Both keepers have had saves to make, though Olsen has undoubtedly been busier than opposite number Szczesny.
22'
Incredibly, Juve have already had nine corners in the opening quarter of the match. This latest set-piece comes to little, but when the ball arrives back in the box Ronaldo attempts an audacious overhead kick that is high and wide.
20'
SHOT! Schick does well to turn 16 yards from goal and get a shot away, which lacks any sort of power to beat Szczesny. Juve break up the other end and win themselves another corner.
17'
The game is going through a quiet spell at the moment. Juventus are continuing to dominate possession, but they are not really managing to get in behind the Roma backline.
15'
Olsen's save from Alex Sandro's close-range shot remains the only clear-cut opening that the home side have fashioned so far. Matuidi's centre is gathered by Olsen before Mandzukic can get on the end of it.
13'
Roma are struggling to contain their opponents. Juve's attacking players are getting on the ball high up the field and you sense that it is only a matter of time before they make a telling difference.
9'
Chiellini leaps highest to meet Dybala's corner, sending his header spinning wide of the target. Juventus are really starting to knock on the door now, with less than 10 minutes played.
6'
SHOT! Zaniolo wins the ball from Bentancur and lays it off for Nzonzi, who sends a shot high over the crossbar. A poor effort, but that is the first time Roma have got at their opponents.
4'
Roma have been unable to get out of their own half of the field so far. Juve are knocking the ball around and patiently probing away in search of an opener.
2'
Ninety seconds on the clock on Juventus nearly find a way through. Mandzukic hooks the ball back across goal, but Manolas is well positioned to head it clear from pretty much under the crossbar.
1'
Juventus get us underway in the final Serie A game before Christmas!
OLSEN KEEPS OUT RONALDO! Olsen is having a stormer in the Roma goal - it would have been game over a long time ago if not for the Swedish goalkeeper. Ronaldo's glancing header from close range is helped behind, and the ex-Real Madrid man is then denied with his volley from five yards.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Serie A clash between Juventus and Roma at the Allianz Stadium. The defending champions have won seven league games in a row and are five points clear of closest challengers Napoli at the top of the table with this game in hand to play.
Napoli managed to overcome SPAL 1-0 a little earlier to put a little pressure on Juve, though Massimiliano Allegri's side are still strong favourites to come out on top in their penultimate home match of 2018 to open up that eight-point gap. Roma may have defeated Genoa 3-2 last time out, meanwhile, but they have otherwise been poor over the last two months, collecting just 10 points from the last 24 on offer.
Juventus subs: Leonardo Spinazzola, Federico Bernardeschi, Daniele Rugani, Sami Khedira, Douglas Costa, Emre Can, Moise Kean, Mattia Perin, Medhi Benatia, Carlo Pinsoglio
JUVENTUS XI (4-3-3): Wojciech Szczesny; Mattia De Sciglio, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini (c), Alex Sandro; Rodrigo Bentancur, Miralem Pjanic, Blaise Matuidi; Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Cristiano Ronaldo
ROMA XI (4-2-3-1): Robin Olsen; Davide Santon, Kostas Manolas, Federico Fazio, Aleksandar Kolarov; Bryan Cristante, Steven Nzonzi; Alessandro Florenzi (c), Nicolo Zaniolo, Cengiz Under; Patrik Schick
Roma subs: Ivan Marcano, Rick Karsdorp, Justin Kluivert, Javier Pastore, Juan Jesus, Daniel Fuzato, Luca Pellegrini, Diego Perotti, Antonio Mirante, Edin Dzeko
The two teams are now out on the field at the Allianz Stadium and we are moments away from kick-off. Juventus have dropped points just once this season, coming in a 1-1 home draw with Genoa two months ago, leaving them well on course to win an eighth consecutive Scudetto. Roma, by comparison, have struggled in the first half of the season and are down in ninth ahead of this match.
Juventus take a deserved one-goal lead into the interval thanks to Mandzukic's back-post header 35 minutes in - the Croatia international outjumping a static Santon to get on the end of De Sciglio's cross for his eighth league goal of the campaign. The home side also came close through a couple of Alex Sandro efforts, while Ronaldo was denied by opposition keeper Olsen moments before the breakthrough goal.
The Italian champions will probably feel that they should be a couple of goals to the good, but they still have some work to do in the second half if they are to move eight points clear at the top. Roma, despite being outplayed for large parts of the opening 45 minutes, did test Szczesny a couple of times and are by no means out of this.
The Italian champions have now won seven league matches in a row and are looking more and more likely to win an eighth consecutive Scudetto. Next up for Allegri's in-form men is a trip to Atalanta on Boxing Day, while 10th-place Roma welcome Sassuolo to the Stadio Olimpico on the same day.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye!
