Good afternoon ladies and gents! Welcome to Goal.com's play-by-play coverage of Chelsea vs Liverpool from Stamford Bridge LIVE!
Glen Johnson and Jamie Carragher return to Liverpool's starting line-up, as Brendan Rodgers opts for three at the back with Jose Enrique and Johnson deployed as wing-backs. Andre Wisdom continues as one of the back three with Martin Skrtel ruled out with illness.
David Luiz takes to Twitter to explain his absence from the team today: "I'm sad! I wanted to play today, but I can't because of a tonsillitis. Come on Chelsea, you have my support!"
Liverpool have dominated this fixture for the past two seasons, winning four out of four. If Brendan Rodgers can extend that impressive record today, it could be a landmark result and could kick start his fledgling Anfield revolution.
It's all change in the Chelsea defence. David Luiz and Ashley Cole miss out altogether and Gary Cahill drops to the bench. In come John Terry, David Azpilicueta and Ryan Bertrand, with Ivanovic shifting to centre-back.
This fixture last season was all about Fernando Torres and how he would do against his former side. A year on and the focus has shifted to Luiz Suarez. The Uruguayan has the ability to exhilarate and infuriate in equal measure, and seems to have taken over from Steven Gerrard as the main man at Anfield.
A win for Chelsea would take them back into second place, a point ahead of Manchester City and a point behind Manchester United. Liverpool currently sit in 13th; three points for the them could take them into the top half.
HALF-TIME: Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool
John Terry's header separates the two sides at the break. Mata and Oscar both wasted great chances to further Chelsea's lead. Liverpool have enjoyed plenty of possession but have been very poor in the final third. The injury to Terry will give Brendan Rodgers hope that his side can turn this around.
FULL-TIME: Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool
Luis Suarez's second half header cancelled out John Terry's early goal to give Brendan Rodgers a valuable point away at Chelsea. The hosts had chances to extend their lead through Oscar and Mata but failed to find the finishes needed. Liverpool had their own chances to win the game late on, so a draw is perhaps a fair result.
