Acerbi is teed up and drives towards Handanovic's near post, but it drifts wide for an Inter goal kick.
90' +3
A free kick for Chievo around 30 yards out in the dying embers. Surely too late now?
90' +2
D. Stanković gets yellow.
90' +1
Chievo are refusing to go down without a fight as Thereau finds himself in space from 25 yards. He turns and fires at the Inter goal, but sees his effort rise over the crossbar.
90'
And there looks set to be four minutes of added time here at the San Siro.
88'
Both Palacio and Cassano are on the ground, but it looks to be nothing more than cramp.
86'
Last few minutes ticking by now for both teams. Inter again happy to sit back and see this out, but are able to choke out any Chievo attack. I say that; the visitors have just won a corner.
85'
E. Schelotto enters the game and replaces Z. Kuzmanović.
84'
I say that, Thereau puts in a poor ball and can't beat the first man as Inter clear.
83'
Any form of fight Chievo had in the first half has certainly dispersed. However, they win a free kick in a dangerous location and a goal here will set up a tense finish.
Minute
Description
81'
Kuzmanovic puts in a tired through ball for Cassano and Chievo clear. He should've been substituted for Stankovic, not Cambiasso in my opinion.
79'
How this isn't four, I'll never know. Cassano is picked out by by Gargano with an inch perfect pass. He plays across to Alvarez, whose flick splits the Chievo back line open. It's Nagatomo on the end of the ball, but it's too close to Puggioni. The 'keeper recovers quickly to then deny Palacio, before the Argentine sees a second effort blocked. Inter keep up the pressure, but Chievo eventually clear with Alvarez set to release the Kracken on the penalty spot.
78'
Bar any goals in this, Stankovic receives the loudest applause of the night as he makes his first appearance of the season for Inter.
76'
S. Pellissier enters the game and replaces A. Paloschi.
D. Stanković enters the game and replaces E. Cambiasso.
The ball drops to Dainelli, who goes for goal. Nagatomo blocks however and Inter counter. The ball finds its way to substitute Alvarez on the left side of the goal. However, his effort is turned behind by Puggioni for a corner.
75'
That spurred the visitors into action as a free flowing move results in a corner for Chievo after Nagatomo puts Luciano's cross behind for a corner.
73'
A mix up in the Chievo defence results in an Inter throw in deep in opposition territory. Lackadaisical play from the visitors as they look to drag themselves back into this encounter. With passing like that, they may as well roll over and admit defeat.
71'
Paloschi's first contribution is to flick on a Luciano pass for Thereau. He picks up the ball on the byline, but his cross is overhit and swings out of play for a goal kick.
70'
Luciano enters the game and replaces F. Seymour.
69'
The game has slowed somewhat now as Inter look to see this game out. One Chievo goal could change that however as we enter the 70th minute.
67'
Meanwhile, tonight is Zanetti's 594th Inter appearance and it draws him level in the record books with former goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca.
65'
R. Álvarez enters the game and replaces D. Milito.
A little under the midway point of the second half and Inter showing no signs of throwing this lead away. A fourth, however, would guarantee the three points.
64'
N. Spyropoulos enters the game and replaces I. Cofie.
63'
Thereau works a decent opening onto his right foot, but it's blocked by Zanetti and Inter clear.
62'
Zanetti again pushes forward and delivers a teasing cross to the back post. However, it's put behind for an Inter corner. Hard to believe the Argentine is 39. Meanwhile, Chievo clear the ensuing danger.
61'
Could easily have been 4-1 to Inter as Palacio is picked out by Cassano across the park. The Argentine has time to pick his spot, but he gets under the ball too much and his curling effort drifts over the crossbar for a Chievo goal kick.
60'
And Chievo have a free kick around 40 yards out and they've been dangerous from set pieces this game. However, Stramaccioni must've laid into them at half time as the hosts manage to clear.
58'
Cassano is expertly picked out by Palacio on the left. The Italian pushes forward menacingly, waiting for the run of the Argentine. The former rolls into the latter, but Palacio can't quite stretch far enough to reach the ball.
56'
Ball played over the top for Milito, but it's too close to Puggioni and the Chievo 'keeper can gather.
54'
Chievo have been very unlucky in this game, but there is the worry they'll be on the wrong end of a cricket score if they push for half the deficit.
52'
Just after writing then, Puggioni was forced into a double save, first from Palacio then a follow up from Nagatomo.
51'
That's a massive blow to Chievo, who had started the second half to stronger of the two sides. Inter will look to get into their stride now and put this game to bed, however.
50'
D. Milito has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by E. Cambiasso.
Good work on the Inter right side from Zanetti. He plays into Cambiasso, but he's closed down and opts to pass. He picks out Milito just inside the 18 yard box and the striker turns and shoots into the far corner of Puggioni's goal.
49'
Nagatomo and Cassano link up will on the left as the latter pulls back for Cambiasso. However, the ball is robbed off the Argentine's foot a second before he pulled the trigger.
48'
It's Chievo once again that have started the half the stronger with the early running. Inter are happy again to soak up the pressure and look to penalise the visitors on the counter.
46'
And it's Inter who get us underway for the second half.
45'
Interlinking play between Nagatomo, Cassano and Milito, but the former has move into an offside position and play is rightfully stopped for a Chievo free kick. There will also be two minutes of added time at the end of the 45.
44'
Milito draws a foul around the halfway line as Inter look to see this out until half time.
42'
Nice spell of pressure by Inter, unnecessarily brought on following a poor header by Acerbi. Cambiasso picks up the ball on the right, but Chievo come away with possession and are straight down the other end to attack.
40'
Hetemaj believes he's won a penalty after going down in the Inter box. However, the referee believes he's gone down too easily under the Cambiasso challenge and play is rightfully waved on.
39'
Zanetti acts like a man half his age and breaks down to the right in stunning fashion, but his cross is too close to Puggioni claims and holds.
37'
And it's Gargano that takes. He gets the ball over the wall expertly and he strikes the post. If Palacio has been on his toes, it could easily have been 3-1, but Chievo clear for a corner. Superb effort from the Uruguayan.
36'
And Inter win a free kick around the 25 yard mark. Dangerous defending from Chievo led to that and Cassano will undoubtedly fancy this.
35'
Frantic stuff at the San Siro now as both teams appear to have completely forgotten how to defend.
33'
And it's a Chievo corner now as Hetemaj wins a corner following a good tackle by Ranocchia.
32'
Palacio looks to be played in on the right, but the ball over the top is too powerful for the Argentine and Chievo can breathe a sigh of relief as the ball rolls for a goal kick.
31'
Cassano delivers again for Ranocchia, but Chievo can just about get the ball away and win a free kick to alleviate the pressure.
30'
Cassano delivers and Ranocchia is the target again, but Chievo can clear, albeit, temporarily and Inter win another corner.
29'
End to end stuff here. A Chievo free kick is punched clear by Handanovic and Inter counter. Cassano brings the ball forward into opposition territory and is winged by Gargano. However, his effort isn't the best and Puggioni saves for a corner.
28'
A. Ranocchia gets yellow.
Inter's renewed pressure following the Chievo equaliser has paid off. They're back into fourth at the moment.
26'
A. Ranocchia has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by A. Cassano.
The Chievo defence deal with a corner, only hand them a second one. Cassano delivers and picks out Ranocchia on the edge of the box. The powerful Italian smashes a header into the top corner.
25'
A superb save from Puggioni. Cambiasso breaks into the 18 yard box and is picked out by Cassano with a superb through ball. The Argentine looks to fire under the Chievo 'keeper, who atones for his earlier mistake to deflect the ball over the bar for a corner.
24'
Inter have awoken once again following the goal. They were comfortable up until the equaliser, but there is evidently more urgency in their play.
23'
And it's level again at the San Siro and it's hard to say Chievo don't deserve that.
21'
L. Rigoni has scored a goal for Chievo! Assist by B. Jokić.
Jokic's cross is deflected into the 18-yard box and Rigoni is able to power his header to the floor and under Handanovic, with Juan and Ranocchia having been left flat-footed by the unexpected deviation.
20'
Acerbi strides forward from defence and forces a throw in off Zanetti deep in Inter territory.
19'
Inter free kick from distance as Cassano aims to the back post. However, Chievo are organised are clear the danger, of which there was little in the first place.
18'
L. Rigoni gets yellow.
17'
Very scrappy at the moment with Inter happy to soak up the pressure and counter Chievo.
15'
Chievo now struggling to find some rhythm after a blistering start to the encounter. The visitors needs to get Cofie on the ball again, with the midfielder central to their creative influence early on.
13'
Inter appear to have settled after a slow start in the encounter. The goal settled some nerves and the hosts are beginning to enjoy the possession.
11'
Kuzmanovic concedes a free kick in a dangerous position and Thereau delivers an inch perfect ball to the back post. Acerbi looks offside, but there's no flag and the defender heads just wide.
10'
Chievo are really looking to force their way back into the game, but a ball for Thereau has too much on it and the ball rolls out for a throw in.
9'
Nagatomo picks up the ball on the left and looks to deliver towards the penalty spot, but Dainelli is on hand to clear away from danger.
7'
Inter look to alleviate the pressure and the ball is passed low to Milito. However, a coming together between the Argentine and Acerbi is deemed a foul by referee Guida and he awards a free kick to the hosts.
5'
Chievo may've gone a goal down early, but they're certainly still looking for a quick response as Seymour drags an effort from the edge of the area wide of the near post.
4'
And as things currently stand, Inter are heading into fourth place.
2'
A. Cassano has scored a goal for Inter Milan!
The visitors aren't overawed by the occasion and they've made a very confident start at the San Siro. However, it's Inter to make a fine response as Zanetti wins a corner.
Ranocchia is picked out at the back post by Cassano, but his header rebounds of Juan and Chievo clear. However, the ball finds its way back to the Inter striker, who drives a low ball across goal. Puggioni misjudges and allows the ball to slip under him and into the back of the net.
1'
And it will be Chievo to kick us off and we're underway.
