Liverpool get the action underway!
Welcome to LIVE! text commentary for this Premier League fixture between Swansea City and Liverpool. My name is Tom Etherington (@tom_etherington) and I'll be guiding you through all the action at the Liberty Stadium this evening.
Brendan Rodgers returns to his former club looking to extend Liverpool's 100 per cent record this season. The Anfield club have recorded three successive 1-0 wins and can return to the top of the table with at least one point this evening.
Daniel Sturridge has scored all three of Liverpool's goals so far this term but is a doubt to feature this evening due to a thigh injury, while Joe Allen (hamstring) and Kolo Toure (groin) could also miss out. New signings Mamadou Sakho, Tiago Ilori and Victor Moses may feature for the visitors.
Meanwhile, Michael Laudrup's men have faced a tough start, with clashes against Manchester United and Tottenham leaving them with nothing to show for their efforts. However, the Swans managed to pick up their first points of the new season with a 2-0 win at West Brom prior to the international break.
Laudrup has a handful of injury concerns with Jonjo Shelvey (thigh) a doubt to face his former club and winger Nathan Dyer (hamstring) facing a late fitness test. Neil Taylor will definitely miss out due to a thigh injury.
The teams are in so let's take a look at those starting line-ups…
LIVERPOOL SUBS: Jones, Kelly, Toure, Alberto, Aspas, Sterling, Ibe.
So, Laudrup brings two new faces into his starting XI after their last outing, with central midfielder Leon Britton replacing the injured Jose Canas, while fit-again Nathan Dyer starts out wide in place of Pablo Hernandez.
Rodgers has made three changes from the side which earned a narrow win against Manchester United a fortnight ago. New recruits Moses and Sakho, both signed on transfer deadline day, make their Reds debuts.
Steven Gerrard is set to lead Liverpool out as captain for the 400th time in his career and three points would secure the club's 400th win in their Premier League history.
Let me know your pre-match thoughts and predictions on Twitter via @tom_etherington. I'm personally looking forward to seeing what Victor Moses has to offer this evening and I think Liverpool are going to need to score more than one goal to claim another three points here. But I'm not sure if they can so I am going to predict a 1-1 draw.
Kick off is just moments away.
The teams are making their way out of the Liberty Stadium tunnel and onto the pitch.
Warm welcome from the home fans for former Swansea boss Rodgers.
Liverpool lead at the break after another goal from Daniel Sturridge and a debut strike by Victor Moses. It has been a night to forget so far for former Reds midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who gave Swansea the lead inside two minutes but cost his side two goals with two poor passes.
What did you make of that first half? Which players stood out for you? Let me know on Twitter via @tom_etherington.
The two teams are back out for the second half. Jonjo Shelvey does not look like a happy man.
Some of your views on Twitter...@govbussy: "Victor Moses is the man. Scoring a debut goal is a great achievement for a footballer." @AdiEmTheVamp: "Shelvey gave us one reason why we bought him & then two reasons for selling him. #LFC" @javier_muller: "Michu needs to be more dangerous, but this game will end in a draw."
FULL TIME
Swansea 2-2 Liverpool. The visitors go top and Swansea move out of the bottom three after a very entertaining draw at the Liberty Stadium. Jonjo Shelvey had a hand in all four goals on the night and his side could have gone on to win. Both managers will be happy with the result though.
Thanks for joining this LIVE! text commentary with me, Tom Etherington (tom_etherington). Goodbye.
