The free kick comes off the head of David Luiz and Uruguay get the corner kick! The nerves are shredding the Brazilians inside the stadium here!
90' +1
Free kick to Uruguay. Diego Forlan will take the set-piece from the left-hand side. This is to keep his nation in the tournament!
90'
Brazil are just looking to just tighten things up at the back now. Neymar comes off to a fantastic ovation and Dante is his replacement.
88'
Uruguay are showing real signs of frustration here! Walter Gargano goes through Neymar and Brazil get the free kick. Poor from the Brazilian though, as he goes down clutching face his face. Not good professionalism from the Barca man!
86'
Paulinho has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Neymar.
Kris Voakes:"The home crowd are willing their side on with everything right now. While 30 more minutes would provide more value for money, they seemingly can't take this drama. Uruguay have silenced both Brazil's players and supporters like no other side in the tournament so far."
GOOOOAAAAAAL!!! GOOOOOAAAAAL!! GOOOOOAAAAAAL!!!! Neymar crosses in deep to the back post and Paulinho rises high to nod past Muslera! The Uruguayan was in no mans land!!! 2-1 Brazil! It looks like they are going to the final!!!
85'
Marcelo looks to drive down the left-hand side, but is once again thwarted by Cavani, who does well to get back and put the ball behind for a Brazil corner kick.
83'
W. Gargano enters the game and replaces Á. González.
Missed opportunity for Marcelo! Neymar whips in a corner kick and Godin heads away to the edge of the box! The Real Madrid man latches on to the loose ball, but can only manage to balloon his strike waaaaayyy over the bar!!
82'
Oscar Tabarez is just adding some fresh legs to his midfield. Walter Gargano is introduced to the action in place of Alvaro Gonzalez, who looks absolutely knackered.
80'
10 minutes remaining. Is there a hero out there? It's looking more likely to be Brazil, but Uruguay are always dangerous on the counterattack!
78'
CAVANI!!! Inches wide!! The Napoli man cleverly shuffles the ball on to his left foot on the edge of the box and hits a shot at goal. The attempt takes a wicked deflection and looks to be nestling in the bottom corner, but just goes wide of the post!
Minute
Description
77'
Extra time does indeed seem to be on the cards here. In the last few minutes both teams have just toned down the intensity of their pressing and passing. Still plenty of time for someone to grab a winner though.
75'
Marcelo gets yellow.
Kris Voakes: "The introduction of Bernard certainly had the crowd up for a while there, and a goal for Fred from that cross would surely only have made him an even bigger local hero. Right now though there appears an acceptance among some that there may be an extra 30 minutes to come. Fingernails are being bitten around me."
74'
Á. González gets yellow.
73'
Hernanes enters the game and replaces Oscar.
Second change of the match from Luiz Felipe Scolari. Hernanes is the player coming on, and he'll replace Oscar in the position just behind Fred up top.
72'
Speculative effort from Luiz Gustavo. The Bayern man picks up the ball around 25 yards from goal and drills a right-footed strike towards goal. There was plenty of power behind it, but Muslera in the Uruguay goal easily collects.
70'
Nothing short of complete idiocy from Dani Alves! Uruguay were completely under the cosh but Brazil's ascendancy was swiftly halted as the Barcelona man gives away a daft foul on Suarez.
69'
This game is really starting to heat up now!! Brazil are finally looking up for this game, and the crowd can sense it! Can Uruguay weather the storm?!
68'
FRED!!! A GOOD CHANCE GOES BEGGING!! Neymar drifts over to the right and dances inside before curling to the ball to the edge of the box for his compatriot, but the lone striker rifles his attempt over the bar!!!
66'
LUIS SUAREZ!!!! WHAT A SAVE FROM JULIO CESAR!!! The 26-year-old rises above everyone inside the box and bullets a header towards goal, but he is thwarted by the Brazil 'keeper, who somehow gets a fingertip on the attempt!
65'
Fantastic challenge from Cavani!! Marcelo looks to get beyond the big Uruguayan inside the box but the Napoli man comes with an uncharacteristic sliding tackle to cleanly take the ball! The Brazilians in the stands want a penalty, but it was a marvelous challenge!
64'
Bernard enters the game and replaces Hulk.
63'
Hulk is the man coming off, with Bernard slotting in on the right-hand side.
62'
However, the crowd erupt with cheers as they see young Brazilian, Bernard, warming up on the sidelines. The 20-year-old plays for local team, Atletico Mineiro.
60'
Just over half an hour left in this Confederations Cup semi-final. There hasn't been too much to pick between the sides in the last few minutes, but the game has once again took a but of a downward turn.
58'
Not particularly great goalkeeping from Muslera!! Hulk smashes a wicked free kick towards goal and the Galatasaray 'keeper opts to punch the ball! He just manages to clear it, but it was far from convincing!
56'
Kris Voakes: "Normal order has been restored in the technical areas, with Scolari barking out orders from the edge of the dotted line, which he has barley left all game. Meanwhile, Tabarez looks well relaxed perched on the wall at the side of the dugout. I should think he'll be well happy with this second half so far."
54'
Poor pass from Rodriguez!!! Uruguay break forward and the Atletico man looks to slide a ball through the middle for Forlan, but Thiago Silva shows a fantastic turn of pace to run in behind and play the ball back through to his goalkeeper. Good defending but the ball from Rodriguez should have been better.
52'
Penalty shout for Brazil!! Hulk dashes into the box but is outmuscled by Godin who wins the ball with a very strong challenge. The Zenit man goes down looking for a spotkick but the official rightly waves play on!
50'
That wasn't in the script for the Selecao, and who would have guessed it? The man who hasn't kicked his backside this tournament, Edinson Cavani, is the player who grabs the equaliser. How will Brazil respond?
48'
E. Cavani has scored a goal for Uruguay!
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAL FOR URUGUAY!!! AN EARLY EQUALISER!!! Brazil fail miserably to clear the ball out of their own box and it falls kindly to Edinson Cavani, who smashes a left-footed strike into the bottom corner! 1-1. GAME ON!
47'
Sore one for Hulk there! The former Porto man leaves his marker for dead on the halfway line but is unceremoniously hacked down by Maxi Pereira! How is that not a booking ref?!
46'
We are back under way in the Mineirao!
44'
Scolari's half-time team talk will certainly have a different feel to it now. I'm sure Big Phil would have went through their side for their performance in the first half, but that goal from Fred may have got them off the hook slightly.
42'
Kris Voakes: "The crowd had spent much of the last 15 minutes singing Neymar's name, and the superstar number 10 delivered with a line-busting run from Paulinho's excellent ball, and Fred's finish has lifted the roof off the Mineirao."
41'
Fred has scored a goal for Brazil!
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAALLLL FOR BRAZIL!!! Belo Horizonte erupts with cheers!! The ball is chipped over the Uruguay defence and Neymar controls wonderfully on the chest! His shot is saved by Muslera but the ball balls to Fred, who somehow shuffles a strike into the bottom right corner! 1-0!!!
39'
Luiz Gustavo gets yellow.
The latest player to go into the book is Luiz Gustavo, and it's certainly a deserved yellow card! The Bayern Munich man wins the ball but goes through Cristian Rodriguez on the follow through! That looked a sore one!
37'
The crowd gets perked up by that chance for Fred, but a poor corner kick into the box from Neymar puts the bums back into the seats.
36'
Great defending from Diego Godin!!! Marcelo jinks past the two challenges inside the box and flashes a cross to the back post! Fred looks poised to score but the Atletico man comes in with a super last-ditch challenge to clear the ball out for a corner!
34'
Neymar stretches his legs down the left-hand side and looks to use his trickery to dance his way into the area, but the most he can muster up is a corner kick out of Gonzalez.
32'
There's been a distinct lack of goalmouth action so far. The attacking lines of both sides have not really got into the match, with the exception of Forlan, who has looked dangerous.
30'
FORLAN!!!! That was no far away!! The Uruguayan picks up the ball on the edge of the box and expertly swivels before unleashing a thunderbolt of a strike towards the top corner! Julio Cesar scrambled across but he breathes a sigh of relief as the attempt goes just over!
28'
The home crowd did not like that one! They knew that was their best chance of the match so far!
27'
HUUULKKKK!!!! BRAZIL SHOULD BE ONE UP!!! The Zenit man exchanges a superb one-two with Neymar inside the box but balloons his resulting strike way over the bar!!
25'
After Brazil's resurgence after the penalty save, we are back to the quiet atmosphere of the opening. Fernando Muslera has not had a save to make in the Uruguay goal.
23'
Very nearly a dodgy moment for Julio Cesar!! The QPR 'keeper comes off his line to clear the ball the edge of the box with a punch, but Rodriguez loops a header towards goal! Luckily for the hosts, it goes just over the bar!
21'
E. Cavani gets yellow.
Neymar puts a lot of whip into his free kick but Uruguay remain solid at the back to clear the set-piece out of the area. Oscar Tabarez's men are drilled pretty well in defence, it'll require some invention by the Brazilians to breach it.
20'
The first Uruguayan booking of the match goes to Cavani for an extremely cynical grab of the shirt on Neymar down the left-hand side. Brazil get the free kick in a really useful position.
18'
After a slightly lacklustre opening, the Selecao now appear to be looking a lot more fluent in their attacking play, and the crowd are loving it! When will we see that opening goal, though?!
16'
It certainly seems as if that penalty save has given the Brazilians the impetus go forward and search for the opening goal. That miss could prove to be so, so costly for Uruguay!
15'
Kris Voakes: "What an absolute explosion of noise that was! The Mineirao celebrated Julio Cesar's penalty save almost as though it had won a World Cup. What an injection that could give the home side. The noise here is unbelievable!"
14'
Penalty saved by Júlio César!
JULIO CESAR SAVES THE PENALTY!!!! The stadium erupts as the Brazil 'keeper stretches out a left hand to turn Diego Forlan's penalty round the post! What a save!
13'
David Luiz gets yellow.
Penalty kick to Uruguay!! David Luiz hauls down Diego Lugano inside the box as the ball is swung in from a corner kick! Yellow card to the Chelsea man!
11'
Cristian Rodriguez has had the best of starts to the match. The Atletico Madrid man has been caught in possession two or three times when a Uruguay counterattack looked imminent.
9'
In the group stage, Brazil came flying out of the blocks in every match, and registered early goals too. But tonight there seems to be a touch of nerves out there. Let's hope they calm down, it hasn't been a particularly electrifying game so far.
7'
Surprisingly, there's not been a lot of midfield play so far. Both teams have opted to clip the ball up top but neither set of striker has managed to hold-up the ball particularly well. A patchy opening to the match.
6'
A small break in play at the moment as there seems to be a problem with the ball, but a replacement swiftly comes, and the game continues.
5'
Superb defensive clearance from Lugano! Dani Alves bursts down the right-hand side and curls a cross deep into the box, but the Uruguay captain was on hand to bravely head out of the danger zone.
4'
Uruguay get the first corner of the game. Forlan whips the set-piece in looking for Cavani at the near post but Thiago Silva is there to bullet a header out of the box. The hosts look to counterattack.
3'
Good pressing from Diego Forlan. The ball is smashed up top and David Luiz is put under pressure by the former Atletico Madrid man, forcing a throw-in to Uruguay deep in Brazilian territory.
2'
Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has promised to attack Brazil tonight. Let's see how his team's tactics play out in the early stages.
1'
We are under way in Belo Horizonte! I think we are in for a cracker!
I'm Martin Macdonald, and I'll be taking you through the action this evening!
TEAM NEWS.
Brazil (4-2-3-1): Julio Cesar; Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Marcelo; Paulinho, Luiz Gustavo; Hulk, Oscar, Neymar; Fred
The Selecao reached this stage after topping Group A, and their South American neighbours progressed to the semi-final after coming second in Group B behind Spain.
Brazil have been spectacular in their approach to the game in the tournamemt so far, with Neymar in particular lighting up the group stage with a few mesmerising performances.
Uruguay, on the other hand, are perhaps yet to get into their top gear, despite a 8-0 win over group minnows, Tahiti.
However, Oscar Tabarez has chosen an extremely attacking line-up tonight, with Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani, and Diego Forlan featuring up top. Will they find their feet against the hosts of the tournament tonight? A tasty encounter is in store folks!
How about some mind-melting pre-match stats!?
Brazil are on a four-match winning run and are unbeaten in their last nine, and have won their last two encounters with Uruguay, including a 4-0 thumping in a World Cup qualifier in June 2009.
Uruguay have won four of their last five international fixtures, but have registered just one victory in their last seven encounters against South American opponent.
It is 63 years since Uruguay's famous 'Maracanazo' victory, when they defeated hosts Brazil 2-1 in the World Cup final of 1950. Is there any chance of a repeat tonight?
Kris Voakes, Goal's Correspondent in Belo Horizonte: "There's now a huge percentage of the stadium's grey seats covered in yellow, with the home support looking set to pack the Mineirao. There were huge cheers for Fred and Neymar as the team was announced. With three goals between them in the win over Italy, much is expected of them again this afternoon. A couple of Brazil fans to my right have shark balloons with them, causing a few funny looks from their compatriots around them!"
It really is a sensational atmosphere tonight! You'll be lucky to spot a Uruguay fan out there, It's a sea of green and yellow!
The teams have took to the field now, and we are almost ready for the national anthems!
However, before the game, we have a relatively odd ritual. The captains of both sides, Thiago Silva and Diego Lugano, are taking to the microphone to speak against discrimination. Can't recall every seeing anything like that before!
The Brazil national anthem now! And wow! The stadium has just exploded!
We are approaching kick-off!
Kris Voakes: ""That was amazing. When the music stopped and the crowd and team continued to sing the Brazilian national anthem it felt as though the few neutrals hear had gatecrashed a private moment!"
Half time in the Mineirao. It's not been the most scintillating match of the Confederations Cup so far, and Brazil have been extremely far from their best. However, Julio Cesar's penalty save from Diego Forlan and Fred's late half time opener have saw the Selecao go into the break one up.
From Goal's Brazil Edition, Matheus Harb: The protests outside the stadium have escalated. The latest reports are that the police started throwing teargas and flash bombs into the crowd, which is estimated at 50,000 people."
Full time in Belo Horizonte! Brazil are through to the final of the Confederations Cup!
