It's all over here this entertaining contest finishes 2-2. Swansea will be kicking themselves after leading twice before being pegged back by the visitors. Newcastle in the end will feel that they deserved something from the game after refusing to lie down.
90' +2
SHOT! Janmaat stings the palms of Fabianski from thirty yards out. The ball swerved in the air and you thought for a split-second that it might just squirm underneath the Swansea keeper but he managed to get his body behind it in the end.
89'
If there is to be a winner here you are beginning to feel that it might just be the away side are the ones to get it. Plenty of observers have questioned the fight in this Newcastle side and their willingness to give everything for their manager but they have certainly showed some heart today.
88'
M. Sissoko gets yellow.
D. Janmaat gets yellow.
87'
SAVE! Krul this time denies sub Marvin Emnes who used his pace to dart down the left-hand channel for Swansea. Emnes it seems was in two minds and ends up closing down the angle for a shot on himself and can only fire straight at the Newcastle goalkeeper.
86'
J. Montero enters the game and replaces N. Dyer.
M. Emnes enters the game and replaces G. Sigurðsson.
85'
Ayoze Pérez enters the game and replaces P. Cissé.
Flurry of substitutions for both sides. Cisse won't be getting his hat-trick as he is replaced by Ayoze Perez. While Garry Monk has responded to the Newcastle resurgence by introducing Montero and Emnes who have come on for Sigurdsson and Dyer.
83'
Sissoko has come alive since Newcastle made it 2-2. The powerful French midfielder bursts forward with the ball before playing in Riviere down the right. Riviere tries to pick out Cisse but Fernandez is in the right place from a Swansea point of view and is able to cut the ball out.
81'
SHOT! Cisse is eventually flagged for offside but he didn't know that when the ball fell to his feet in the Swansea area. The Newcastle striker ballooned his shot over the crossbar after first Janmaat and then Riviere had shots blocked by Williams.
79'
Up until that opportunity for Shelvey, Swansea seemed to have been rattled by that second Newcastle equaliser. For the first time today you can hear that the Toon Army believe that they can go on and win this game.
Minute
Description
77'
Half a chance for Swansea! Bony clips a lovely ball into the path of Shelvey who tries to lob the ball on the half volley over Krul. Unfortunately for the Swans his effort isn't troubling the Newcastle goal.
75'
P. Cissé has scored a goal for Newcastle United! Assist by S. Ameobi.
GOAL! Cisse has done it again! It's 2-2. Lifeline for Newcastle. Sammy Ameobi skips down the right wing and delivers a fanastic cross with his left foot which dissects the Swansea centre back and leaves Cisse with the simplest of finishes from six yards out. Game on again.
73'
J. Shelvey gets yellow.
SAVE! Another fine stop from Tim Krul keeps his side in the game. Bony surely must've thought he had his second goal of the game as he side footed the ball with his right foot on target from about twelve yards but yet again he is denied by the reflexes of the Dutch international goalkeeper.
71'
Sigurdsson almost gets Swansea in on goal after Cruyff-turning his marker. The ex-Spurs playmaker tries make inroads down the left-hand channel but Janmaat comes across and covers well.
69'
E. Rivière enters the game and replaces J. Colback.
Cisse will welcome the sight of some help upfront as he has had next to no help from his teammates. Ameobi has been lively since coming on and travelling Newcastle fans will want to see Shola's younger brother on the ball as much as possible.
67'
Riviere is ready to enter the fray as Pardew enters the last chance saloon in this match. The Swansea midfield five are totally dominating proceedings at this moment in time. Newcastle really need the likes of Tiote and Colback to start asserting some authority in the midfield area as soon as possible.
64'
Newcastle are really struggling to get out of their half at the moment. Bony then fires over after collecting Sigurdsson's delightful backheel. Swansea are really starting to enjoy themselves now. Shelvey and Ki are screening the back four very well and not allowing the visitors an easy out ball.
62'
Coloccini's fairly miserable game doesn't get any better after his failing arm earns him a deserved yellow card. Sigurdsson, who already has two assists in this match, whips the ball into the box but Mike Williamson heads the ball away.
61'
F. Coloccini gets yellow.
60'
Sammy Ameobi gets straight into the thick of the action as he drives past the Swansea right back Jazz Richards. The young Newcastle United winger fizzes in a low cross but the City defence is well positioned and clears the ball away to safety.
58'
S. Ameobi enters the game and replaces Y. Gouffran.
57'
Unsurprisingly it is the away side that make the first change of the game with Sammy Ameobi coming on for Gouffran. The Newcastle fans will hardly notice that Gouffran has come off - he has contributed next to nothing. Totally anonymous, very disappointing from a player who has the ability to give so much more to the team.
54'
You suspect that Swansea won't be quite so forgiving after going into the lead for a second time this afternoon. Do Newcastle have the spirit and resolve to get level again? Big questions will be asked of Pardew and his players, can they come up with the right answers?
52'
Newcastle certainly didn't learn their lesson from the first half as the second Swansea goal was remarkably similiar to Bony's goal. There was next to no pressure on the ball. Sissoko was brushed off by Sigurdsson far too easily and no-one went with the run of Routledge. Basic defensive errors.
50'
W. Routledge has scored a goal for Swansea City! Assist by G. Sigurðsson.
GOAL! Swansea are back in front through Wayne Routledge. There was a hint of a free-kick in the build-up to the goal as Sigurdsson appeared to push Sissoko. The referee waved play on and Sigurdsson threaded a perfect through-ball to Routledge who calmly chipped the ball over the onrushing Tim Krul. Simple as you like from the home team.
47'
The atmosphere has been pretty flat here at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon. Maybe the Swansea faithful were expecting this match to be a bit more routine than it has proved to be so far. The City fans are probably still in shock after the Newcastle equaliser.
46'
Newcastle get the second half started. Can either team grab all three points? An intriguing 45 minutes to come you suspect. All to play for.
45'
And that's half-time 1-1!
44'
Wow! I thought that Swansea's goal was out of the blue but no-one could've seen that equaliser coming. Completely against the run of play. Garry Monk will be scratching his head and wondering how his side have allowed that to happen. Newcastle right back in it.
43'
P. Cissé has scored a goal for Newcastle United! Assist by G. Obertan.
GOAL! Talk about an unexpected equaliser! Cisse makes it 1-1. Obertan dribbles past Neil Taylor and feeds the ball into the near post and finds Cisse who flicks the ball into the far corner with a very tidy finish.
41'
Newcastle are very much huffing and puffing when they come forward. It looks like they are doing so more in hope than in expectation of anything happening for them in an attacking sense. There is a desperate lack of invention and imagination in their pass in and around the Swansea penalty area.
39'
Dummett scampers down on the overlap from his left back position and tries to fire in a cross but is cut out by Jazz Richards at near post. Newcastle launch the subsequent corner into the box but it is overhit and Fernandez is able to hack the ball clear.
37'
SAVE! And what a good stop it is from Krul. Nathan Dyer skinned Paul Dummett down the Swansea right wing and delivers an excellent cross which is met by Wilfried Bony's half volley. It looked to be nestling in the bottom corner until Krul flung himself low to his left and parried it clear. So close to 2-0 and probably game over.
34'
Tiote not for the first time in his career brings down his opponent with a fairly cynical challenge. Sigurdsson takes the result set piece and the Iceland international beautifully picks out Ki Seung-Yeung who somehow manages to head the ball wide from eight yards out. Luckily for the South Korean he had already been flagged offside.
32'
OVER! Shelvey works the ball onto his favoured right foot and tries to bend into the top corner from about 25 yards out. But his curling shot goes harmlessly over the Tim Krul's crossbar.
30'
Even though their has only been half an hour of play Pardew must be already thinking about when he might want to introduce a second striker to support Cisse. There is no need to panic yet but the Newcastle number nine is very isolated at the moment. Coloccini was livid with his teammates after the opening goal but to be honest he was most at fault.
27'
Alan Pardew will be reasonably satisified with how his side have done with the ball. They have been neat and tidy without ever being incisive. The under-pressure Newcastle United manager will however want to see his midfielders get up to support the lone striker Cisse a lot more quickly than they have done so far.
25'
Garry Monk won't believe his luck at the moment. Swansea haven't played with their normal pace and tempo but they find themselves ahead after only having one serious attack so far. The goal has certainly given them a confidence boost and the passes are now being strung together with a bit more fluency.
22'
The Geordies have enjoyed a fair amount of possession since going behind but they haven't looked like causing Swansea any real problems at the moment. It is crucial for Newcastle that they don't go two down as that could prove fatal even at this relatively early stage of the game.
19'
That goal for Swansea came out of absolutely nowhere. Newcastle have not been threatened at all up until that point. The Magpies were clinically punished for not putting enough pressure on the ball. It was a pretty straightforward give-and-go between Sigurdsson and Bony that opened them up. At this level of football it was all too simple.
17'
W. Bony has scored a goal for Swansea City! Assist by G. Sigurðsson.
GOAL! Wilfried Bony makes it 1-0 to Swansea with his first goal of the season. The Ivorian plays a lovely one-two with Sigurdsson and gets himself clear one-on-one with Tim Krul and he makes no mistake slotting the ball home. That was far, far too easy for the Swans. Pardew must be furious.
16'
SHOT! Obertan almost takes advantage after Gylfi Sigurdsson had mistcontrolled the ball into his path. The former Manchester United midfielder bursts into space but drags his shot well wide in the end. That was a decent opening for Newcastle.
13'
Newcastle are dropping off Swansea when they have the ball. Which means that the likes of Shelvey and Ki Seung-Yeung are getting plenty of time and space but at the moment all of their passes are sideways and backwards.
10'
It's been a very low-key and subdued start to this match and that feeling is being replicated in the stands here in South Wales. It will certainly suit Newcastle United that Swansea haven't come flying out of the blocks. Confidence can't be terribly high in Alan Pardew's dressing room at the moment and it will be good for the visitors to settle into the match.
8'
The Swans are yet to get their key players into the game. Bony, Dyer and Sigurdsson have seen very little of the ball so far and Alan Pardew will be keen for that trend to continue. City need to be a bit more careful in possession their passing has been a bit sloppy so far.
6'
For the first time in the match Newcastle try to get in behind Swansea. Sissoko releases Obertan down the right but the French winger can't find Cisse with his cut back. The Toon Army will be pleased to see that sort of positive intent from their team.
4'
Newcastle have made a solid start here. They haven't allowed the home side to settle into their usual passing rhythm. Garry Monk will be eager for his side to make a bright start after not winning any of their last three Premier League games.
2'
Jack Colback takes the first free-kick of the game but his chipped cross is easily headed clear by the Swansea skipper Ashley Williams. Newcastle are attacking the end where their fans are housed in this first half.
1'
And we are off at the Liberty Stadium! Swansea get us underway. Newcastle are in their changed strip of navy blue and green.
Welcome along to the Liberty Stadium for this Premier League contest between Swansea City and Newcastle United. I'm Chris Baker and I'll be guiding you through this afternoon's events.
You feel that this is perhaps not must-win for Alan Pardew but certainly must-not-lose. A defeat this afternoon might prove to be the final straw for Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley. Papiss Cisse and Gabriel Obertan are handed rare starts as the Magpies look for an upturn in results.
Garry Monk welcomes back influential striker Wilfried Bony who is back after suspension and replaces Gomis. Jonjo Shelvey has earnt himself an England recall this week and will be looking to show everyone why he was worthy of Roy Hodgson's squad. With Angel Rangel suspended and Tiendalli out injured there is a first Premier League start since 2011 for Jazz Richards at right back.
What a difference a goal makes. Alan Pardew was staring down the barrel of another very tricky half-time teamtalk before seeing his side haul themselves back onto level terms just before the break. Newcastle equalised totally against the run of play and should take great heart from that.
It was almost a case of things perhaps being too comfortable for Swansea. They went ahead without even having to put too much effort in. After going ahead with such relative ease you thought they would press home that advantage and put Newcastle to the sword but that hasn't materialised. Garry Monk will want his player's to up the ante after the break as they look capable of opening up the Newcastle defence seemingly at will.
Newcastle certainly delivered a masterclass in terms of how to be clinical infront of goal. They rarely troubled Lukasz Fabianksi but when they did Papiss Cisse was at his ruthless best. This result won't make the pressure on Alan Pardew go away but he will be very encouraged by the way his player's fought for the cause this afternoon.
When Swansea went a goal up you felt that it might be a bit of a stroll in the park for them against a Newcastle side severely lacking in confidence. For whatever reason, be it complacency or a lack of concentration the Swans couldn't kill this game off and ultimately it came back to haunt them. Tim Krul was in inspired form for the Magpies today and if he hadn't been at his best then maybe Garry Monk would be celebrating another three points. The City manager will however be concerned with the way his team allowed Newcastle back into the match twice.
All the remains for me to say is thanks very much for joining me this afternoon. It was a thoroughly entertaining game. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I've been Chris Baker and until next time...
