Let's take a look at the two teams this afternoon, starting with the home side.
Everton's form has been patchy to say the least in the Premier League this season. The Toffees have recorded two victories in their seven matches, ending a four-match winless run last time out by defeating Fulham comfortably 3-0 at Goodison Park. They were unable to maintain their success during the week, being knocked out of the EFL Cup by Southampton at home. Marco Silva can ill afford another step back this afternoon.
The Foxes responded to suffering back-to-back defeats in the Premier League by stringing together successive victories. Claude Puel's men defeated Huddersfield 3-1 last time out on home soil before overcoming Newcastle on the road thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire. Another win this afternoon would elevate Leicester towards the European places.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Leicester City and Everton at the King Power Stadium.
It's all square at the King Power Stadium at the break. Everton took the lead in the early stages of the match as Bernard weaved his way down the left flank before supplying a perfect cross for Richarlison to convert. It took time for Leicester to respond and when the equaliser came it was against the run of play. However, Ricardo Pereira took his opportunity well to notch his first goal for the Foxes, leaving the game in the balance at the interval.
The home side have dominated possession, but have struggled to carve out clear-cut openings in the final third. Leicester's passing has been sloppy at times, which has left them vulnerable on the counter. Bernard, Richarlison and Theo Walcott have been active in space and that could be the area that could swing the match in favour of Marco Silva's men in the second half.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
