Substitution Kemar Roofe Ezdzhan Alioski
90' +7
FULL TIME! Burnley 2-2 Leeds United. An amazing second half, twice Leeds looked like they had nicked it and twice they were denied. It's all square at the final whistle which means we will have extra-time at Turf Moor!
90' +6
R. Brady has scored a goal for Burnley!
Goal Robbie Brady
GOAL! INCREDIBLE! Brady puts the free kick into the top corner and it's 2-2. That is just absolutely brilliant, the goalkeeper had no chance. Simply brilliant.
Minute
Description
90' +5
Worth saying that both of those penalty decisions looked absolutely spot on, and really well played by the officials. Can Leeds hang on? Burnley have a free kick on the edge of the box now...
90' +4
Penalty goal scored by Pablo Hernández for Leeds United!
GOAL! Hernandez shows no signs of nerves and casually slots the spot kick home! What an incredible last few minutes we've had here. What a cool penalty, pretty much straight down the middle!
90' +2
PENALTY! UNBELIEVABLE! Leeds have a penalty in stoppage time after Tarkowski holds Roofe.
90'
J. Cork enters the game and replaces J. Hendrick.
Into a rather surprising SIX minutes of stoppage time at the end of the second half. Still time for a winner?
Substitution Jeff Hendrick Jack Cork
89'
Penalty goal scored by C. Wood for Burnley!
GOAL!!! Wood sends the goalkeeper the wrong way and smashes the ball low into the net and we are level at Turf Moor!
87'
PENALTY TO BURNLEY! Drama at Turf Moor! Long is pulled down by Berardi in the box and the referee points straight to the spot. Wood will take it...
86'
Hernandez takes the free kick but scoops the ball high over the bar. A bit of a waste and Burnley can go again now.
85'
P. Lasogga enters the game and replaces J. Grot.
K. Long gets yellow.
Yellow card Kevin Long
Substitution Jay-Roy Grot Pierre-Michel Lasogga
84'
Burnley are pressing but Leeds are continuing to defend well and then break again through Sacko. Again he does superbly, keeping the ball before drawing the foul and the visitors have a free kick on the edge of the box. That's brilliant play by the substitute to relieve the pressure on his side.
82'
Wow! It's a bit of a smash and grab here as Leeds have barely threatened since the break but are now ahead with time rapidly running out. Burnley will feel hard done by, but their finishing tonight has been poor and Sacko took his chance well.
80'
H. Sacko has scored a goal for Leeds United! Assist by Pablo Hernández.
Assist Pablo Hernández Domínguez
GOAL! Leeds are ahead! What a story at Turf Moor! The visitors break through substitute Sacko, who is released with a gorgeous ball, and who only has the goalkeeper to beat and makes no mistake, smashing it through Pope's legs.
79'
Pablo Hernández enters the game and replaces P. Cibicki.
Substitution Pawel Cibicki Pablo Hernández Domínguez
78'
GREAT CHANCE! Good save from Lonergan! The ball is worked to Westwood just inside the box, he takes a touch before lashing a shot goalwards but the goalkeeper gets down well to block.
76'
Hendrick surges forward and finds Brady but his cross is deflected for a corner. Brady takes it but it's a poor effort and although he gets the ball back, he's then easily dispossessed. He'll need to do better than that.
74'
The two subsitutes make an instant impression, Wood holding the ball up superbly well and feeding Brady but his shot flies high over the bar.
72'
C. Wood enters the game and replaces S. Vokes.
R. Brady enters the game and replaces S. Arfield.
Substitution Sam Vokes Chris Wood
Substitution Scott Arfield Robbie Brady
Sean Dyche has seen enough and opts to make a double change. Robbie Brady is on for Arfield and Chris Wood is on for Vokes. What a story it would be if he could find the target tonight.
71'
Leeds win a free kick and have the chance to get the ball in but Burnley clear it easily and go back on the attack. Bardsley is free down the right and fires the ball in. I'm not sure if it's a cross or a shot but either way it's only just wide of the far post.
70'
J. Guðmundsson gets yellow.
Yellow card Johann Berg Guðmundsson
69'
Good play by Sacko who wriggles free of the Burnley defenders and cuts inside, but he's just done too much and Burnley can intercept. Still a really bright moment from the substitute.
67'
Another chance for Burnley! Gudmundsson floats in a decent cross from the right and Barnes gets his head on it but again he can't find the target. Will Burnley be made to rue these misses?
65'
A fairly scrappy passage of play in the last few minutes, with neither team able to retain possession for more than a few passes. This will suit Leeds who have been under a fair bit of pressure.
63'
Vokes challenges for the ball with the goalkeeper and Shaughnessy in the box and gets clattered, landing very heavily. He stays down and is having some treatment but he should be OK to continue. Chris Wood is sent out to warm up just in case.
61'
Into the last half an hour and still goalless. Burnley continue to look the more likely team to break the deadlock but it's pretty even out there. The visitors meanwhile have made their first change of the night, Sacko on for Borthwick-Jackson.
60'
H. Sacko enters the game and replaces C. Borthwick-Jackson.
Substitution Cameron Borthwick-Jackson Hadi Sacko
59'
K. Roofe gets yellow.
CHANCE! Burnley are getting closer! Again it's a shot from range, but it's not far away Gudmundsson beating the goalkeeper, and the far post with a fierce effort.
Yellow card Kemar Roofe
57'
Ashely Barnes does well down the right to evade a challenge but then tries to fire the ball into the area and it's easily blocked. Leeds are defending well here but you get the feeling their defence is going to be worked hard as we head towards the final 30 minutes of normal time.
55'
Another Burnley attack, another cross into the box by Taylor but it's overhit and is out for a goal kick. Burnley really lacking quality in the final third tonight.
54'
A break from Burnley this time. Hendrick does superbly well to bring the ball forwards. He has plenty of options but opts to pass to Arfield but he can't make the most of it and it's out for goal kick to Leeds.
53'
P. Bardsley gets yellow.
Yellow card Phil Bardsley
52'
Leeds win the ball in the centre circle and look ready to break when Bardsley brings down Dallas. The referee didn't like that and books the Burnley defender. Leeds, meanwhile, get a breather and a chance to try and keep possession.
50'
The hosts are still dominating the ball, a flick on nearly finds Vokes but somehow Leeds get it away. Are they going to be able to withstand this pressure?
48'
The half starts in much the same way as the first half ended with the hosts on the attack. Burnley race forwards and Gudmundsson fires in a cross for Vokes but he's put too much on it and the striker is never getting on the end of it.
46'
HERE WE GO! No changes for either side at the break as Leeds get the second half underway at Turf Moor.
45' +2
HALF-TIME! No goals yet at Turf Moor but Burnley have had the better of it and will probably be a little disappointed they are not ahead. Leeds, meanwhile, have offered little so far going forwards but are still very much in it with all still to play for after the break.
45' +1
J. Grot gets yellow.
Yellow card Jay-Roy Grot
Finally we have a yellow card, and it's Grot who goes into the book. It's not a particularly bad challenge but you suspect it's just a case of too many now for the referee who has produced the first card of the match.
45'
Heading into ONE minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half...
43'
Huge cheers from the away end as Taylor is penalised for offside again, the Leeds fans certainly enjoyed that one.
42'
Cibicki takes the Leeds free kick but it's a wasted effort, straight at Pope. That was a real waste of a decent opportunity. Burnley then come again and work the ball wide to the right with Bardsley who crosses for Barnes but he can only guide his header just wide.
40'
Heading into the last five minutes of the first half. Burnley still on top but Leeds gain some respite after Bardsley is penalised for a foul inside his own half. Again the referee opts for a chat instead of a card.
39'
Corner for Leeds, they play it short and work the ball to Dallas who has a pop but his curling effort is tame and easily claimed by Pope in the Burnley goal.
38'
This has been a good spell for Burnley but they will be kicking themselves they are not ahead. Still, if they maintain this pressure, they will surely get further opportunities to open the scoring.
36'
WHAT A CHANCE! Finally Burnley carve Leeds wide open but they still can't score! Vokes, who might have been offside, gets free in the box. He could go for goal but he's at a tight angle and the goalkeeper has the near post covered, so pulls it back for Arfield who should at least get it on target but can't. What a let off for Leeds.
35'
Leeds can't make anything out of the corner but they do retain possession and eventually they go all the way back to their goalkeeper, who then knocks it long and Burnley have it back again.
34'
A Burnley move breaks down and suddenly Leeds can break. Roofe tries to do it all by himself when he should really pass, which allows Tarkowski to get a foot in and clear the ball for a corner.
33'
CHANCE!! Yet another free kick to the hosts after Barnes goes down under pressure. Gudmundsson fires the ball into the box and finds Long free at the far post but he can't get his diving header on target. That's probably the best chance of the game so far.
31'
Burnley passing it around nicely at the moment, but without getting the ball into areas that will hurt Leeds. They are going to need a little bit more creativity than they have shown so far to break down the Championship side.
FULL TIME! It's finished Burnley 2-2 Leeds - which means we will need penalties to decide who will go through to the next round of the Carabao Cup. Stay tuned, because penalties are up next...
30'
Into stoppage time now at Turf Moor - it's now or never!
29'
The hosts are just edging it here, but are finding clear-cut chances hard to come by. Leeds have defended well so far and will be hoping they can nick one on the break.
On comes Defour for Burnley - might he be coming on to take a penalty?
28'
Just two minutes to go now at Turf Moor and it's looking increasingly like we will be going to penalties. Both sides have already scored one each tonight already don't forget!
27'
Another foul by Leeds, another talking to from the referee, as Burnley win another free kick. This one is a long away out but another chance to pump the ball goalwards. It comes to Barnes who slips, but Taylor takes over and whips in a superb ball but Vokes can't find the target.
26'
Brady fires in a free kick from a long way out, Wood gets on the end of it and his looping header just clears the bar and bounces onto the roof of the net. Close!
25'
Half-chance for Burnley. Somehow the hosts manage to get the ball in to Vokes. It's at a tough angle and he's not quite in the right position but manages to get a shot away that flies high over the bar. Difficult chance that for the Welshman.
Into the last five minutes, is there to be a dramatic finish to this game as there was at the end of the normal time when he saw two goals in stoppage time?
24'
Taylor is fouled again by Roofe and the referee again goes to talk to the Leeds man but does not produce the yellow card. However, you get the feeling that his patience is being stretched and that the next late challenge will go into the book.
23'
Free kick to Burnley on the edge of the box. However, instead of sending the ball into the area, they lay it back to Bardsley on the edge of the box, he has a pop but it's an awful effort that flies horribly high and wide.
The hosts come forward again, in good numbers this time, Bardsley lofts in a high ball to Wood who heads it back, but the flag is up and it's offside. Free kick to Leeds.
22'
Good stuff from Burnley, who find Taylor down the left, he manges to just about get the ball into the box but Vokes can't get on the end of it. Borthwick-Jackson then goes in late on Gudmundsson who goes down and looks in some pain. The referee has a word with the Leeds defender but opts to keep his cards in his pocket.
21'
Both teams are tiring now, but Burnley are trying their best to force a winner. Cork hurls a ball in but Barnes can't make it stick and Leeds can clear.
20'
Taylor aims a long ball up to Arfield down the left and Vokes manages to gain possession. He's under pressure and goes down wanting a free kick but the referee is having none of it and signals a throw in instead. Vokes is not impressed.
19'
And now Burnley win a corner, the ball is whipped in and Lonergan tries to punch but the ball goes up rather than out, and after a bit of jostling the referee blows for a free kick.
18'
Grot sends Taylor sprawling on the touchline which does not impress Sean Dyche but there have been a few tackles flying in over the last few minutes as this game just starts to warm up a little.
17'
CLOSE! Better from Burnley, the ball is pumped into the box by Bardsley down the right but Shaughnessy does really well to rise highest and get it clear. Super defending.
HALF-TIME! It's still all square at Turf Moor. The players will have a quick drink and then go at it again.
An early free kick to Leeds just outside the area after Long is penalised for holding. This is a real chance for the visitors...Lasogga takes but doesn't get it anywhere near the target. Disappointing.
16'
Leeds get the second half underway. Will we have a winner in the next 15 minutes?
15'
Now Leeds try to attack. The ball is worked out to Dallas out wide on the left, he hoists in a cross but it's far too close to the goalkeeper who lets it bounce before claiming comfortably.
Into TWO minutes of added time at the end of the first half of extra-time...
14'
Leeds make their final change of the night as Ezgjan Alioski comes on for Roofe as we head towards the interval.
13'
Another shot from range for Burnley, this time from Bardsley. He's a long, long way out and although he hits it well, it's not on target and flies wide without troubling the goalkeeper.
12'
Burnley ending this first half strongly, Gudmundsson crosses but Barnes' flick on doesn't find a team-mate and Leeds can clear.
11'
Burnley pump it long to Taylor who has made a great run down the left but he's given offside, much to the delight of the away fans.
10'
A great turn by Kemar Roofe allows him to get free of his marker race forward but his shot is blocked. Burnley then break through Arfield but the attack quickly breaks down. Pretty cagey stuff from both sides so far tonight.
Brady takes the corner but Tarkowski heads over the bar. Meanwhile, Berardi has a cut on his face and is not particularly happy about it, showing it to the referee.
9'
Good defending by Berardi who heads Gudmundsson's cross at the far post clear. Still Burnley have a corner...
8'
A good run by Stuart Dallas sees him surge towards the Burnley box, the ball is blocked but Leeds win a throw. They try to work the ball back, but it's intercepted and back with the hosts again.
7'
Vieira is back with us and play resumes, but the intensity of the end of the second half has disappeared somewhat.
6'
Burnley still seeing plenty more of the ball in these opening minutes. However, they give it away and Leeds tentatively come forwards but the ball into the box is overhit and floats harmlessly out of play.
5'
Burnley try to counter but the referee stops the play as Vieira is down with a head injury. Some of the Burnley players are frustrated at the decision but the referee has got it quite right yet again.
4'
GOOD SAVE! Burnley work the ball to Scott Arfield who lets fly with a fierce shot from just outside the box. It's on target but a diving Lonergan manages to get down and parry it away at full stretch. Decent effort.
3'
Lots of early possession for the hosts at a very noisy Turf Moor Stadium. Burnley win a succession of throws down the right until Cameron Borthwick-Jackson intervenes and allows Leeds to gain possession and a chance to try and string a few passes together.
Bright start to the extra period by Burnley, who must have thought they were going out when Hernández scored his penalty only for Brady to come up with something really special.
1'
And we're off! Burnley get us underway at Turf Moor. The hosts in their traditional claret and blue. Leeds United all in white of course.
Here we go again folks! Sit back and relax as extra-time gets underway...
Good evening and welcome to our LIVE text commentary of Burnley vs Leeds United from Turf Moor in the Carabao Cup. There’s a place in the fourth round of the competition up for grabs tonight and the Premier League side will know they’re in for a tough game against a Leeds side currently top of the Championship. So without any further ado, let’s take a check on tonight’s two teams.
So former Leeds defender Charlie Taylor starts for Burnley but Chris Wood is only on the bench and so up front for Burnley tonight are Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes. The visitors, meanwhile, make just the NINE changes for tonight’s clash. Andy Lonergan takes over in goal while up front there is a debut for Pawel Cibicki.
Both teams head into this game in good form. Burnley are currently seventh in the Premier League table and drew 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield last time out. Leeds are top of the Championship, on goal difference from Wolves, with five wins from their first eight games.
Both sets of players are in the tunnel, not long to go now at Turf Moor!
Just a reminder that this tie has to be settled tonight one way or the other. So, we could be heading for extra-time and penalties ...
Burnley will probably be pleased with the way the first half went, but they are going to have to improve in front of goal if they are to win this match tonight.
Well if extra time is going to be anything like the end of the second half we are in for an absolute treat. Stay tuned folks because extra time is coming right up...
There are plenty of discussions going on between the match officials, players and managers as they figure out who is going to be taking the penalties...and there will be some tired legs out there now.
A quick reminder also that we will be using the ABBA system of penalties tonight. So Team A goes first, followed by two penalties for Team B, then back to Team A.
GOAL! Wood fires it straight down the middle. It's 1-1!
GOAL! Lasogga scores the first penalty for Leeds United, straight in the corner. Goalkeeper no chance.
GOAL! Pablo Hernández levels it up for Leeds with another superb spot kick.
GOAL! Klich scores - yet another clinical finish!
GOAL! Ashley Barnes makes it 2-1 to Burnley. Great penalties so far!
GOAL! Brilliant from Brady, his penalty just clipping the post and going in.
MISS! Disaster for James Tarkowski as his kick is saved by Lonergan. Advantage Leeds!
GOAL! They simply keep flying in - Alioski nets now for Leeds!
GOAL! Dallas thumps home the winning penalty for Leeds and they've done it! They win 5-3 on penalties and go through to the last 16 - Burnley are out!
ALL OVER! It's finally finished at Turf Moor and it's Leeds who are victorious. The Championship side rode their luck at times but having managed to draw 2-2 in normal time, hung on in extra time before winning on penalties. They go through to the next round, while it's disappointment for Burnley. That's all we have time for tonight, thanks for joining us!
