Queens Park Rangers vs. Newcastle United  1 - 2

General Game Stats Chart

Minute   Description
90' +1 Oof! That nearly took the roof off at Loftus Road. Townsend reacts quickest to a blocked Taarabt shot and produces a vicious, dipping drive that only just clears the cross-bar. Steve Harper was not saving that but Newcastle survive.
90' Three minutes of stoppage time added at Loftus Road.
88' Is that QPR's big chance? Derry, Fabio and Townsend combine well with some slick passing before a cross is well-collected inside the six-yard box by Zamora, who turns Coloccini brilliantly, but then blazes over the top of the bar. That wasn't even close and that could just about be that.
87' QPR are trying but their attacks seem rather aimless at the moment. There's no direction to their passing and Newcastle look just as comfortable as they were with 11 men defensively.
85' A quickfire Newcastle break sees Papiss Cisse take aim from all of 40 yards. He's certainly capable, as he's shown us all before but this time his effort, rather like his performance today, lacks conviction and is effectively a back-pass to Green.
84' A. Taarabt enters the game and replaces J. Hoilett.
83' So Newcastle now have to play out the last 10 minutes or so with 10 men if they are to hold onto all three points. There is certainly a positive atmosphere coming from the stands at Loftus Road now as they will their side to take at least a point from this, their final home match as a Premier League club. Adel Taarabt is coming on for QPR in place of Junior Hoilett.
82' S. Harper enters the game and replaces H. Ben Arfa.
81' R. Elliot gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
Absolutely typical! I've just praised him and then he's got and got himself sent off! An innocuous ball over the top is gathered in by Elliot outside of the box under pressure from Loic Remy and having been booked earlier in the afternoon, the Newcastle keeper is now sent off. Veteran deputy Steve Harper is coming on in place of Ben Arfa to take his place between the sticks.
78' G. Obertan enters the game and replaces Y. Gouffran.
Credit to Rob Elliot. The Newcastle goalie has been struggling all afternoon with a knock picked up after a robust challenge from Stephane Mbia in the first-half but the former Charlton man has stayed out there and when called upon, has been extremely competent. Just over 10 minutes to go now before it's lights out at Loftus Road as far as the Premier League is concerned.
