Simeone happy with theatrical Spanish football
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone says watching football in Spain is a far more pleasant experience than in Argentina.
The former midfielder was dismissive over claims that some fans are often destructive and some chants are too offensive towards players due to the nature of the game in his homeland.
"Aggression? Do you know what it is like in Argentina? Here going to football is like going to the theatre. This is Disney," he told Marca.
Simeone went on to rule out the possibility of his team underestimating Copa del Rey opponents Real Jaen on Wednesday as they look to progress in the tournament.
"This competition is a tournament with history for Atletico. We will take care and give it the respect it deserves," he said.
"We do it with deeds and not with words, we will do our talking on the pitch. Jaen are not a rival to be underestimated and we will take the game as the above."
Atletico are second in La Liga with only goal difference separating them from leaders Barcelona.
