Gameiro chases onto a long ball, punted deep by Oblak on halfway - and the Atletico man can't wrestle the touch he desires as it skips out and the referee blows for full-time!
90' +1
It's a tame flat effort from Girona, Portu's hit stumbling into the wall on the edge of the box - could that by the last chance for the visitors?
90'
J. Oblak gets yellow.
Oblak gets a booking now as the keeper practically bodychecks Olunga, who had broken through in midfield. Three added minutes as Girona get the free-kick 30 yards out.
88'
A counter-attack for the visitors tees up a chance for Garcia as he's played a cutback pass from Mojica in the left; Savic pulls off a sterling slide-tackle to get the ball away and prevent the shot. End-to-end in the blink of an eye.
86'
A desperate appeal for a handball inside the Girona box now as Partey's cut-back chip for Vitolo appears to glance off Juanpe's forearm. Again, the referee waves it away.
84'
David Timor enters the game and replaces Álex Granell.
Granell is the latest change in this game - one taken very slowly, to boos from the crowd - as Timor replaces the midfielder for Girona.
83'
Wide! Correa can't convert his cross into a success, with the nudge-on by Gameiro sending the ball wide and out for a goal-kick.
82'
B. Espinosa gets yellow.
...and one to Gimenez for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It's a promising position for the hosts, this...
Double bookings now as a fracas opens up on the pitch between both sets of players after a challenge on Vitolo by Espinosa. The latter wrestles the ball away from the prone Atletico man, believing it is a free-kick to his side for simulation; moments later, Gimenez pushes him and starts an aggressive tete-a-tete. It's a booking for the challenge and a free-kick to Atletico...
81'
J. Giménez gets yellow.
Another Atletico attack, another penalty claim, this time as Vitolo tumbles under pressure from Juanpe. The referee waves it off once more, and the substitute is furious.
80'
Vitolo enters the game and replaces Š. Vrsaljko.
One last change for the hosts; Vrsaljko is off and Vitolo is on as Atletico look to add some more grunt up front to find a winner.

Description
79'
Hernandez tries to milk a penalty for the hosts, tumbling to the ground with a dramatic scream as he is clipped in pursuit by Ramalho; the referee waves his claims away to jeers from the partisan crowd.
77'
Atletico strike back with a chance of their own, turning a free-kick on the right edge of the halfway line into a half-chance for Gameiro with a superb cross from Correa; only for the striker to bring down Espinosa and concede the free-kick on the attack.
75'
Atletico have had almost twice as many shots as Girona so far, yet it is the visitors who have momentum as Olunga sees a hooked effort from the left pull well wide of the target at speed. The visitors look the more urgent across the park.
73'
Portu has scored a goal for Girona! Assist by B. Espinosa.
Diego Simone, out on the touchline, applauds the goal, but he will be furious with the way his side has conceded. With fresher legs up front however, can his side reclaim the lead quickly enough to blunt Girona's spirit?
Portu gets the equaliser! Girona are level with Atletico as Portu pokes in a rebound header from Espinosa, just under Oblak and between two defenders, tapping it into the bottom left corner. What a time to strike back for the visitors - it's 1-1 in Madrid with just under twenty minutes left.
72'
Free-kick to Girona again; this time on the left-hand lip of the penalty area. Garcia turns it in and Oblak dives to stop - but the ball is cleared only as far as Mojica some 20 yards out...
71'
Koke enters the game and replaces A. Griezmann.
A second change now for the hosts, as Griezmann departs - and Koke arrives to take his place.
68'
It's a decent effort from the visitors, as Granell twists the ball in - but alas, they only find Oblak who collects untroubled by opposition players.
66'
Š. Vrsaljko gets yellow.
Vrsaljko gets a booking now, after leading with the elbow on Mojica and bringing him down in a challenge. A free-kick to Girona on their left wing some 25 yards out...
65'
Girona launch a speedy counter-attack through Benitez after picking up a loose pass just inside their own half; the winger tears down the right flank and crosses just ahead of Olunga, who can't reach the ball and sees it skid away to the feet of Savic.
63'
Chance for Correa! The ball falls to the feet of the Atletico man in the Girona box as Ramalho fails to clear in a scramble; fortunately, for the visitors, he is called offside by the linesman.
61'
K. Gameiro enters the game and replaces Diego Costa.
Indeed it is; Kevin Gameiro arrives to replace Costa, who still seems to have a little limp from that first-half clash with Bono that likely contributed to the keeper's replacement too.
60'
Atletico are looking to make a change, it would seem; Gameiro is currently warming up on the touchline, shirt on. Will it be Costa who he takes the place of up front?
58'
Granell slots it in flat ths time and the deflection falls to Garcia outside the box in centre-field. He lofts an ambitious effort for the top right corner - and pulls it just wide of the mark and out for a goal-kick.
57'
Another free-kick for Girona now; this time a carbon copy of the last out on the left hand side.
56'
Free-kick to Girona now, some 30 yards out on the right after a foul on Portu. The visitors play it into the box - and the ball skips beyond the assembled huddle out wide, where Partey earns a free-kick of his own for a foul by Mojica.
55'
Corner for Atletico now, turned in by Correa; Costa gets first header and puts it forward to Saul who is subsequently caught in the offside trap.
53'
It's another brave save from Iraizoz, who cuts under Hernandez and pops up with the ball as the defender looks to connect with Costa's reverse-sweep cross from the left back into the box.
52'
Risky business from Iraizoz! The keeper darts out of his box to clear a long ball misjudged by Pons and heading for the feet of Costa in pursuit, leaving the Atletico man punching the air in frustration.
50'
Throw-in for Atletico on their left edge, deep in Girona territory. Correa bundles it into the box and both Costa and Griezmann fail to connect, with Espinosa eventually the man who blasts it clear of danger.
48'
An early sniff of a chance for Costa in this half, as he bustles his way through the backline on the right; Iraizoz is quick to cut him off though in his first contribution to the game and forces a skewed strike for a goal-kick.
46'
Iraizoz enters the game and replaces Y. Bounou.
We're back underway in Madrid with a change at half-time too; Girona keeper Bono, succumbing to the injuries attended to late on in the first half, is replaced Gorka Iraizoz for the second 45.
45' +1
Olunga can't quite get the header that he wants to connect with the last cross of the half from Portu - and that's all as the referee blows for half-time!
45'
T. Partey gets yellow.
Bono remains on and play gets back underway, with Girona flashing down the right wing before Partey lands a hefty challenge on Garcia. It's a booking for the Atletico man - with one added minute incoming.
43'
Play has ground to a standstill now as Bono recieves medical treatment in the box. The Girona keeper appears to have tweaked his hamstring - and on the touchline, Gorka Iraizoz is already warming up as a precaution.
41'
Olunga is the latest Girona man to be supplied with a lofted cross into the box, this time from Pons; Oblak is there to cut him off however and deals with the immediate danger.
39'
A free-kick at a promising distance for Girona now, as Garcia goes to ground some 25 yards out on the left. It's Alex Granell who tries to turn it over the wall and towards the far right post for Portu; instead, Gimenez is there to spirit it away.
37'
Aday gets yellow.
Another card for Girona, with Benitez the man to see yellow this time, as he is booked for a low foul on Hernandez, challenging on the right touchline.
34'
A. Griezmann has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid! Assist by Diego Costa.
Griezmann breaks the deadlock - but is it at a cost? The Frenchman taps home Costa's header back some six yards out on the right, after his fellow striker clashed with Bono and crumpled to the ground. He wheels away in celebration - but on the turf, Atletico's remaining players crowd around their fallen man.
Costa is back on his feet and looking slightly unsteady to boot. There could be a bone of contention about that goal for Girona too; the Atletico man, who was supplied by a neat Partey chip, was clearly offside on replay, as was Griezmann. Still, the goal stands; Madrid lead 1-0 with just over ten minutes left in the first half.
32'
Griezmann steps up to take - and sends it drifting over both the wall and crossbar. It remains 0-0, despite Atletico's efforts.
31'
Juanpe gets yellow.
Pons returns, with a fresh shirt - just as Correa is sent sprawling 25 yards out by Juanpe with a rather overzealous challenge. A booking for the Girona defender - and a prime free-kick within goal distance.
29'
Foul against Atletico in Girona's back-right corner now, as Pons briefly departs the field to seek medical attention for what appears to be a cut upper lip.
27'
Griezmann skews wide again, albeit this time from distance as the Frenchman chances a tame effort on the right some 25 yards away.
25'
It's a tame effort curled in by the hosts and Girona smuggle it away without real issue, aided by Juanpe.
24'
A golden chance for Correa! Griezmann, shrugging off his leg knock, breaks downfield from the centre circle and slips a cross right for the winger to turn in, with only the keeper to beat. He delays his shot - and Bono manages to position himself in time to put the block on. Corner.
22'
Correa cuts around the Girona backline on the left and looks to canter into the box close to the goal-line; his shot is forced into the side netting though as Espinosa doubles back to trap him.
20'
Girona push deep down the left through Mojica, who looks to feed Garcia with a cut-back pass into the box; instead, he only finds Savic and the danger is averted for the hosts.
18'
Costa looks to catch a long ball floated his way by Vrsaljko - and is caught offside by inches. The Atletico man is unhappy with the call, remonstrating with the officials as Bono puts the free-kick downfield.
16'
Moments later, Griezmann tries to put a pass out from long distance and skews it well wide to the right and the waiting defence as opposed to Costa. The Atletico man looks rather sluggish after that hit.
14'
A free-kick for Atletico on halfway as Griezmann is clattered to the ground by Ramalho. The striker looks to be carrying a knock from the tackle, limping away slowly as Correa punts the ball downfield to only find the Girona defence.
12'
Corner to Girona now as Portu forces Hernandez to bundle it out at speed from a swift counter-attack. The visitors swing it in high and long for the far left post - only for Oblak to read it perfectly and pick the ball out with pinpoint precision.
10'
The visitors are looking rather overwhelmed in midfield so far as Pons loses possession to a soft challenge from Niguez. Atletico play it around the park but are ultimately held there by the Girona backline.
8'
Correa goes down in the Girona box and cries foul, looking for a penalty off the clash with Juanpe; none is forthcoming and the referee waves play on.
6'
A sniff of a chance for Garcia, who looks to catch a long ball lofted down the left into the box; he comes together with Savic though whilst challenging, knocking the latter to the ground and conceding a free-kick in his own area.
5'
One way traffic in the opening five minutes for Atletico - until Benitez finds space on the right wing to turn an effort in for Portu. It runs too deep however and the hosts get the goal kick.
3'
It's Griezmann again with the chance, catching a long ball drifted between the defence by Partey just inside the 18-yard area on the right; only this time, the French international lifts it over the crossbar and Girona get the goal-kick.
2'
It's Carrasco who turns it into the box from 30 yards out on the left, with a wayward header sending it back out - to the feet of Griezmann who lofts a curling shot into the arms of Bono at the near post.

We're underway in the capital! Girona - playing left to right in yellow and white - get us underway, with Griezmann immediately hounding their defence back before tumbling and earning an early free-kick.
Good afternoon, and welcome to live coverage from La Liga 17-18, as Atletico Madrid face Girona at Wanda Metropolitano. The hosts are unbeaten in eight at home in the league – but face an opponent who held them to a 2-2 draw in the reverse earlier this season. Can the White and Reds pick up three points to keep up the pursuit of the Europa League? Or will Los Indios keep up the pressure on Barcelona? Kick-off is just around the corner.
It’s been an excellent campaign for Girona, in their first top-flight campaign ever. In touching distance of a spot in Europe, they travel to the capital on the back of their biggest win this season – a 6-0 drubbing of Las Palmas. In addition, they have scored at least once in their previous 13 games – their best run in the competition.
For Atletico, much of their campaign has been called on fine margins; they have won more games by a single goal than any other La Liga side, with eight, whilst they have scored winning goals in the last ten minutes of games on five separate occasions. They’re yet to beat a Catalonian side this season however – will they claim a scalp today?
Stuani is the only player to have scored a brace against Atletico in La Liga this season, scoring both with his head - no player has scored more headed goals in the division. He netted both in the first half too; only Real Sociedad have beaten their keeper in the opening 45 this season too.
Olunga became the first player to score a hat-trick for Girona in La Liga in the last matchday - with Stuani, Garcia and Portu also getting themselves on the scoresheet.
Antoine Griezmann provided five assists in the first half of this campaign for Atletico - only three fewer than his best record tally in a whole La Liga season (eight in 16/17).
The teams are out and we're moments away from kick-off in Madrid...
Girona have shown flashes and are by no means out of this - having in fact mustered 52 percent possession against the hosts - but it's Atletico who are the more clinical so far, with a goal to show for their efforts from Antoine Griezmann. Will they hold on for the three points? At half-time, it's Atletico Madrid 1-0 Girona.
In their first season in La Liga, Girona hold Atletico Madrid not once, but twice to a draw - and this time away from their own backyard. A Portu tap-in made the pressure tell as the visitors found a more clinical edge in the second half - and despite a late flurry of chances and penalty calls, they hung on for a rewarding point. Full-time in the capital, it finishes Atletico Madrid 1-1 Girona.
For Girona, attention turns to a visit to Malaga next time out, one week today - but for Atletico, they face a more pressing engagement as they travel to Sevilla in the Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg, looking to overturn a 2-1 defecit on Tuesday. Until then however, thank you for joining us - and have a good weekend!
