Van Dijk proving to be an influential figure on the attacking end of the pitch as well, as he was the first to reach Alexander-Arnold’s excellent delivery and was able to spot Firmino in prime scoring territory.
GOOOAAALLLL!! LIVERPOOL TURN IT AROUND!! Van Dijk does very well to latch onto Alexander-Arnold’s exquisite lofted free-kick, and his outstretched cut-back falls towards the substitute Firmino, who makes an instant impact from the bench and scores with his first touch!! It’s now 2-1 to the Reds, and Dyche will be fuming at having lost a one-goal advantage!
66'
Roberto Firmino enters the game and replaces D. Origi.
The second member of Liverpool’s Fab Three is brought on, as Firmino replaces Origi. Klopp is clearly going for the jugular with those changes.

This has been a very good 30 minutes by Burnley, as Dyche’s team are so far looking more like their old selves from last season against a laboured Liverpool side.
26'
Bardsley manages to muscle Sturridge out of the ball and the Clarets clear once again, Hart hardly having been tested so far this half. However, the defender’s subsequent challenge on Moreno before the clearance takes out the left-back, and he has to will himself up before hobbling back into action.

Referee Stuart Attwell blows his whistle, and Liverpool get us underway at Turf Moor!
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of this Premier League match as struggling Burnley host high-flying Liverpool at Turf Moor!
With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, let’s take a look at how both sides line up, starting with the home side.
SUBSTITUTES: Simon Mignolet, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Rafael Camacho, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho.
LIVERPOOL XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Joseph Gomez, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk (c), Alberto Moreno; James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita; Xherdan Shaqiri, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi.
SUBSTITUTES: Tom Heaton, Sam Vokes, Matej Vydra, Aaron Lennon, Jeff Hendrick, Kevin Long, Matthew Lowton.
BURNLEY XI (4-4-2): Joe Hart; Phil Bardsley, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee (c), Charlie Taylor; Johann Gudmundsson, Ashley Westwood, Jack Cork, Robbie Brady; Ashley Barnes, Chris Wood.
The hosts head into this tough fixture only one point from bottom in 19th place and have been winless since late September. The porous Clarets, who have been leaking goals at an alarming rate, look a far different side to the team Sean Dyche steered to seventh in the previous campaign, and the Burnley gaffer will have to call upon the defensive rigidity of last season to get anything against a Reds side on the hunt for that elusive title.
Jurgen Klopp and his men must be in high spirits after snatching a win at the death against Everton, and surely have momentum on their side as they prepare to face a team who have won the least points on home soil in the division. Despite remaining unbeaten after 14 league matches with the least number of goals conceded, Liverpool are five points adrift of Manchester City, and Klopp will see this as another must-win match as they seek to put the pressure back on the leaders.
This is more like the Burnley that ground their way to seventh last season, as Dyche’s stifling and pressing tactics look to be working against their frustrated opponents. A bright start in the opening 15 minutes has been consolidated with more encouraging play, as they have continued to threaten despite having just under 22% possession with Wood and Barnes in particular proving to be nuisances for Van Dijk and company.
Klopp had an agitated look once the half-time whistle blew, indicating that he will look to have words with his underperforming side as they laboured towards the interval. Gomez’s injury will be a blow, but they had expressed very little rhythm even before the young defender was stretchered off. With a Burnley side game for taking the match to the title chasers, Klopp will demand that his side turn their possession to goals after the break.
Next up for the Clarets are more hosting duties as they play Brighton on Saturday in a match that Dyche is sure to target as a winnable one in an attempt to avoid a relegation scrap. As for Klopp’s title-chasers, they take a trip to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth on the same day before an all-important Champions League clash against Napoli at Anfield next Tuesday.
And that wraps up our coverage. We hope you enjoyed our commentary, and until next time, goodbye!
