Into added time we go, Southampton have three minutes of punishment.
89'
It just hasn't been Southampton's night. To be fair, they took a while to show up but when Austin saw a close-range effort, which would have made it 3-2 and put the Saints back in the game, saved, it became clear that the tides were against the Saints.
87'
January will certainly be crucial for both sides. Leicester may need to fight to keep hold of their stars, whilst Southampton definitely look like they could benefit from a few new faces.
85'
Southampton have moved the ball around well since conceding a fourth but it's mostly because Leicester have taken their foot off the gas. Once again, another shout out to the few supporters who seem intent on seeing this one out.
83'
L. Ulloa enters the game and replaces B. Chilwell.
J. Ward-Prowse enters the game and replaces D. Tadić.
Claude Peul also makes his final change of the game, with Leicester bringing on Ulloa for 20-year-old Chilwell- another who has had a fine game this evening.
Final change of the game for Southampton and it's Ward-Prowse who is introduced, taking the place of Tadic.
82'
In an incredible attacking performance for Leicester, take a moment to appreciate Harry Maguire's performance. The defender has made an impact at both ends of the field this evening, with the stand-out moment being his assist for Okazaki's first goal.
80'
Leicester have been extremely impressive tonight and really could start making a push for a continental spot. They're keeping pace with Spurs ahead of them and will leave the top seven anxiously looking over their shoulder.
78'
We are getting to the point where there is more empty seats than fans in the stadium. Southampton have been woeful, which is incredibly frustrating given how impressive they were in the draw with Arsenal.
76'
Fair play to the Southampton fans who are still in the stadium, they're not being given too much reward for venturing into the cold this evening.
74'
Not a night for Southampton to remember and the run is set to be just two wins from 12. Mauricio Pellegrino may find himself under a lot of pressure and the fans that called for Peul to go are being a taught a lesson here by their former boss.
Minute
Description
72'
M. Albrighton enters the game and replaces R. Mahrez.
D. Gray enters the game and replaces J. Vardy.
Leicester's other change sees the other heavy hitter replaced, with Vardy taken off and Demarai Gray coming on.
With Mahrez playing like this, Leicester may struggle to keep him in January. He's replaced by Marc Albrighton as Claude Peul makes a double change.
71'
A real hammer blow for Southampton that, who finally turned up in this game. Minutes after Austin almost scored at the other end, the Saints are punished for their mistake and it's led to a mass exodus.
69'
S. Okazaki has scored a goal for Leicester City! Assist by J. Vardy.
Still not on the scoresheet but Vardy is back at his brilliant best this evening.
GOAL! Leicester turn on the style again! Soares plays a poor pass and Leicester break, with Mahrez feeding Vardy out wide and the striker crossing superbly to Okazaki. It's an easy finish and he's got his second of the night.
68'
Leicester seem to have forgotten the style of play that put them in front. They've become complacent and Mahrez has been a passenger since the break, having been the best player on the pitch in the first 45 minutes.
67'
WHAT A SAVE! How on earth did that not go in? Southampton are alive and a brilliant break sees the ball whipped across the floor dangerously into the middle, where Austin is lurking. He slides a shot at goal but Schmeichel somehow keeps the ball out.
66'
Leicester are probably likely to make their first change of the game soon and they continue to look threatening when they do go forward.
64'
Southampton are finally starting to show signs of life and Leicester have been left a little bruised. Still a lot to be done if the Saints are to turn it around though.
62'
N. Redmond enters the game and replaces S. Boufal.
Comeback on the cards? Southampton make their second change of the match, with Redmond introduced in place of Boufal.
61'
M. Yoshida has scored a goal for Southampton! Assist by R. Bertrand.
Bertrand's delivery caused a host of problems for Leicester but, in truth, it's poor defending. That header should not have found it's way into the net.
GOAL! Southampton get something back! A corner isn't dealt with by the Leicester defence as Yoshida heads into the six-yard box, where Tadic claims to have got a touch to the ball. It's one for the dubious goals panel but it seems like it was the defender who will be awarded it.
60'
Better! Bertrand strikes the ball well and Schmeichel palms over. It's not too much of a test for the experienced stopper but it does at least warm him up.
59'
A rare sight of goal for Southampton as Simpson fouls Tadic. It's within striking distance. Can something productive happen?
58'
I'm running out of ways to describe how poorly Southampton are playing here, they're moving the ball around with absolutely no sort of attack or threat. They're 3-0 down! Do something!
56'
Leicester are easing towards a fourth consecutive win under absolutely no threat at all. I don't think Southampton have mustered a single promising attacking move yet.
54'
Leicester come close AGAIN! Maguire surges forward under no challenge at all and strikes a low shot towards the bottom corner, where Forster kicks it behind for a corner. It comes to nothing but Southampton have every man defending so can't hit on the counter.
53'
SAVE! Mahrez forces Forster into action from the resulting free-kick, with the Southampton wall easily beaten and the keeper needing to palm the ball around the post.
52'
C. Austin gets yellow.
You were wrong if you expected a response from Southampton early on, they've continued to look poor. Forster gives the ball away with a poor clearance and they're fortunate that Mahrez's touch is, for once, poor.
First yellow card of the evening is issued for Austin, as Southampton frustrations grow.
50'
Huge appeals for Southampton as Boufal charges down the left and sees his low delivery put behind by Morgan. There are appeals for a penalty and it did look like it had struck the Jamaican international's arm. Clearly it's not going to be Southampton's night.
48'
There is a lot of empty seats at St. Mary's and I wouldn't be surprised at all if some fans have already gone home.
46'
M. Gabbiadini enters the game and replaces Oriol Romeu.
Confirmation of the half-time substitution, with Manolo Gabbiadini replacing Romeu. It shows attacking intent but will count for nothing if they don't improve.
45' +1
Two minutes added on at the half-time and the noise that will come on the whistle will not be nice for Mauricio Pellegrino to hear.
45'
CLOSE! Leicester aren't done and Southampton's defence is parting like the red sea. Ndidi gets the ball on the edge of the area and his fierce shot is deflected wide. The warning bells are ringing extremely loudly on the South Coast.
Southampton get us started for the second-half and they've made a change at the interval. Just the one, unfortunately.
43'
Well, at least it's an attempt? A decent move for Southampton sees the ball drop to Van Dijk on the edge of the area and he unleashes a first time shot. As you can tell by my opening quote, it wasn't a test for Schmeichel.
42'
I can't decide if Leicester are playing extremely well or if Southampton are incredibly poor. It's probably a bit of both in all fairness but this does not make for good watching for Southampton fans.
40'
Perhaps a tad premature but Southampton are only five points above the relegation zone. If they continue to play like this, they could be in real trouble.
38'
A. King has scored a goal for Leicester City! Assist by H. Maguire.
Leicester, on the other hand, look back to their brilliant best on the counter. They were devastating going forward in the season where they won the Premier League and seem to have rekindled that ability under Claude Peul, which has resulted in their swift rise up the standings.
GOAL! It's three! King gets on the act and the boos ring out around the stadium. It's too easy yet again! Mahrez chips a free-kick in, Maguire chests it down and turns to provide a ball across the face of the area where King can tuck home with ease.
Brilliant work from Maguire to take down the ball, turn and deliver the ball on the plate but the Southampton defence are making it far too easy for them.
36'
You have to feel for Southampton. In past campaigns they've seemed on the brink of something special but they've then had their best players poached by Premier League rivals. It seems to have caught up with them this season and they're at risk of a hefty defeat here if they don't up their game.
34'
The second goal had been coming and Leicester get their reward. Okazaki certainly is a fox in the box and is perhaps one of the last of that dying breed but he gets his reward here.
32'
S. Okazaki has scored a goal for Leicester City!
GOAL! Forster can't do anything about that one! A corner is headed away and Fuchs smashes a low shot at goal. The ball strikes Davis inside the six-yard box and falls to the feet of Okazaki, who taps home easily.
31'
INCREDIBLE! Leicester hit on the counter, with Vardy playing a one-two with Mahrez. The England international looks certain to score from close range but he's prevented by his compatriot, with Forster making a superb save!
30'
SAVE! Austin has been a passenger so far but he forces a save from Schmeichel as he fires towards goal from distance. It wasn't the most challenging of saves for the experienced stopper and he charges off his line to claim the corner.
29'
Clumsy foul from Van Dijk on King, which gives Leicester a free-kick in a decent area. Mahrez steps-up but his effort strikes the wall and the chance goes begging.
28'
Better from Boufal, who shows superb determination down the left to beat two men. Ndidi eventually recovers and Boufal, out of frustration, hurls him to ground. Not exactly ideal but it does show the bit of intent that the Saints have lack in the final third.
26'
Such a poor performance so far here from Southampton, they haven't really got going and their defence is leaving far too many gaps. With Leicester's incredible array of pace up front, that's a very dangerous scenario.
24'
OFF THE LINE! Southampton opened up far too easily yet again. Leicester's pace again causes danger and Lemina is forced to hack the ball away from the line as Okazaki drives a shot at goal, with Forster already well beaten. The Saints need to up their game!
22'
Approaching the halfway mark in the first-half and Leicester are looking good value for their lead as they seek a fourth consecutive Premier League victory.
20'
SAVE! Leicester are proving too hot to handle when they fly forward! Vardy knocks the ball down the Okazaki, who unleashes a shot from distance that takes a wicked deflection and requires Forster to palm the ball behind for a corner.
19'
There does seem to be a lot of surface water on the pitch here, as the ball is holding up more than it usually would. It adds another dimension to this game and may make it very difficult to judge long passes forward.
17'
Southampton started this game on the front foot but have seen their play dip since. It's a major concern as their defence is certainly not holding themselves in the best of light.
15'
Southampton remain under pressure, again showing poor defending, and Fuchs wins the Foxes a corner. He whips it towards the near post but Austin heads away, allowing the hosts to recover.
13'
Leicester continue to excel under Claude Peul then. They've earned 17 points in eight games under the former Saints boss, having secured just six prior to his appointment.
11'
R. Mahrez has scored a goal for Leicester City! Assist by S. Okazaki.
Okazaki is the man credited with the assist but all the credit has to go to Mahrez, while a lot of blame falls to the feet of the Southampton defence.
GOAL! Mahrez has been in spectacular form recently and he's continued in that vein here. Mahrez picks up the ball deep in the Southampton half, slips, recomposes himself and charges forward. The Southampton defence is gaping and Mahrez strikes from distance into the bottom right-hand corner.
10'
Southampton are dictating the tempo here and Leicester seem more than happy to let the Saints move the play around. It's a wet surface on the South Coast though, so the ball is getting stuck in the turf a fair amount.
8'
Both sides looking sharp in the attacking third during the early exchanges here, with two experienced strikers leading the line. Vardy has blown hot and cold since his stellar season a year ago, whilst the same can be said of Charlie Austin.
6'
Southampton have started the brighest but Leicester have a wealth of pace on the counter. Chilwell leads the charge and feeds through Vardy, who tries to slot a ball across to Okazaki but it's overhit.
4'
Chilwell, as expected, is playing a role further forward for Leicester ahead of Fuchs. He played a similar position in a victory against Everton earlier this year but his preferred role is at left-back, so the Foxes should be strong defensively down that side.
2'
Early chance for Southampton from a corner, as Yoshida almost bundles home at the near post. Leicester again struggle to deal with the next corner, which goes deep, but eventually manage to get it away.
1'
KICK-OFF! We're underway at St. Mary's, where Leicester get us started and kick to the right.
Good evening and welcome to our LIVE text commentary of the Premier League clash between Southampton and Leicester City, a match where both sides are looking to continue their rise after relatively slow starts to the season.
Southampton come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Arsenal, where they were unfortunate not to take all three points. The stats don't lie though and the Saints have underperformed this term, having won just two of their last 11 league matches.
Leicester, meanwhile, don't seem comparable to the side we saw at the start of the season. Since the appointment of former Saints boss Claude Peul, the Foxes have excelled and battled to a 3-2 win over Newcastle at the weekend. They enter tonight's game seventh in the standings, just four points off Tottenham.
Southampton XI: Fraser Forster; Cedric Soares, Virgil Van Dijk, Maya Yoshida, Ryan Bertrand; Mario Lemina, Oriol Romeu; Dusan Tadic, Steven Davis, Sofiane Boufal; Charlie Austin.
Leicester XI: Kasper Schmeichel; Danny Simpson, Harry Maguire, Wes Morgan, Christian Fuchs; Wilfred Ndidi, Andy King; Riyad Mahrez, Shinji Okazaki, Ben Chilwell; Jamie Vardy.
Southampton subs: Alex McCarthy, James Ward-Prowse, Pierre-Emile Hobjberg, Shane Long, Manolo Gabbiadini, Nathan Redmond, Jack Stephens.
Leicester subs: Ben Hamer, Daniel Amartey, Marc Albrighton, Demarai Gray, Leonardo Ulloa, Aleksandar Dragovic, Vicente Iborra.
Southampton make three changes to the side that drew with Arsenal, as Jeremy Pied and Wesley Hoedt don't make the squad. James Ward-Prowse drops to the bench and the trio are replaced by Soares, Yoshia and Lemina. Austin leads the line, having scored against the Gunners.
Leicester also make three changes to their side, the biggest surprise of which sees Ben Chilwell play in a seemingly more advanced role ahead of Christian Fuchs, who returns to the side. King and Okazaki also come in, with Gray, Albrighton and Iborra dropping to the bench.
That was rather one sided. Chris Kavanagh puts the hosts out of their misery as he blows for half-time. Leicester have stormed through here with Mahrez, Okazaki and King on the scoresheet. Southampton's defence has been as strong as a wet paper bag and the chorus of boos that echo around St. Mary's at the break is telling.
More bad news for Southampton is the fact that Premier League rules only allow three substitutions, which means Pellegrino can't change his entire side. That seems to be the only thing that could save face for the Saints this evening as they have been woeful with a capital W.
Leicester, meanwhile, continue to fly under Claude Peul. They've been electric in the attacking third so far and are good value for their lead. In reality, they could be a lot further in front and you'd expect them to add to their lead after the break- Jamie Vardy hasn't even got in on the act yet!
That's it! Leicester storm to their fourth consecutive Premier League win and continue their fantastic rise under Claude Peul. That's now twenty points from nine matches for the Foxes, who looked back to their best tonight in attack. Okazaki netted a brace with Mahrez and King also on the scoresheet. Yoshida provided a rare moment of cheer for the Saints with his header but it proved to only be a consolation.
Southampton's poor run continues and the side this evening looked nothing like the team that drew with Arsenal at the weekend. The club have already said that Pellegrino will be given time but, sat precariously above the relegation dogfight, there's a real danger of them being dragged into the struggles. It doesn't get easier either, as they travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Leicester storm to their fourth consecutive win then and they were always good value for their lead. The Foxes were superb in their attacking play and Claude Peul has got his side ticking again. An intriguing match against a rejuvenated Crystal Palace awaits this weekend but it would take a brave man to bet against Peul's men making it five wins in a row.
