Hello and welcome to tonight's play-by-play text commentary of Everton's Premier League clash against Newcastle. Roberto Martinez's eighth-placed Toffees will be favourites for this one at Goodison, with the Magpies just three points above the relegation zone after five games.
There's plenty to discuss ahead of this one, but for now let's bring you the team news ...
Now, here's a statistic for you: only one team has beaten Everton at Goodison Park in 2013 - Wigan. Their manager at the time? Current Toffees boss Roberto Martinez. Spooky, eh?
Now, Everton midfielder Gareth Barry will join the 500 club this evening with the England international set to become the 10th player to reach a half-millennia of Premier League appearances. A little teaser - can you name the other nine?
Didn't get them? Google it. Meanwhile, we're just under five minutes away from kick-off on Merseyside, with Everton looking to jump into the top four with a win. Will they do it? We're about to find out ...
There goes the half-time whistle, with Everton leading 3-0 and in total control. Lukaku opened the scoring very early on, after great work from Mirallas on the right, before the striker turned provider as he set-up Barkley for the Toffees second. Then, after some abysmal Newcastle defending, the Chelsea loanee pounced to bag their third. It's all too easy for the hosts, really, with Pardew's men with a lot of work to do.
