C. Peña has scored a goal for Mexico! Assist by A. Escoboza.
Peña easily scores, finishing off a move keyed by Sinha with a right-footed effort. Deserved for him. He's been excellent.
83'
R. Fallon has scored a goal for New Zealand! Assist by K. Barbarouses.
It's another for New Zealand! Brockie did an excellent job to keep the ball in play and he puts a cross over to an unmarked Fallon who hits it true.
80'
Penalty goal scored by C. James for New Zealand!
It was a clear penalty, and that has to feel good for James and the All Whites. Herrera looks on stoically. The aggregate score is now 8-2.
It's James standing over this one instead of Brockie. He puts it past Muñoz and celebrates as though he's put his team up.
79'
Another penalty for New Zealand. Let's see how this one goes.
78'
Many Mexico fans surely staying up just to see how Piojo celebrates.
77'
Sinha is on the pitch and gets the ball in the center. He moves to Aguilar who gives it away, but New Zealand is unable to capitalize.
76'
Sinha enters the game and replaces O. Peralta.
Minute
Description
75'
The All Whites appeal for handball against Aguilar. I think it was his chest.
74'
Yet another New Zealand shot can't get off the ground and is easily saved by Muñoz. Either the Mexican defending is so tight the All Whites can't get a sight or they're having trouble shooting. Or some combination. Probably that one. The combination.
73'
C. Henderson enters the game and replaces M. Rojas.
Rojas makes way for New Zealand and the All Whites have used all three substitutions.
71'
Corner for the All Whites and Muñoz is there again to punch it away sternly.
Four on two for Mexico and New Zealand escapes unscathed! A defender went flying through the air to get a leg on Aguilar's effort there.
68'
A. De Nigris enters the game and replaces R. Jiménez.
Tough day for Jimenez who went close twice but couldn't find the back of the net either time. Don't think he'll mind too much.
67'
You don't think of New Zealand as a soccer nation (it isn't, really), but these fans are still into this game despite it being all but over before it even started and even closer to being over once Mexico put three past in the first half.
66'
The All Whites pushing here to try to find a goal with the crowd buzzing and hoping to have something to yell about.
64'
Probably about 30 minutes from now, we'll tell you Mexico has qualified for the 2014 World Cup.
63'
Things have settled down considerably with Mexico plenty content to sit back, defend and counter, and New Zealand unable to do anything to unlock El Tri.
59'
Layun puts one in with his right foot. It's cleared only as far as Medina who tries to hit it on the half-volley but puts it into the stands.
58'
A. Escoboza enters the game and replaces L. Montes.
Corner for New Zealand. Maza heads it away. The All Whites work it back in but Tommy Smith is whistled for leading with his elbow much to his displeasure.
55'
Another slow roller hit toward Muñoz who stops it, fumbles it and plays it out again.
54'
R. Fallon enters the game and replaces S. Smeltz.
53'
Might as well make a few changes if you're New Zealand, right? I mean, this isn't working.
52'
Moises Muñoz is just chilling back there. He's so relaxed he looks like he's playing in a beer league match. Comes to snag a cross and does so no problem.
50'
L. Fenton enters the game and replaces B. Tuiloma.
Bill Tuiloma off after seeming to take a knock. It wasn't a very good day for him.
47'
The second half starts with some sustained possession for New Zealand and Brockie gets in and has an edge on Muñoz but tries to go over his head and the keeper snatches it out of the air.
45'
Glen Moss makes yet another save as Jimenez is forced to go wide and cuts back for Paul Aguilar. The corner goes to the top of the box and is kind of cleared. We'll say it was cleared just because New Zealand could use something at this point.
There's an offside call 11 seconds into stoppage time, which some have interpreted as the referee mercifuly whistling for stoppage time. Instead he blows after the full minute.
43'
Credit to the Kiwi fans who have shown up in numbers despite pretty long odds and just had a chance to cheer a good tackle by Durante.
42'
Mexico gallop forward and Miguel Layun decides to take it himself instead of playing provider like usual. The ball bounces harmlessly past Moss' far post.
41'
Honestly that penalty save just feels like the cap of what has been an embarassing half from New Zealand. It's not over either.
39'
M. Muñoz gets yellow.
Penalty saved by M. Muñoz!
Penalty whistled on Muñoz. It's probably not too relevent but he hit the ball then took out the player. He's saved the penalty! New Zealand can't buy a break.
37'
Jimenez breaks away and has the keeper beat. Peña sprung it again beautifully. It's saved off the line by Tommy Smith, but the captain has hit the post and hurt himself in the process. Looks like he'll be OK to continue.
35'
K. Barbarouses gets yellow.
New Zealand has to keep its head here and go out with honor. The scoreline will be embarassing enough. Nothing horrible in that yellow, but something to keep an eye on.
33'
O. Peralta has scored a goal for Mexico! Assist by C. Peña.
Why not? Peña has been tremendous this match and he squares for who else? Oribe Peralta who has a hat trick...in the 33rd minute.
29'
O. Peralta has scored a goal for Mexico! Assist by M. Layún.
Peralta must've heard me because he just slotted a Miguel Layun pass into the net no problem. Nice move, nice goal.
27'
As fantastic as Peralta has been recently - and he has been fantastic - that wasn't his best moment. He had a chance to get in behind the All Whites' back line but tripped over himself and handled the ball. Oof.
25'
Glen Moss makes another save at the other end. He's the only reason the All Whites aren't in a larger hole here in the first 30 minutes of this second leg.
24'
Save Muñoz. The All White built up after Mexico's appeal for a foul was denied. It ended with the keeper coming a bit early and nearly getting beat but he collected in the end.
22'
Moss was left to dry again by his defenders and came up with a remarkable save on Jimenez.
21'
Marquez gets a head to the ensuing free kick but it goes wide of Moss' goal, surely to the relief of the battered keeper.
20'
S. Smeltz gets yellow.
Another cross from Layun goes errant. New Zealand clears but then Shane Smeltz fouls Juan Carlos Medina as the players both go for the same ball and is issued a yellow card.
19'
Munoz comes and uses his hands this time as Tuiloma pops up again and tries to put in a cross. It doesn't pose a problem for the America keeper.
17'
Bill Tuiloma knocks in a worm killer from distance. Munoz doesn't even dignify that by picking it up with his hands, electing to keep the ball at his feet before moving it back into play for El Tri.
16'
Foul in the Mexico area goes against Tommy Smith, though, and Mexico has a free kick and still a 6-1 lead in the tie.
14'
O. Peralta has scored a goal for Mexico! Assist by C. Peña.
The slim hopes New Zealand had are dashed now as Oribe Peralta finishes off a move started by Carlos Peña by chipping over the keeper for the opening goal.
12'
The All Whites counter off of the set piece, getting forward quickly, but despite Marco Rojas' strong effort, El Tri puts a stop to it.
Rojas is an excellent player who didn't start in the first leg because of Ricki Herbert's defensive game plan. Both the decision to sit Rojas and to try to play defensively appear to have been misguided.
11'
Another corner. Montes sends this one back post to Maza who puts a strong header in on Moss, but the keeper saves.
10'
New Zealand has an attack building it runs into Maza Rodriguez and stops there. Decent first 10 minutes of play.
9'
Half chance for Raul Jiménez after Maza gets low to head a corner. It goes high over the bar.
7'
One of the TV broadcast's keys to the game is for New Zealand to score goals. Goal agrees that scoring goals will indeed be important for the All Whites, which trail 5-1 on aggregate.
5'
Miguel Layun had a pretty good first leg, but his debut cross of the day was a poor one, heading straight into the arms of Glen Moss.
4'
Mexico is playing with house money, up 5-1 on aggregate, but it still won't want to have anybody sent off or do anything to extend the All Whites a lifeline.
3'
There's an early yellow card for Luis Montes for a foul on Bill Tuiloma
2'
L. Montes gets yellow.

We're underway with New Zealand wearing its signature all white kits and Mexico sporting a green shirt with red shirts and socks. That's a...striking look to say the least.
Good morning or evening to you, depending on where you're joining us from! I'm Jon Arnold, and I'll be providing the live call for the second leg of this World Cup playoff.
It looks like a lovely evening in Wellington, where it's currently 7 p.m. Mexico lines up with the same XI that got the job done in the first leg.
It's not official yet, but Mexico is going to the World Cup. The first half was exactly what it needed and more. Peralta's hat trick has El Tri up 3-0, and they're in no danger.
Pizza is the midnight snack of choice here at Goal HQ.
Meanwhile, Oribe Peralta continues snacking on opposing defending. In addition to his first half hat trick, he's scored in his previous five matches with Mexico and our colleague in Mexico, Eric Gomez, says Peralta has 10 goals in nine matches with Mexico during this calendar year.
Peralta is the obvious choice for Man of the Half, but Carlos Peña has done an excellent job creating.
For New Zealand, goalkeeper Glen Moss has been much better than he was in the first leg. If only the same could be said of his defenders.
That'll do it. Mexico has its celebratory shirts on and is in the World Cup. Herrera seems remarkably calm as he goes to shake hands with the officials.
Oribe Peralta is the hat trick hero in the victory but there were good performances all over the field tonight.
