Ward-Prowse collects it in the box under huge pressure from Razvan Rat, but manages to work it out to Calum Chambers, whose cross deflects out to Wanyama, and the midfielder tries a shot from 25 yards with his left which he slices wide.

What a miss! Jarvis does really well to get the ball under control on the right-hand side of the area before pulling it back towards James Collins, who has plenty of space to pick his spot but blasts it high into the stands. Best chance of the match for the visitors.
83'
The visitors have a chance of their own as they win a corner but both Collins and Reid go for it and Southampton clear.

Description
81'
Unfortunately for them it's the same result as Ward-Prowse puts it in the same area but Lovren can't reach it to keep the ball in play.
80'
Ten minutes left at St Mary's. According to Sky Sports there has only been one previous goalless draw between these two. Will we see a second? Southampton have another free kick in the same place...

James Ward-Prowse whips in the set piece with a well-placed ball and Fonte charges to meet it at the far post, but can't direct his effort towards the goal and it goes behind.
78'

75'
Diame pops up on the left wing for the visitors and has a chance to cross, but it's way too hard and goes out for a throw. Poor crossing has been the theme of the afternoon, sadly.

Another save! Rodriguez runs thorugh the middle before rolling it into the path of Lambert on the left, and the striker opens up to curl a superb effort towards the far corner, forcing another stunning stop from Jaaskelainen.
70'
J. O'Brien gets yellow.
Ouch! O'Brien slides in hard on Lallana right on the sideline and there's a fair amount of pushing and shoving between most of the players. The referee calms things down before showing the Hammers defender a yellow card.
69'
Jaaskelainen fires it forward and Lovren completely fluffs his lines, putting his header straight out for a throw and giving West Ham the chance to form an attack.
68'
Ricardo Vaz Tê enters the game and replaces M. Maïga.
67'
Fantastic save! Jaaskelainen keeps things level as Rodriguez crosses from the right for Schneiderlin, who volleys with superb technique and it looks bound for the corner before the Hammers shot-stopper dives superbly to turn it around the post.

V. Wanyama gets yellow.
Wanyama is booked for a clumsy challenge on halfway and Collins launches another high ball forward, which Nolan is very close to reaching but it goes back into Saints' possession.

49'
Off the woodwork! Wanyama tests Jaaskelainen as he collects a bouncing ball and fires a volley from 25 yards, which the goalkeeper tips over. From the corner Lambert meets the ball at the near post and powers a header against the woodwork.

47'
Demel charges down the right-hand side but Osvaldo gets back to fulfil defensive duties and team up with Shaw to win a goal kick. Noble makes a good run forward along the left flank but is taken down by Schneiderlin as he cuts inside, and West Ham have a free kick.
46'
And we're back up and running as West Ham get the second half underway. Incredibly, though, Southampton only have ten men as Victor Wanyama turns up late! Astonishing.
45' +2

40'
Chance! Lambert and Lallana try to bring down a long clearance from Boruc, but neither can get it under control and Reid comes across to blast a clearance away. The Hammers push forward and it eventually falls to Morrison 25 yards out, and the youngster swings a delightful effort just over the bar.

35'
We're back underway through a Jaaskelainen goal kick and Diame rejoins the action, albeit with a slight limp.
34'
The visitors are furious as Diame goes down injured after a strong challenge from Schneiderlin but the hosts play on. Replays show the midfielder may be lucky to get away with that, as it looked two-footed. Meanwhile, Diame is still down receiving treatment.
32'
Rodriguez bursts forward and exchanges passes with Osvaldo, before the striker produces a stunning trick pass through the defence looking for Lallana, but the skipper doesn't read it and West Ham gain possession.
30'
Both Fonte and Lambert go up for the header six yards out, but the referee blows his whistle for a foul. West Ham are through at the other end as Morrison breaks free but is denied in a one-on-one by Boruc, although the offside flag is already up and Saints survive.
29'
M. Diamé gets yellow.
Jose Fonte reads a pass perfectly to intercept and plays it forward to Lallana, who is tripped by Diame and the West Ham man goes into the book. It's played forward to Osvaldo who works hard to win a corner for the hosts.
27'
Demel fires a long throw over the defence and Maiga chases it, but goes down clutching his face after Dejan Lovren holds the striker off to win the ball. It seemed fairly innocuous and play goes on.
25'
The visitors can't make use of the set piece, though, as Jarvis' ball is cleared and a floated pass looking for the winger goes straight out of play.
24'
Jarvis tries to break free from Clyne deep inside the Southampton half but the defender recovers well to challenge the winger before he can cross and concede a corner.
23'
Chance! Collins slips while trying to retrieve the ball and Lambert breaks forward, setting Rodriguez away through the middle. The ball comes back to the striker on the edge of the box and he drives a low effort towards goal, forcing Jaaskelainen to make a stop low to his right.
22'
Clyne bursts past O'Brien on the right flank and whips a cross in looking for Lambert at the far post, but Demel does well to head away.
20'
Nolan floats a good pass wide for Diame, who lays off for Guy Demel, but the full-back's cross is way too hard and goes out the other side for a throw. West Ham win it back quickly, though, and Diame has space in midfield to hammer a 35-yarder just high and wide of the top left-hand corner.
18'
Oof, that's a high challenge by Schneiderlin on Diame as he goes for a 50-50 ball, but he escapes punishment and West Ham can fire another long ball forward.
17'
Morgan Schneiderlin sloppily gives it away in midfield and West Ham look to move forward. Jarvis and O'Brien link up on the left but the defender can't slot a second pass through the defence and Southampton have the ball once more.
15'
Morrison goes in hard on Lambert but only gets a talking-to from the referee. Lallana takes a quick free kick to send Shaw down the left channel, and he pulls the ball back looking for Osvaldo but Diame makes a defensive clearance.
14'
Osvaldo causes problems for Collins at the back, putting the defender under pressure, but Reid comes across to clear the danger.
13'
The hosts are in possession now, passing it along the back, just trying to reorganise themselves before pressing forward.
12'
Definitely the best chance of the match so far, but it definitely came against the run of play. Southampton are starting to grow into the match, though.
11'
What a save! Rodriguez picks it up on the left-hand side and darts into the West Ham area before pulling it back to the penalty spot for Dani Osvaldo, who shoots first time but is denied by Jussi Jaaskelainen with a superb low stop to divert it behind.
9'
Kevin Nolan cuts the ball out in midfield and sets Jarvis free on the left once more, but again his cross isn't up to scratch and this time it goes straight to Boruc.

We're underway at St Mary's as Southampton get the game started.
Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE coverage of the Premier League clash between Southampton and West Ham at St Mary's Stadium. It's already been an action-packed weekend in the top-flight, and both sides will be desperate for the points today after defeats to Norwich and Stoke respectively last weekend.
The teams have been announced, so let's take a look, starting with Mauricio Pochettino's men...
SOUTHAMPTON: Boruc; Clyne, Lovren, Fonte, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Rodriguez, Wanyama, Lallana; Osvaldo, Lambert. // Subs: K Davis, S Davis, Ramirez, James Ward-Prowse, Do Prado, Chambers, Hooiveld.
So, that means Rickie Lambert makes his 200th league appearance for Saints this afternoon. Luke Shaw, Nathaniel Clyne and Jay Rodriguez all come back into the side, with Danny Fox (ankle) missing out, while James Ward-Prowse and Calum Chambers drop to the bench.
For West Ham, Ravel Morrison earns his first Premier League start at the expense of Stewart Downing, and Andy Carroll is sidelined after picking up a foot injury on his return from an achilles problem.
STAT ATTACK: Here are some interesting numbers from Ewan Roberts at St Mary's this afternoon. Only Stoke City (27.5) have won more aerial duels per game than West Ham (26.7), while Rickie Lambert had attempted the most headed shots (six) prior to this weekend's fixtures. Meanwhile, Mark Noble has 3 goals in last 3 games against Southampton.
West Ham have only conceded one goal in three games this season, while Southampton have only scored twoice. It's a miserable, rainy day on the south coast. 0-0 written all over it? Let's hope not.
A quick word from Ewan Roberts at St Mary's, now: "There's plenty of room for improvement in the second half, though Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to record a long overdue second home clean sheet - which looks likely as things stand."
That's HALF-TIME at St Mary's and we go into the break goalless. It's not been the highest-quality affair but both sides have created opportunities, with Jaaskelainen denying Osvaldo in the best chance of the match so far.
It's almost been the tale of the youngsters so far this afternoon. Ravel Morrison has impressed on his first Premier League start, while Luke Shaw has shown plenty of signs of why he has been tipped to be a star of the future.
Just a couple of minutes until the restart, and the weather's still not looking particularly friendly. Will we see a goal in the second half?
That's FULL-TIME at St Mary's and it's finished 0-0 after an inspired goalkeeping performance from Jussi Jaaskelainen kept the visitors in it, and in the end won them a point.
That result sees West Ham sneak into the top half of the table with five points from their first four games, while Southampton are right behind them in 11th place with the same tally.
It was hardly a classic, and Saints will be disappointed to drop points at home in a game that was there for the taking, but West Ham - mainly thanks to their goalkeeper - have managed to keep their third clean sheet of the season.
Well, that's all from a rainy St Mary's this afternoon. Thank you for joining us for our LIVE play-by-play coverage of this Premier League clash. We'll see you soon!
