Close!! Robben swings in a deep corner from the right-hand side and Alonso gets up well the back post, but he can only head the ball wide of the left-hand post, and that could well be Bayern’s last opportunity.
90' +1
Mainz have done extremely well to take the intensity out of this game in the last few minutes and they look relatively comfortable as the game enters the first of three minutes of added time.
89'
K. Onisiwo gets yellow.
Onisiwo is shown a yellow card for what appears to be something he said to the referee having been fouled by Rafinha, as the card seemed to come out of nowhere.
87'
Bayern are seeing an awful lot of the ball now but they’re still struggling to create any meaningful chances, and Mainz are in no rush at all as Huth takes an age to take a goal kick.
85'
Bayern win a free-kick on the left-hand touchline following a foul on Coman by Donati and Thiago takes it quickly to swing a cross in towards the middle, but Mainz get enough men in the air to just about head the ball away from danger.
83'
Frei plays the ball down the left-hand channel for Muto to chase but the flag goes up for offside against the striker who had very little support anyway.
81'
Bayern are in complete control of this match now and Mainz are sitting incredibly deep, trying to see out the remaining minutes of this game for what would be an important point in their fight against relegation.
79'
It is Robben who takes the free-kick but he tries to curl the ball into the far corner instead of going over the wall, and it is easily cleared by Frei.
78'
André Ramalho enters the game and replaces R. Quaison.
Before the free-kick can be taken though Mainz are making a change with Quaison going off to be replaced by André Silva.
77'
They do though now get a free-kick just outside the Mainz penalty area after a foul by Quaison. This could well be perfect territory for Robben who is standing over it with Alonso.
Minute
Description
75'
More appeals for a penalty from the Bayern fans and this time the Bayern players agree as Hack goes in to challenge Lewandowski with a pretty high boot. Once again though the referee is not interested and waves play on.
73'
Thiago Alcântara has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by A. Robben.
Robben gave the pass into Thiago and went for the return ball, but Thiago took it upon himself to get his side level and did so superbly.
GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLL!!!! Thiago draws Bayern level!!! The midfielder receives a short pass from Robben before taking advantage of a slip by Bell to drill a low shot in off the post from 25 yards out.
71'
The Bayern fans have raised their noise levels in the last couple of minutes in an attempt to give their side a boost going into the final 20 minutes. Mainz meanwhile are essentially defending with five at the back and are making it extremely difficult for Bayern to break them down.
69'
Chance!! Kimmich has a good opportunity to bring Bayern level as he peels away at the back post and has only Huth to beat from a tight angle, but he is always backpedalling and can only head the ball straight into the side netting.
68'
K. Onisiwo enters the game and replaces Bojan Krkić.
Another substitution for Mainz now as Bojan is replaced by Karim Onisiwo.
67'
Coman gives the ball away cheaply and it deflects in behind the Bayern defence allowing Quaison to give chase to it, but Kimmich reacts quickly and slides in to make an important tackle to prevent the winger breaking clean through on goal.
65'
Xabi Alonso enters the game and replaces A. Vidal.
A third and final change for Bayern as they search for a way back into this game with Xabi Alonso coming on to replace Vidal. That decision may well have been made with the German Cup semi-final in midweek in mind.
63'
Huge appeals for a penalty from the Bayern fans as Thiago goes down in the middle of the Mainz penalty area, but referee Willenborg isn’t interested and in truth the Bayern players don’t look too disappointed with that decision
62'
Martin Schmidt is barking instructions to his players on the edge of his technical area as Bayern once again flood forward in numbers and Coman decides to go for goal himself from just outside the Mainz penalty area, but Huth gets down quickly at his near post to keep the ball out.
59'
Coman has looked extremely lively since coming off the bench at half-time and looks to get down the outside of the Mainz defence once again down the left-hand side, but this time Donati and Bell combine to force the winger into running the ball out of play for a goal kick.
57'
Ulreich is the only player on either side inside the Bayern half as Bernat once again gets on the ball in space close to the left-hand touchline, but with several teammates to aim for in the middle his cross is a poor one and goes straight out for a throw-in on the far side.
55'
Coman is tripped just inside his own half but manages to stay on his feet and Bayern work the ball out to Bernat is space on the left-hand side, but the referee stops play to award Bayern a free-kick for the initial trip, much to the frustration of the home fans who felt there was an advantage to be played there.
53'
Coman gets his first chance to run at the Mainz defence and he gets down the outside of Donati before cutting a cross back into a dangerous area, but the ball just evades Muller and Robben is not expecting it behind him, meaning he is unable to control the ball and Mainz survive another Bayern attack.
52'
L. Balogun enters the game and replaces D. Brosinski.
Mainz are going to be forced into making their first change now as the man who scored the second goal from the penalty spot, Brosinski, hobbles off to be replaced by Leon-Aderemi Balogun.
49'
Bayern have started this half extremely well and Robben whips in a dangerous looking corner from the right-hand side towards Vidal who attacks it well at the near post, but he fails to make any sort of contact with header and Mainz are able to clear the ball away from danger.
47'
SAVE!!! What a move from Bayern!! Robben cuts inside Hack and onto his right-foot before rolling the ball into Thiago who flicks the ball on to Vidal, and the midfielder chips a delicate pass back to Thiago inside the box who controls the ball on his chest before hitting a ferocious first-time volley towards goal, but Huth springs away high to his left to palm the ball away.
46'
K. Coman enters the game and replaces F. Ribéry.
Bayern are making another change at half-time and it is going to be Coman who comes on, with Ribery making way.
Kick-off! Bayern get the second half underway.
45' +1
There will be just one minute of added time at the end of this first half.
44'
Ulreich is down receiving some treatment having taken a knock during that passage of play. Bayern will certainly not want to lose him with Manuel Neuer already out for the rest of the season.
43'
Rafinha gets yellow.
Rafinha is shown his first yellow card of the season for a foul on Bojan on the left-hand side. The resultant free-kick leads to somewhat of a goalmouth scramble inside the Bayern penalty box which the home side eventually clear.
40'
Penalty goal scored by D. Brosinski for Mainz!
PENALTY TO MAINZ!!!
GOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!! Muto is brought down by Kimmich inside the penalty area and Brosinski steps up to slot the ball low past Ulreich into the bottom left-hand corner from the spot. The Bayern keeper might be a little disappointed not to have saved that as he got a decent hand to it, although it was fairly close to the corner.
38'
Mainz are looking to get the ball out to Donati and Oztunali on the right-hand side as often as possible as that’s where they’ve caused Bayern the most problems so far, but they’re still struggling to maintain possession for any length of time.
36'
Bayern are looking extremely dangerous on the counter-attack at the moment and threaten to open the Mainz defence up once again as Lewandowski breaks forward at pace through the middle, but his attempted pass into the path of Robben is blocked by Hack and Mainz survive once again.
34'
Another half chance at the other end now as the ball ricochets around the Bayern area before falling to Bojan 15 yards out, but the forward snatches at the opportunity and slices his shot high and wide of Ulreich’s goal.
33'
CLOSE!! Robben breaks forward at pace from deep inside his own half following a Mainz corner before sliding the ball into the path of Muller outside on the right-hand side, but the Bayern captain for the day fires his low, powerful effort inches wide of the far post from 18 yards out.
31'
A half chance for Bayern as Robben skips past Hack with ease on the right-hand side and has Lewandowski completely unmarked at the back post to aim for, but the winger’s cross is a poor one and goes straight into Huth’s grateful arms.
30'
Latza is brought down just inside the Bayern half by Thiago but the referee deems a free-kick to be sufficient. Mainz though chose to not send the big men forward from the back and instead chose to roll the ball backwards and retain possession.
27'
Lewandowski is allowed to turn in space just outside the Mainz penalty area after a neat pass from Vidal, but Heck gets out to him just in time to block the striker’s shot, although Huth has to watch carefully as the ball drops narrowly wide of his goal.
26'
Donati does well to win possession back for his side close to halfway and surges towards the Bayern penalty box, but he only has Muto up in support with him making his pass far too easy to read, and Thiago slides in to intercept the pass and divert it back towards his goalkeeper.
24'
Kimmich and Hummels are the deepest lying Bayern players on the pitch at the moment with the exception of Ulreich in goal, and the two centre-backs are being allowed to play the ball around on the halfway line with very little pressure on them.
22'
Ribery spots Bernat on the overlap outside him and slips the ball into the left-back’s path with Lewandowski waiting in the middle, but the pass is far too weak and Giulio Donati is able to get across and knock the ball out of play off Bernat for a Mainz goal kick.
20'
After a pretty poor opening 10 minutes the home side are now in complete control of this game, with Mainz sitting deep inside their own half and struggling to find any way out.
18'
Close!! Bayern come close to taking the lead as Muller gets in behind the Mainz defence down the right-hand edge of the penalty box and looks to play the ball across the face of goal towards Lewandowski at the back post, but the ball is just behind the striker and Mainz escape.
17'
J. Kimmich enters the game and replaces D. Alaba.
Bayern are going to be forced into an early change now though as Alaba is struggling with an injury and isn't going to be able to continue. Joshua Kimmich comes on in his place.
16'
A. Robben has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by F. Ribéry.
Ribéry drew the defenders well before playing a perfectly weighted pass into his teammate.
GOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! Robben draws Bayern level. Franck Ribery drives towards the Mainz penalty area from the left-hand side before playing a neat reverse pass into Robben’s path, and the Dutchman controls the ball well before slotting it across Jannik Huth and into the far corner.
15'
CHANCE!! A huge chance for Mainz to double their lead as Levin Oztunali is played clean through on goal with just Ulreich to beat, but the Mainz midfielder can’t get the ball out of his feet and ends up poking the ball too close to the keeper who makes a good save.
13'
Bayern look as though they’re just starting to get some control in this game now and Robben gets the first chance to run at the Mainz defence before cutting a low cross back towards Robert Lewandowski from the byline, but Alexander Hack is well positioned at the near post and clears the danger with relative ease.
11'
Bayern finally get a spell of possession and David Alaba knocks the ball out towards Juan Bernat on the left-hand touchline midway through the Mainz half, but the left-back loses possession almost immediately.
9'
Arturo Vidal tries to get Bayern going with a long, raking, cross-field pass towards Rafinha on the right-hand side, but Daniel Brosinski does well to read the pass and head the ball out of play.
7'
Bojan this time gives the ball away to Arjen Robben after Robin Quaison had done well to chest the ball towards the goal scorer. The fact that Robben is having to track back and defend on the edge of his own area so early on will be a concern for Carlo Ancelotti though.
5'
Bayern really haven’t got into this game at all and Mainz get into a good position once again down the right-hand edge of the penalty box through Yoshinori Muto, whose cross is deflected out for a corner, although the corner is easily headed clear.
3'
Bojan Krkić has scored a goal for Mainz!
GOOOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!!! Bojan gives Mainz the lead!!! Arturo Vidal give the ball away straight to the on-loan Stoke man on the edge of the Bayern box and he keeps his cool to slot the ball past Sven Ulreich from 12 yards out.
1'
Kick-off! Referee Frank Willenborg blows his whistle and Mainz get the game underway.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Bundesliga match between Bayern Munich and Mainz at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern currently sit top of the Bundesliga table and have an eight point lead over second placed RB Leipzig, although they have won just once in their last five games in all competitions.
Two of those games have come against Real Madrid in the Champions League though, and they have lost just twice all season in the Bundesliga.
Mainz meanwhile are 15th in the table, and are only above Augsburg in the relegation play-off spot on goal difference, having lost five of their last six games.
They do though come into the game on the back of a crucial 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin, with a John Brooks own goal enough to secure all three points for Martin Schmidt’s side.
Subs: Lossl, Balogun, Andre Ramalho, Serdar, Seydel, Onisiwo, De Blasis
Carlo Ancelotti makes four changes to his Bayern side that started in the Champions League against Real Madrid in midweek, with Sven Ulreich, Rafinha, Juan Bernat and Thomas Muller all coming into the side. Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Jerome Boateng and Xabi Alonso are them men who make way.
Mainz meanwhile make just two changes from the side that beat Hertha Berlin, as Jairo Samperio and Jhon Cordoba are replaced by Levin Oztunali and on-loan Stoke forward Bojan.
Robert Lewandowski scored twice and Arjen Robben scored once as Bayern came from behind to secure a 3-1 win when the two sides met earlier in the season at the Opel Arena.
The players are making their way out onto the pitch, with Thomas Muller leading Bayern as captain out for the first time in a competitive match. Kick-off is not far away now.
Half-time: Bayern Munich 1-2 Mainz
Martin Schmidt is still sat in his dugout making notes as the players make their way off the field, but he will be absolutely delighted as it stands, with his side leading the league leaders thanks to an early goal from Bojan and a penalty from Brosinski. Bayern have dominated the majority of the game though and came close to taking the lead a couple of times having equalised through Robben before Brosinski’s goal just before the break.
Carlo Ancelotti does have Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman available to him on the bench, and he may not wait too long before making a change in the second half if the scoreline remains the same. Mainz meanwhile will be looking for more of the same, although they will have to be wary of the threat Bayern pose on the break.
Full-time: Bayern Munich 2-2 Mainz
Mainz have held on against the league leaders to secure what could be an extremely crucial point in their battle against relegation. The visitors twice took the lead through Bojan and Daniel Brosinski’s penalty, but Bayern hit back to equalise both times thanks to goals from Arjen Robben and Thiago, but they were unable to find a winner late on despite dominating possession. That’s all from us for today, thanks for joining us and we hope you can join us again soon.
