The former Bayern striker has returned to haunt his ex-employers, and probably save his side from relegation to boot! What drama in the final seconds here and a massive result on the cards for the hosts!
89'
N. Petersen has scored a goal for Freiburg! Assist by K. Guédé.
FREIBURG HAVE DONE IT! What a ball from Guede, who curls one around two defenders, and it lands perfectly for Petersen at the back post. From there, the substitute stabs it home, wrong-footing Neuer!
86'
N. Petersen enters the game and replaces A. Mehmedi.
OFFSIDE! The stadium erupts as Petersen is played in behind the defence, but a good spot from the linesman has him about a hair beyond the last Bayern player when the ball was played.
85'
M. Philipp enters the game and replaces M. Mujdža.
84'
WHAT A SAVE! Thiago lets fly from 20 yards, and it was heading to the bottom corner, but Burki stuck out a hand to tip it wide! That was an excellent move from Bayern, and an even better stop.
82'
Not a lot happening in the closing stages in terms of chances. It's the visitors who look more likely to make the breakthrough for a winner though, as they find more space down the wings.
80'
No goals yet in the second half, but Bayern have knocked at the door a few times. However, it's Freiburg who will feel the most hard done by after that no-call on a foul by Rafinha in the box.
78'
CHANCE FOR GOTZE! Lahm plays the former Dortmund man in behind the defence, and he gets just enough time to have a touch before Burki clatters into him. No penalty, and no goal either, with the ball heading wide!
76'
Darida attempts to catch Neuer off his line with a lob, but it was never heading on target. Moments later, Thiago hooks one over the top for Lewandowski to chase, but Burki is there to smother.
74'
The ball sets up nicely for Gunter at the top of the box, but his attempt on the half-volley flies wide of the mark. He probably had time to control that and get a better sight on goal.
Minute
Description
73'
M. Frantz enters the game and replaces F. Klaus.
72'
P. Lahm enters the game and replaces B. Schweinsteiger.
Thiago Alcântara enters the game and replaces S. Rode.
NEARLY A FREAK OWN GOAL! Muller hangs a cross into the six-yard area, but the ball deflects off the knee of Klaus, who is relieved to see Burki keep a hold of that one!
70'
OFF THE CROSSBAR! Schweinsteiger curls it in from the angle, but it thuds off the top of the frame of the goal! What an attempt from the veteran midfielder, and I think that he meant that!
68'
Klaus gives away a dangerous free kick on the corner of the box for shoving Schweinsteiger out of the way. Bayern get bodies forward, and the visiting side have some defending to do now.
66'
Guede is booked after he slid in late on Neuer. The Bayern goalkeeper had raced off his line and was in control of a long punt forward, but the Freiburg striker didn't pull out of his challenge.
65'
K. Guédé gets yellow.
64'
T. Müller enters the game and replaces Xabi Alonso.
Indeed, the Bayern manager pulls the trigger on his first sub. Off goes Alonso and on comes Muller. Midfielder for attacker in a clear signal of intent from the Spaniard to go for the win.
62'
Less than half an hour to go now and no sign of a further breakthrough. Bayern have had more of the ball but Freiburg have looked more dangerous with it. Guardiola looks to be readying a change.
60'
Alonso lines up another long-range free-kick, but this one takes a deflection and is out for a corner. The resulting delivery can't be turned into a chance by the visitors though, as Freiburg clear.
58'
Every subsequent viewing of the replay only reflects worse on the officials. Those are the kind of decisions that can decide an entire season. Rafinha has a boneheaded play or two in him, and he was very lucky to escape retribution there. Still a goal apiece.
56'
FREIBURG WANT A PENALTY! And they had a strong case! As the ball came in from the right, Mehmedi was primed to tap it in, but Rafinha clearly stuck out his arm to tug him back! The referee rules it a dive, and the home side and their fans are furious!
54'
If scores around the league hold, then Freiburg will drop one place into 16th, leaving them in the relegation zone heading into the final matchday of the season. Still plenty of time for that to change though.
52'
Rode has been very active throughout this match, playing a key role in many of the home side's counter attacks by pressing the opposing player on the ball. He's also made some dangerous bursts into the final third.
50'
Bayern have started the second half on top in terms of possession. What Freiburg really haven't been able to do is exploit the visitors' high defensive line, which has regularly been camped around the halfway line.
48'
Bayern get a free kick in a promising position about 25 yards from goal. Plenty of options, but Alonso is the one to take responsibility. However, he gets it wrong, slashing the ball over the top of the bar.
46'
Here we go again.
45'
Late attempt at a shooting chance from Bayern as Schweinsteiger works the ball infield for Alonso, who in turn tries to clip one over the top for Weiser. However, the defence is there to clear.
43'
Some scrappy fouls around the pitch break up what little momentum was remaining in this game. Still, it's been relatively clean so far, with neither team doing anything deserving of a yellow card.
41'
Freiburg can't profit from a free-kick down the right-hand side. The ball is curled into the area, but Bayern manage to clear with ease. Not long left in the half now, and the intensity is starting to wind down a little.
39'
Lewandowski controls a ball excellently at the top of the box and tries to flick it through to Weiser, who was running on the overlap on the Pole's blind side. However, he can't put enough of a gentle touch on the ball.
37'
Even a draw would be a decent result for the home side, but they clearly want to take all three points here in their bid for survival. It's too bad that their execution hasn't matched their intentions more often than not though.
35'
So, back to square one with about 10 minutes remaining in the first half now. Bayern have been able to keep a very high defensive line so far, but it has had the added effect of sandwiching play in midfield.
33'
A. Mehmedi has scored a goal for Freiburg! Assist by F. Klaus.
MEHMEDI TIES IT UP! Klaus releases the ball to the striker, who shows great footwork to evade his man before punting a low effort into the corner! Neuer was beaten at full stretch!
31'
It's developed into a more even game in the last few minutes. Still, Freiburg are lacking that thrust to move the ball more quickly out of defence. That has given Bayern a lot of time to set up their ranks.
29'
You have to appreciate the pressing intensity of Bayern here. Rode absolutely hounds Mujdza off the ball near the touchline, causing the full-back to cough up possession. It was a nothing position too, but no letting up as far as Guardiola and his men are concerned.
27'
RIGHT AT THE KEEPER! Bayern cause problems from a corner once again, with Boateng planting a punishing header down the throat of Burki. There was so much power on that one, that the Freiburg stopper would have probably been beaten had it not been straight in his direction!
25'
Freiburg try to fashion another shooting chance. Darida evades his man and lets the ball ride for Klaus, who lets fly again, but it was blocked. A little better from them as they claw their way back into contention.
23'
Schmid's corner is worked to Klaus on the corner of the box, but the midfielder's effort is high and wide of the target. That's as good as it has gotten for Freiburg in a long while in terms of attacking threat.
21'
Not a lot happening in terms of chances in the last few minutes. The visitors are enjoying an almost uninterrupted spell in possession, forcing the hosts to tire themselves by doing all the running.
19'
Gotze has been caught offside once or twice as he looks to break in between the full-back and the centre-back. The home defence have read his intentions well so far though, and are pushing up when required.
17'
Bayern are starting to put the clamp down in terms of possession. This is exactly the start that Guardiola would have wanted, and now his side can build attacks in their usual methodical manner.
15'
Bayern were ramping up the pressure in the minutes preceding that opener, and are now looking hungry for a second. A lot of good has come down the right-hand side for then through Weiser and Rafinha.
13'
B. Schweinsteiger has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by M. Weiser.
BAYERN LEAD! Moments after they thought they had broken the deadlock, the Bavarians notch one on the scoreboard for real. Schweinsteiger converts from inside the are after a setup from Weiser!
11'
GOAL RULED OUT! Benatia rises highest to thump in an excellent header from a corner, but it appeared that he used illegal measures to gain the advantage over Krmas. The referee blows for a foul.
9'
MASSIVE CHANCE! Schmid doesn't give up on a loose ball, and beats the Bayern midfield to the punch. He storms forward and is about to pull the trigger, but Benatia slides in at the last to snuff out the attempt!
7'
The home side are starting to put together some more encouraging sequences on the ball, with Hofler and Schmid combining well on the right side of midfield. Bayern are getting penned back a little.
5'
Great noise here early on, with the fans knowing the gravity of the situation facing their team and the potential of an upset against a wobbling Bayern. Freiburg haven't looked uncomfortable so far.
3'
Bayern try to force some early pressure with Boateng on the ball, but he runs out of options other than a square ball. Don't underestimate the visitors' commitment to this game. Wounded pride is something else.

Off we go!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Bundesliga match between Freiburg and Bayern Munich. The Bavarians have two games left in what turned out to be a fairly sobering season, and will want to finish on a high. Meanwhile, this afternoon's hosts are fighting to avoid the drop, sitting only a place above the relegation zone. I'm Keeghann Sinanan, your guide for all the action.
Bayern have lost their last two league fixtures, but with the title already won, that would not have worried Pep Guardiola too much. What would have is the collapse in other competitions, as they were knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona, and the DFB-Pokal by Borussia Dortmund. Those results have started mass speculation over the future of the Spaniard. There's bound to be changes at some level at die Roten this summer.
The battle for survuval is well and truly on. Only four points separate 13th place Hertha and bottom side Stuttgart. Freiburg know that matters of safety will most likely go down to the final matchday. The hosts haven't won in five games though, but will fancy their chances of pulling off a result against the wounded champs.
Frieburg haven't won a competitive game against Bayern in almost 20 years, with a 3-1 home victory in March 1996 their last success. In fact, in their last 25 league games against die Roten, the Breisgau-Brasilianer have lost 20. This afternoon sees the weakest home side in the division square off against the strongest travellers.
Freiburg name an unchanged starting lineup from their last outing, a 1-1 draw at Hertha. Meanwhile, Bayern swap three players from their second leg against Barcelona, with Sebastian Rode, Mario Gotze and Mitchell Weiser coming in for Philipp Lahm, Thiago and Thomas Muller.
That will do it for now, as both teams head into the break all square. Schweinsteiger's opener was cancelled out by Mehmedi, and to be fair, the scoreline is a just reflection of matters on the pitch. Neither side have been truly dominant so far. A lot to play for after the restart, so stay tuned.
FREIBURG HAVE SEALED THE DEAL! They inflict Bayern's third league defeat in a row and give their own chances of survival an incomprehensible boost. Petersen struck the winner on the cusp of injury time which keeps his team clear of the relegation zone. Bayern are tripping over themselves to finish this season!
This stadium is rocking from root to tip. We'll leave them to their celebrations. From me, Keeghann Sinanan, it's been a pleasure.
