Deep into garbage time now, as Germany seem to have given up the ghost at this point. Argentina are playing out this one comfortably, having weathered the final German offensive.
90'
Germany just overplay an intricate move at the top of the box. Argentina have almost all their players back on the edge of their area to close out this game. Not long now for them to hold out.
89'
Some desperate defending prevents Germany from profiting from a dangerous free kick at the near post. Would have been interesting if that one flew in. As it was though, they only got a corner and it ended up being catching practice for Andujar.
87'
The star of the show takes his final curtain call. Di Maria's fingerprints were all over each and every Argentina goal. I haven't seen that dominant of an international performance for some time. Even the home fans know greatness when they see it, giving a sporting round of applause.
86'
R. Álvarez enters the game and replaces Á. Di María.
I've just seen a replay of that Reus shot that hit the post for the first time, and it appears that Romero did get a touch on that to help in onto the woodwork! What a fabulous save!
84'
Rudiger does excellently to stop Argentina from advancing down the right hand side, making a great interception before Aguero could take the killer second touch to advance infield on goal.
83'
N. Gaitán enters the game and replaces S. Agüero.
82'
Now then, Germany have eight minutes and change to dig out two goals in the time that remains. They've scored two scrappy ones and I bet that they'll take two more messes if it means restoring some pride.
80'
M. Andújar enters the game and replaces S. Romero.
Martino finally makes the change that he should have 10 minutes ago. Romero, struggling with his right calf, departs for Andujar. Not to excuse his mistake for the recent goal on his injury, but he should not have still been on the pitch!
Minute
Description
78'
M. Götze has scored a goal for Germany!
GERMANY HAVE ANOTHER! Romero has to take the blame for that. Die Nationalmannschaft worked the ball to the near post, but the keeper palms the ball back into the mixer instead of smothering. Gotze swings at it from the top of the box, and a deflection off Fernandez guides it home!
77'
H. Campagnaro enters the game and replaces P. Zabaleta.
A. Rüdiger enters the game and replaces B. Höwedes.
OFF THE INSIDE OF THE POST! A fabulous effort from Marco Reus! On his right foot and at an angle, he curls one towards the far side, which leaves the woodwork shaking!
76'
Argentina were knocked out by Germany at each of the last three World Cups. They lost on penalties in the quarter-finals to Jurgen Klinsmann's Nationalmannschaft in 2006, before conceding four goals in 2010 at the same stage. Then there was July.
74'
With just over 15 minutes on the clock, this match may just be moving beyond Germany now. Di Maria continues to launch artillery into the Germany penalty area. More likely an Argentine fifth than a Germany second.
72'
Sebastian Rudy comes on the field to replace Kroos, who had a game of two halves - not in the way that the cliche normally applies. His quick-release passing facilitated numerous Germany counters, but the level of protection that he offered the players behind him left A LOT to be desired.
71'
S. Rudy enters the game and replaces T. Kroos.
The match has finally slowed down into the tempo that you might expect of a friendly. It's Argentina's turn to monopolize possession, though it's broken up for the referee to book Podolski for a nasty follow-through on Zabaleta. He trod on his foot there, clear yellow.
70'
Ł. Podolski gets yellow.
69'
Lamela jogs off as his number is held up on the sidelines. He's not been as consistently deadly as Di Maria, but his quality was evident through his goal. Highlight of an outstanding Argentine night for me.
68'
F. Gago enters the game and replaces É. Lamela.
Reus really hasn't had the impact that we would have wanted. He works an angle for a shot well at the top of the box, but ends up missing the target by a mile. Romero had it well covered anyway.
66'
Romero looks to have twinged his calf after his latest interception, and he's taking time during every dead spell to stretch it against the post. Do Argentina really need to risk him if there's even the slightest chance of an injury? I'm sure Sampdoria fans at home are screaming "SUB!" at their TVs.
64'
Fernandez goes sliding into Reus near the byline, but he gets a good chunk of the ball before sending the BVB man flying. Germany want a penalty, the referee serves up a corner.
62'
Germany are on top in the last few minutes, but Argentina look more than capable of goals every time they break forward. We could yet have more drama in this one, with both teams having nothing to lose.
60'
Germany's pride is wounded now, and they are pressing very high up the field, trying to get more goals on the board. Gotze and Muller come close to beating Romero, before Podolski sees his rebound blocked.
58'
Double change for Germany, and it's two World Cup heroes coming on. Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze take the field, with Schurrle and Gomez departing. The Fiorentina striker in particular had a dreadful outing. He'll want to forget tonight in a hurry.
57'
T. Müller enters the game and replaces A. Schürrle.
M. Götze enters the game and replaces M. Gómez.
56'
You look at Di Maria lighting the pitch on fire and you have to wonder just how Argentina would have fared had he been fit for the World Cup final. Of course, Germany could say the same about Reus, but he's been largely on the periphery of this game.
54'
NEARLY A FIFTH! Yet again Di Maria leaves his man eating dust. He has goals on his mind this time, and attempts to squeeze in a shot at the near post. Weidenfeller is not having it though, and makes a save with his third touch. His first two were to pick the ball out of the back of the net.
52'
A. Schürrle has scored a goal for Germany!
SCHURRLE RESCUES ONE! It's raining goals here in Dusseldorf! A corner is not properly dealt with by Argentina, and it eventually breaks for the Chelsea man, who pokes home from point blank range.
50'
Á. Di María has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by P. Zabaleta.
DI MARIA IS RUNNING RIOT! IT'S 4-0! A magnificently worked goal from Argentina sees a one-touch buildup free Di Maria down the left. Aguero lines up in the centre, but for once, Di Maria takes the selfish route and beautifully chips it over Weidenfeller!
47'
F. Fernández has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by Á. Di María.
Changes to round up from the break and the main one is not in a position that you would expect. Manuel Neuer has not come out for the second half, giving Roman Weidenfeller the gloves. Enzo Perez has also departed for Agusto Fernandez.
IT'S 3-0! My word, how many goals can one man set up? Di Maria swings in his latest jaw-dropping ball, this one a free kick towards the far post. Federico Fernandez rises highest to slam a header into the net!
46'
R. Weidenfeller enters the game and replaces M. Neuer.
A. Fernández enters the game and replaces E. Pérez.
Here we go again!
45' +1
That's half time.
45'
Well, some measure of revenge here. This match has had all the best hallmarks of a friendly - a wide open tempo and the men on the pitch playing without any fear or consequence.
Argentina have carved Germany apart regularly, and twice produced goals of outstanding quality. Di Maria has been red-hot, slicing in and out of the Nationalmannschaft ranks with regularity.
Germany have had more than their fair share of chances on the break. But Gomez has been profligate and Romero reliable in the Argentine goal. Low's men still have consistently created chances on the counter thanks to winning the ball in midfield though, so don't write them off yet.
44'
Gomez is not having a happy night. Reus takes aim from the top of the box and though it's right at Romero, he can't keep a hold of it. Gomez has the rebound inside the box. That should be his bread and butter, but he instead shanks it badly wide.
42'
That German left flank has been shambolic. Durm has been caught out of position with regularity, which has left Ginter stranded against Di Maria more than once. We've also seen the weaknesses in Kroos' defensive game on a few occasions.
40'
É. Lamela has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by Á. Di María.
Reus tries to make something happen with a wriggling run down the byline, but Romero covers his near post well and prevents him from getting the angle for a shot or a tee-up for the waiting Gomez.
What looked like a great situation for Germany ends terribly. A free kick from Kroos goes over the head of Rojo at the far post, and Schurrle picks up the pieces. He can definitely shoot from that range, but his effort is so bad, it goes out for a throw in. Embarrassing.
ARGENTINA ADD A SPLENDID SECOND! Germany's left flank is carved apart once again and no surprise to hear who is the tormentor in chief. Di Maria benefits from acres of space to cut onto his left and swing a cross towards Lamela at the top of the box. From there, Lamela uses the side of his boot to slam a sumptuous volley home! WHAT ABOUT THAT!
38'
Di Maria again causes panic in the German ranks. He ghosts by Durm once again, using the outside of his boot to attempt to pick out Aguero, but his cross is deflected into the path of Neuer.
36'
I have to say that I'm surprised that there's not been more goals in this one. Argentina have appeared ripe for the picking on the counter, but Romero has twice pulled off excellent saves to deny the Germans who themselves have looked wobbly at the back.
34'
That's the end of the game for Draxler. He's been looking legged and as predicted, he doesn't make it till half-time. An impact knock in an aerial challenge was the straw that broke the camel's back. On comes Lukas Podolski and he'll slot right in on the left, with Reus moving centrally.
33'
Ł. Podolski enters the game and replaces J. Draxler.
32'
Di Maria leaves Durm for dead with a delicate skip into the area. He has the space to shoot but it's a typical Di Maria effort, lacking the requisite power and straight down the throat of Neuer. Probably his only weakness in an otherwise sterling repertoire of abilities.
30'
Well, I guess that the Argentine sloppiness is not quite out of their system. Biglia gave up possession nearly on the edge of his own box during that last sequence. That's at least the sixth or seventh glaring turnover from the men in blue. Not good enough.
28'
GOMEZ HAD TO SCORE! Kramer passes up about three different shooting opportunities in a wriggling spell of possession inside the box. He eventually finds the surging run of Kroos into the area, who squares to Gomez at the far post. The tap-in seams inevitable, but the Fiorentina striker smacks it against the legs of Romero!
26'
The home fans do not like this upturn in fortunes for Argentina. They're dominating the ball at the moment and are not succumbing to the mistakes that characterized their earlier spells in possession.
24'
Neuer has to save low down as Germany are rocking a bit here! That goal has rattled their confidence. They were so much in control before that. Can la Albiceleste take advantage of their rough patch?
22'
Demichelis nearly hams it up in spectacular fashion, coughing up the ball to Reus inside his own half. The Dortmund man intelligently squares it to Kroos, who surprisingly misses the target from his favourite zone at the top of the box.
20'
J. Draxler gets yellow.
S. Agüero has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by Á. Di María.
Draxler joins Demichelis in the book for sliding in on Mascherano. The referee deems it harsh enough for a yellow card. He's moving a little heavily, the Schalke man. Will he last much longer?
ARGENTINA TAKE THE LEAD! A wonderfully crafted goal! Zabaleta makes an overlapping run that Di Maria ignores. The Manchester United man instead elects to swing a glorious curling ball towards the six-yard area, where Aguero strides into space to convert!
19'
Argentina's attempts to take a stranglehold of the midfield is falling flat. They are losing the ball consistently in central areas, which is facilitating the German counter-attacking approach.
18'
Schurrle pretty much re-wrote the definition of 'impact substitute' during the World Cup. He scored three goals, including a crucial one against Algeria in the knockout stages. But his biggest moment came in the final, when he sprinted past his man to cross for Gotze to score the winner in extra time. Argentina are well aware of his danger, and are forcing him towards the corner flag whenever they can.
17'
M. Demichelis gets yellow.
Demichelis pulls off a rash challenge on Kramer that sends him flying. The referee does not hesitate to show the Manchester City man the yellow card, the first booking of this game.
16'
Quarter of an hour gone and I've thoroughly enjoyed the ebb and flow of this match. It's been a treat to watch the rapier-like attacking of Germany after some ponderous play during their victorious World Cup campaign. Argentina, through Di Maria, also look capable of causing Neuer some trouble.
14'
Aguero is crowded out before he can finish on the turn in a great position deep inside the box. That sparks a German counter, and Schurrle has Gomez peeling through unmarked in the centre. He tries the diagonal through pass, but it's too far behind the striker and kills the momentum of the move.
12'
Germany have generally bossed this, but we've seen some real positive signs from Di Maria early on. He started on the left but as of late, he's been cutting centrally from the right flank.
10'
ROMERO PARRIES! Not for the first time, Kroos ins the instigator, playing a lovely through pass on the ground to pick out Gomez's early run. He has the angle to shoot, but he drills it a little too close to the Sampdoria keeper.
8'
Superb work from Di Maria sees him skip past a first, then a second German defender. He has the step on his man, but the ball juuuuuust about runs through to Neuer.
7'
Durm gets a great amount of space down the left and races onto Kroos' through pass. Lamela was lax in his tracking of the left-back, but Fermandez wasn't. The new Swansea man strides across to challenge Durm and concede a corner.
5'
Germany did so well with Klose and Muller splitting duties as the lone forward during the World Cup. Gomez had a mixed time assuming the same role during Euro 2012, so it will be fascinating to see how he gets on in a side set up to attack at pace.
3'
Martino expressed his desire pre-match to control possession in this game, holding a high defensive line. It will be risky against this particular Germany XI. With Draxler and Reus in tow, not to mention Schurrle, this side is better equipped to play on the counter than the one that took the field at the Maracana.

Here we go!
Welcome to our live coverage of the World Cup final rematch. Germany and Argentina do battle. I'm Keeghann Sinanan, your guide for all the action.
Argentina (4-3-3): Romero; Zabaleta, Fernández, Demichelis, Rojo; Pérez, Mascherano, Biglia; Lamela, Di Maria, Aguero.
A very British flavour to the Argentine XI. No, it's not hopelessly bland. Their entire back four and front three ply their trade in the Premier League. New summer EPL additions like Federico Fernandez of Swansea City and the Manchester United pair of Marcos Rojo and Angel Di Maria all start. Midfield general Javier Mascherano also used to be on the books at Liverpool.
A groin injury has prevented Lionel Messi from reuniting with former Barcelona boss Tata Martino on the international stage. Martino has taken over as la Albiceleste coach since Alejandro Sabella left the post at the end of the World Cup.
Erik Lamela is therefore handed a spot in the front three instead. The Tottenham man has seemingly turned over a new leaf this season with improved form in his last few games, coming after an impressive pre-season.
Germany are without a host of names that took part at the Maracana just under two months back. Philipp Lahm, Miroslav Klose and Per Mertesacker all hanging up their international boots. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Shkodran Mustafi have also not been ruled fit enough to play any part tonight.
Die Nationalmannschaft welcome back Marco Reus to their XI, who missed the World Cup through injury. Julian Draxler gets a chance to impress with Mesut Ozil sitting out the match as a precaution.
Also involved is Mario Gomez, the Fiorentina striker who will surely want to put a year of injury hell behind him. He did not travel to Brazil after missing most of the 2013-14 domestic and European season.
It's the quickest renewal of hostilities for these two sides, though they have bigger things in mind. Germany will use this match as a warm up ahead of their opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland. Argentina, meanwhile, will want to gel under Martino as they prepare for next year's Copa America.
Some pre-match formalities to go through as some departing heroes from the German national team get their due from the fans. The likes of Mertesacker and Klose walk out to a guard of honour. What a send off, and this really signals a changing of the Germany guard.
Germany taste defeat for the first time in 19 games. Their run of 13 wins and 5 draws end. The World champs are well beaten on their own patch in a bittersweet World Cup final rematch victory for Argentina.
Di Maria stole the show quite handily, with three assists and a goal in Dusseldorf. He tormented the German defence time and time again, showing exactly why Man Utd shelled out big bucks for his signature.
Germany showed a lot of promise on the counter, but bad finishing and worse defending did them in on the night. They will want to take the good points from this one ahead of their first Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland on Sunday.
