We're underway at Signal Iduna Park.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Champions League clash between Borussia Dortmund and APOEL at Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund are in must-win territory this evening, having only taken a point in the reverse fixture last time out in the competition. Peter Bosz's men had to come from behind to salvage a point as Sokratis Papastathopoulos cancelled out Mickael Pote's opener for the Cypriot side. The German outfit are six points behind Real Madrid and Tottenham at the top of Group H and need to put the pressure back on the two teams.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
APOEL put in a spirited performance against Dortmund last time out to claim a point and will need to put in an even stronger effort this evening to match their exploits. They're rock bottom of the group as many would have expected given the calibre of their opponents, but they can still make a name for themselves with another solid outing.
APOEL subs: Gudino, Efrem, De Camargo, Sallai, Antoniou, Farias, Makris.
Dortmund have made five changes from their defeat at the hands of Hannover at the weekend. Omer Toprak comes into the back four along with Raphael Guerreiro, replacing Marcel Schmelzer and Dan Axel Zagadou. Julian Weigl and Shinji Kagawa are recalled in the middle of the park, while Maximillian Philipp gets the nod to start ahead of Andriy Yarmolenko.
APOEL have made four changes from their 1-1 draw against Dortmund last time out in the competition. Nauzet Perez comes into the stick between the sticks, while Carlao, Nektarious Alexandrou and the goalscorer Pote all start this evening.
STAT ATTACK! Cypriot clubs have won only one of their 47 games against German opposition in European competitions.
STAT ATTACK! APOEL's 1-1 draw against Dortmund last time out ended their six-game losing streak in the Champions League.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
HALF-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 1-0 APOEL
Borussia Dortmund have not been at their best in the contest, but still hold a 1-0 lead over APOEL thanks to Raphael Guerreiro's strike. Peter Bosz's men were frustrated for almost 30 minutes until the Portuguese converted the opening provided by Shinji Kagawa's neat flick to release him in the box. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has had a couple of openings, but he has been far from his best in front of goal. Dortmund will have to improve to see this contest out with ease to claim their first win of the season in the Champions League.
FULL-TIME: BORUSSIA DORTMUND 1-1 APOEL
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Borussia Dortmund drop another two valuable points in the Champions League and are on the brink of an exit from the tournament at the group stage. Rapahel Guerreiro put them ahead in the first half with a well-taken goal,. but Mickael Pote loomed large for the second contest in the row against the Germab oufit to secure a point on the road of APOEL. It's a result that puts Peter Bosz under huge pressure ahead of his side's clash against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this weekend.
