Five minutes of added time here at Goodison. I think it's fair to say that that the Ramires goal well and truly killed the game off. Diego Costa will be happy to add to his tally though!
90'
Diego Costa has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by M. Obi.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLL FOR CHELSEA!! MOURINHO'S MEN KILL THE GAME OFF! Besic, who has literally been on the park five seconds, attempts a terrible flick back to his defence which Diego Costa intercepts. The former Atletico man bursts forward and calmly takes the ball past Distin and Howard before slotting home! Six-three!
89'
D. Drogba enters the game and replaces Cesc Fàbregas.
M. Bešić enters the game and replaces R. Lukaku.
87'
Jose Mourinho makes his third and final change of the match as he introduces Didier Drogba in place of Fabregas. It looks like the Portuguese coach is just looking to add some height inside the box as he prepares for a barrage of Everton crosses.
85'
The hosts get a free kick down the right-hand side and have the opportunity to get some decent service into the box. The cross from Mirallas is just too shallow once again though, and Terry clears from the front post area.
83'
Filipe Luís enters the game and replaces E. Hazard.
Well we've actually had six minutes without a goal! What's going on here?! If Everton are going to get anything out of this you reckon they need to register a fourth pretty quickly, but Mourinho has brought on Filipe Luis and John Obi Mikel just to tighten things up.
81'
Cesc Fàbregas gets yellow.
What a sensational save by Courtois!!! The Chelsea keeper initially gives the ball away cheaply but makes up for it massively as he somehow tips Mirallas' clever strike on to the post! Very nearly 5-4!
79'
The Everton crowd have been through such a rollercoaster of emotions here. Twice within the past ten minutes they've had Goodison Park bouncing only to have the wind took out their sales by two quickfire Chelsea responses!
77'
Ramires has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by N. Matić.
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL FOR CHELSEA!!! THIS IS MADNESS AT GOODISON PARK!!! Chelsea enjoy a period of possession around the Everton box before Matic pokes the ball through to Ramires who stabs a strike into the far corner past Howard! FIVE-THREE! I'm running out of superlatives for this!
76'
S. Eto'o has scored a goal for Everton! Assist by L. Baines.
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLL FOR EVERTON!!! WHAT A GAME THIS IS!! Baines clips a free kick to the front post and Eto'o heads into the corner for his first goal for the Toffees! Not a bad way to introduce yourself! The hosts once again fight back! Four-three!
Minute
Description
75'
M. Obi enters the game and replaces Willian.
74'
N. Matić has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by Ramires.
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLL FOR CHELSEA!!! Mourinho's men regain their two-goal lead! Matic drifts forward unopposed and decides to have a crack from 25 yards. A deflection wrong-foots Howard and the strikes cannons in off the post! Four-two! The resilience of this team is fantastic!
71'
Roberto Martinez reacts almost immediately to that second Everton goal as he introduces Samuel Eto'o for his debut. The Cameroonian will come on to replace McGeady, who was instrumental in the build up to the goal a few moments ago.
70'
S. Eto'o enters the game and replaces A. McGeady.
69'
T. Howard gets yellow.
S. Naismith has scored a goal for Everton! Assist by A. McGeady.
GOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLL FOR EVERTON! THE HOSTS STRIKE BACK IMMEDIATELY!! McGeady goes on a terrific run through the middle before releasing Naismith into the box, who terrifically finishes into the corner with the outside of his foot! Three-two! What a game!
67'
S. Coleman is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLL TO CHELSEA!!! Is that the goal to clinch this victory?! Hazard bursts past McCarthy down the left-hand side and reverses a cross into the box which comes off the boot of Coleman before nestling in the corner! That's an OG! Terribly unfortunate for Everton, but Chelsea won't care! Three-one!
In the aftermath of the goal it looks like Howard was issued a booking for grabbing the cuff of Azpilicueta. The Evertonians just need to keep their heads here!
65'
The next goal in this match is just so crucial. Everton's play arguably deserves it, but Chelsea are just so clinical at times.
64'
Ramires gets yellow.
63'
What a superb challenge from Cahill! Lukaku looks poised to burst beyond the Chelsea defence and run through on goal but at the last minute the England international claws the ball away from the feet of his former team-mate! Great defending.
61'
Everton have definitely controlled the match in the second half but as I mentioned before, the counterattacking threat that Chelsea pose through Hazard, Willian, and Costa is massive. The hosts playing a high line too...
59'
Everton have the opportunity to pile massive pressure on the Chelsea defence through to consecutive corner kicks, but both are wasted by Mirallas, whose crosses are far too shallow to the front post.
57'
We see the better side of Costa next as he bullies Jagielka off the ball before threading a pass to Ivanovic, who opts to have a first time shot. This proves to be ill advised as his attempt flashes well wide of the post.
56'
Diego Costa gets yellow.
55'
Costa rather predictably goes into the book after getting himself involved in a scuffle with James McCarthy. He's looking a bit wound up at the moment, so he'll need to calm down before we see the famous Costa red mist!
53'
Hazard collects the ball inside the box and feigns right and then left before cutely squeezing a pass to Costa, who looks to catch Howard out at his front post with a quick strike, but the Everton keeper once again has his wits about him to make the stop.
51'
SAAAAAAAVE BY HOWARD! Fabregas pokes a pass through to Diego Costa and the Spain international finds himself one-on-one with the Everton keeper, who stands tall and remains big to turn the eventual strike round the post!
49'
Everton look to have maintained the ascendancy they built up towards the end of the first half. Diego Costa is isolated for the moment as the hosts push forward for an equaliser. The Blues are of course dangerous on the counterattack though.
47'
Blazed over by Lukaku. Naismith holds the ball up well and shifts a neat pass out wide to Mirallas, who sets up his team-mate on the edge of the box, but the eventual shot goes at least 10 feet over the bar. A pretty horrible attempt from the Belgian.
46'
The second half is under way in Merseyside!
45' +2
Two minutes added on here. Everton look buoyed after clawing a goal back so they will be looking for another before the break? Chelsea want half time now!
45'
Kevin Mirallas has scored a goal for Everton! Assist by S. Coleman.
GOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL FOR EVERTON!!! The hosts claw a goal back! Coleman gets on the end of a pass down the right and whips a superb cross into the box for Mirallas, who glances a fantastic header into the top corner! Two-one!
43'
Jagielka gets himself in a hell of a mess in the middle of the park which allows Matic to intercept and slide a pass through to Costa. He is one-on-one with Howard but is flagged as offside. It looked like Distin was playing the Chelsea striker onside though! Poor decision!
41'
Lukaku, Mirallas, and Naismith look to link up on the edge of the box but the last pass from the former Rangers man just misses its mark slightly which allows Terry to make the interception. A promising move, but the end product wasn't there for Everton.
39'
Naismith intercepts the ball from Fabregas and the tackles goes all the way through the defence for Lukaku to latch on to, but the Belgian is lazy in his attempts to get onside, which leaves the decision easy for the linesman.
37'
Chelsea's distribution hasn't really been up to scratch in the last few minutes. They had a superb opportunity with their two goal lead to shut out this match early doors, but they've sat back slightly and allowed Everton to gain confidence on the ball. The home side still searching for an opening goal, though.
35'
Coleman stretches his legs down the right-hand side and passes to McGeady. The Ireland international displays a neat bit of trickery to find a yard and dink a cross into the box, but Courtois commandingly comes off his line to make the claim.
33'
Mirallaaaas! Great attempt! Some lovely interplay on the edge of the box sees the Belgian whip a cracking strike towards the top corner, but Courtois displays excellent anticipation by taking a few steps to the side and making the comfortable catch. He really is a man-mountain in between the sticks.
31'
Everton have arguably been the better side since going two goals down, but their shoddy opening has cost them dearly so far. If they can get a goal before half time, we are in for quite a second half. Chelsea looking pretty solid at the moment though.
29'
Fabregaaaaaaaas! That was inches wide! The Spaniard drifts past a couple of challenges on the edge of the box before having a strike. It takes a wicked deflection off Distin and almost nestles in the corner, but instead goes closely wide!
27'
McGeady finds space on the edge of the box and tries his luck with a long range attempt. He doesn't catch the strike particularly sweetly, but it cannons off the foot of Ivanovic to go out for a corner kick. The hosts are getting plenty of set-pieces, but just need to make them a bit more effective.
25'
Lukaku receives the ball to feet 25 yards out and threads a pass in between the defenders for the onrushing Coleman, but this time Hazard is vigilant in his defending and sees the ball out for a corner. That will certainly please Mourinho.
24'
Fabregas clips the set-piece to the back post but it is well over hit and Howard claims it out of the air. Baines goes down after an aerial clash with Cahill, but looks to be okay.
23'
Barry is harshly penalised by the ref after going to ground in a challenge with Willian. The former Man City midfielder clearly got the ball on that one, but the ref deems the tackle as too aggressive, and the visitors get the free kick around 30 yards out.
21'
Not surprisingly, Everton are trying to channel their play down the right-hand side so Coleman can get a fresh run at the Chelsea defence. Hazard failing to track the run of the full back at the moment.
19'
Great play by Coleman! The Irishman drifts past the challenges of Hazard and Fabregas before reversing the ball back into the danger area. Naismith latches on to the pass but his directed shot is cleared from the six-yard box!
17'
Naismiiiiith! Unlucky! The Scot turns sharply on the edge of the box and lashes a left-footed strike towards the bottom corner, but it was always drifting away and eventually goes wide. Courtois had it covered, but it was a decent attempt.
15'
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLL FOR EVERTON! WAIT! NO! OFFSIDE! Lukaku outjumps Terry inside the box and bullets a header off the crossbar! Distin slides in the rebound but he is correctly ruled as offside! The Toffees nearly claw a goal back! Encouraging!
13'
The hosts are just beginning to find their feet here as they look to atone for their horrible start. They just need to get the ball in to Lukaku higher up the park, as the Belgian is coming far too deep to claim possession.
11'
Azpilicueta rushes out from defence to steal the ball from the feet of Lukaku. The Spaniard then fizzes a pass out wide to Costa who looks to burst down the wing. He fails to get the better of Coleman, though, and opts to pass inside to Fabregas. The former Barca man has a crack at goal, but Distin blocks.
9'
Well we can finally take a breath folks after that startling opening to the match. Two goals and a potential sending off! Everton just have not settled, and Chelsea have grown in confidence due to their electric start.
7'
Tim Howard you are one lucky, lucky man! The Everton goalkeeper rushes off his line and claims the ball out of the air a yard outside of the box! How has the linesman not seen that one? That's a potential sending off!
5'
It looks like Jagielka was at least partly at fault for both the goals. He firstly played Diego Costa onside after failing to spot the run and then did the same with Ivanovic. Not the best start to say the least for the England international!
4'
I already mentioned this being a horror start for Everton, and they've only conceded again! They need to sort themselves out, and very, very, quickly!
3'
B. Ivanović has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by Ramires.
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLL FOR CHELSEA!! TWO IN TWO MINUTES!! Some lacklustre defending at the back from Everton sees Ramires poke the ball through to the unmarked Ivanovic, who lashes a strike under Howard! What a start to this game! Incredible stuff!
2'
An absolute horror start for Everton here! They didn't match the run of Fabregas or Diego Costa and they've paid massively!
1'
Diego Costa has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by Cesc Fàbregas.
WE ARE UNDER WAY AT GOODISON PARK!
GOOOOOOOAAAAALLLLL FOR CHELSEAAAA!!! Fabregas collects the ball in midfield and slides a precision pass in behind the defence for Diego Costa, who squeezes a strike past Howard! What a start for the visitors! One-nil!
Good evening folks, welcome to LIVE coverage of the Barclays Premier League clash between Everton and Chelsea from Goodison Park!
I'm Martin Macdonald, and I'll be taking you through the action!
Jose Mourinho's men have made an excellent start to the campaign and find themselves with a 100% record at the top of the table after securing a 3-1 victory over Burnley and a narrow 2-0 win over Leicester. New signings Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, and Filipe Luis look to have integrated themselves into the squad seamlessly as the Portuguese boss looks to reclaim the Premier League title.
However, Everton may prove to be a much bigger test for the new-look Chelsea team than newly promoted Burnley and Leicester. The last time Goodison Park hosted Mourinho's men was last season, when a solitary strike from Steven Naismith sealed a 1-0 win for the Toffees.
Interestingly, the hosts have won four of the last five league meetings between the sides in Merseyside.
The biggest news today is that Diego Costa is indeed fit to start after picking up a slight hamstring injury during the week. Some stories coming out of Stamford Bridge suggested the Spain international may be out for upwards of six weeks, but these reports have indeed been proved false as he starts up top for Chelsea tonight.
However, Mourinho has indeed made two changes from the previous match. The Brazilian duo of Willian and Ramires come in for their compatriot Oscar, and Andre Schurrle.
Everton have been boosted by Romelu Lukaku's inclusion tonight despite the Belgian limping out of last week's draw against Arsenal. The former Chelsea striker will be eager to impress against his old employers after his £28 million move from Stamford Bridge in the Summer.
There is one forced change for Roberto Martinez, however. Aiden McGeady comes in for the injured Steven Pienaar.
The teams have taken to the field now and we are a few moments from kick off!
Half time in Goodison Park. Chelsea made a blistering start to the match and found themselves two goals up with just three minutes on the clock thanks to strikes from Diego Costa and Branislav Ivanovic. Mourinho's men were guilty of sitting back though and gave Everton a route back into the match in the latter stages of the half when Mirallas rose high inside the box to score an excellent header. A terrific game, and an interesting second half in store!
Full time in Goodison Park. A truly mesmerising clash between Everton and Chelsea ends 6-3 to Jose Mourinho's men. The visitors made a superb start in which they went two up within the first three minutes, but a goal back from Kevin Mirallas before signalled a potential comeback for the hosts. The second half rained goals as Chelsea added four more to their tally to Everton's one. Diego Costa added a couple more to his tally and looks to have took the the Premier League like a fish to water. I'm Martin Macdonald, and it's been an extreme pleasure bringing you the action. See you next time!
