The strength of the visitors is all the more evident, considering that they have not even played at the level they were at on Tuesday in the Champions League. Four clear chances, and four well taken goals.
90' +1
Into three added minutes at Stade Armand Cesari.
90'
Z. Ibrahimović has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by Nenê.
GOAL! Ibrahimovic makes it 4-0! A hint of offside, but Ibracadabra as he is more affectionately known beats the defence, and sweeps the ball past Novaes. Bastia's poor streak continues!
89'
Nene launches a speculative shot goalwards, curling towards the top corner, but the attempt is curtailed by a wonderful block by Harek, who hasn't done much wrong in this game.
87'
SIRIGU! An absolute peach of the save - what a fantastic stop by the Italian, with Bastia somewhat bemused. World-class, as Maoulida latches onto a low cross, shooting goalwards - and Sirigu claws it away at point-blank range. I thought it was a goal!
86'
Free-kick to Bastia on the edge of the area as Gameiro clatters into Harek. As confetti is thrown onto the pitch, we wait a few seconds for the set-piece to be taken.
KHAZRI! It's a decent take, as the midfielder curls it narrowly over the crossbar, with Sirigu watching it all the way.
84'
Nenê gets yellow.
Sixth booking of the game, and Nene's caution means it is now three apiece for either side. The Brazilian needs to calm down a little, after rushing into a number of challenges. The Bastia fans' reception isn't helping either.
83'
Good take by Sirigu, who easily negotiates a poor cross from Yatabare. Meanwhile, Bastia are down to ten men, with Sans off for treatment on a bloodied nose.
82'
Substitution by Bastia, it's their final change of the game, Anthony Modeste - who has been below-par this afternoon comes off and is replaced by Maoulida
Minute
Description
81'
T. Maoulida enters the game and replaces A. Modeste.
NENE! Wonderful save by Novaes, who was stretched. PSG were in a four-against-three situation there, with play evenly spread out to Nene on the wing. The Brazilian curls it first-time, and the goalkeeper is equal to it.
80'
Bastia have a corner, after Sirigu fails to clear the ball before it crosses the line. Once more, the hosts' strengths from set-pieces have been poor. PSG are on the break once more, and they scored from this situation just moments ago.
79'
Marchal does well to intercept a threatening ball towards Gameiro as PSG look to make it 4-0. Nene penetrates on the far side, coming in on his left foot, but the killer ball is cleared by the defender.
78'
Javier Pastore looks on from the bench, and he will almost certainly play no part in this fixture. Pastore trained individually on Friday, suffering from a knock sustained in the 4-1 win over Dynamo Kiev in midweek.
77'
Entering the final phase of play at the Stade Armand Cesari, where PSG have already sown up their third league win of the season. It's been a slow start to the Ligue 1 season, but the visitors are starting to gel.
75'
M. Bodmer enters the game and replaces M. Verratti.
Another change from Ancelotti's side - Marco Verratti caps off another decent performance, which he claimed an assist - and is replaced by Mathieu Bodmer.
74'
Substitution by PSG after going up 3-0, and it's Jeremy Menez, scorer of the first goal, to be replaced by Kevin Gameiro.
72'
B. Matuidi has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by Nenê.
K. Gameiro enters the game and replaces J. Ménez.
Thauvin really imposing himself in this match, as he attempts to break free of the five red shirts that encircle him. Meanwhile, the visitors are on the break.
GOAL! MATUIDI! It's 3-0! It's another through ball which opens space up in the hosts' defence, as Matuidi races through past the centre-backs and shoots low under Novaes. PSG have rarely been out of second gear!
71'
THAUVIN! He's only just come on, and he forces Sirigu into a decent save for a corner. Thauvin holds off the challenge of Verratti and then Sakho to find space to shoot, and it was a decent hit.
70'
Great stop by Novaes, as Bastia are stretched under a furious counter-attacking move by the visitors. Ibrahimovic picks out Nene on the wing, and after the Brazilian reciprocates the favour, the goalkeeper launches into a diving save.
69'
IBRAHIMOVIC! Very close to making it 3-0. It's an intricate through ball from the wing, which the Swede latches onto, and after negotiating a way past Novaes, he fires wide at an acute angle.
68'
J. Palmieri enters the game and replaces G. Angoula.
F. Thauvin enters the game and replaces Y. Cahuzac.
Double change for Bastia: Cahuzac departs, as does Gael Angoula. Julian Palmieri is on the field of play. Florian Thauvin also comes on.
67'
Khazri has been the biggest threat for PSG to contend with, as he surges down the left wing in search of Yatabare, who fails to get close to the ball under pressure from Mamadou Sakho
66'
Just under 25 minutes left to play, and Paris Saint-Germain lead very comfortably at 2-0, thanks to Menez and Ibrahimovic's first-half goals.
65'
Woah, bit of a dive there by Nene, who theatrically goes down after a challenge by Harek. He quickly gets up too once the set-piece is given.
63'
Another free-kick for the hosts, after Chantome concedes a free-kick. The defenders are up for this one, but the delivery is easily cleared by Thiago Silva. Bastia pressing.
62'
Arguably, Bastia's best chance of the game that, and it's gone begging. Salvatore Sirigu has had nothing much to do since suffering a head wound after just 30 seconds. PSG must be wary of the counter attack threat the hosts pose.
61'
CHOPLIN! Oh, should've scored - he should've scored. Fantastic delivery from Rothen on the far side from the corner, and the defender beats Matuidi in the air, but it's flashed wide.
60'
Nasty challenge from Angoula on Sakho, who flies to the ground. Bastia becoming much more prevalent in this game.
58'
Paris Saint-Germain have carved open the visitors defence once more, as Ibrahimovic picks out Menez on the far side, but the goalscorer cannot control the ball travelling at a pace. Choplin clears accordingly.
56'
The home fans, who have not lost any of their voice here, have become boisterous as Bastia are awarded a free-kick about 30 metres out. Khazri is over this one.
55'
The referee goes to his assistant, who informs him of the situation, and it's JUST a yellow card. The PSG man lucky to stay on during his debut.
54'
G. van der Wiel gets yellow.
Oh, something's going on off the ball. The referee stops play, with Gregory van der Wiel protesting his innocence with a Bastia player on the ground. Replays show after a challenge between van der Wiel and Rothen, the Dutchman left a foot in.
53'
Absolutely delightful pass from Khazri to find Modeste in space, and ahead of Thiago Silva with just one touch. The move scuppers as the former Blackburn and Bordeaux striker lets the ball run out of play.
51'
Ibrahimovic in trouble for a late challenge on Sylvain Marchal who tells the Swede to calm down. Referee Ennjimi, who gave a lecture to Ibrahimovic before the second half kicked off, ticks him off this time.
49'
Half-chance from PSG, as Menez wonderfully produces a through ball which gets in behind of Marchal, but ahead of Ibrahimovic, as Novaes comes to collect.
48'
Delightful long ball from Rothen deep in his own half to locate Modeste up at the other end. The striker doesn't jump well to reach it, and he is beaten aerially by the imposing figure of Thiago Silva.
47'
Almost the perfect start from Bastia, as Yatabare bombs down the left flank past Thiago Silva, before being pulled back by the referee for the infringement on the Brazilian.
Surprising decision by the referee to award a goal-kick, after Cahuzac dribbled past Van der Wiel, with the ball coming off the Netherlands international last. The hosts are on top though.
46'
Underway in the second half, and it's PSG in their third kit attacking from left to right.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: Bastia 0-2 Paris Saint-Germain.
45'
Modeste aiming to chase down a loose ball, given away by Matuidi, but is unsuccessful, as PSG wind down the time in their own half.
44'
Z. Ibrahimović gets yellow.
We have one minute signalled at the end of the first half.
43'
S. Yatabaré gets yellow.
Oh, what's going on here? Angoula is angry at Ibrahimovic, and after saying something in his ear, we have a mini-altercation. Angoula is led away by his team-mates, and Ibra is booked!
42'
The Bastia fans well and truly silenced here in Furiani, as the hosts go 2-0 down. Both of their goals have been poor to concede. No wonder they have conceded so many.
Sambou Yatabare gets booked for a late tackle by the referee, bringing swift boos from the home faithful.
40'
Z. Ibrahimović has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by M. Verratti.
GOOAAL! IT'S 2-0! Ibrahimovic bags his sixth goal in Ligue 1, with a well taken finish. After that miss, Bastia fail to clear their lines and its Verratti who produces a delicate chip to find Ibrahimovic, and one deft touch takes it away from Novaes and into the net!
39'
IBRAHIMOVIC! Oh, big miss that. Lovely move again from Menez who comes in centrally, before teeing up Nene. The Brazilian crosses in, but Ibra on the backheel slides it narrowly wide.
38'
Bit of a wasteful control by Ibrahimovic, who has been slightly isolated and disconnected in this game so far. Delivery in from Nene on the wing is touched on by Harek, taking the control away from the big Swede.
36'
Verratti escapes the clutches of Cahuzac in midfield, feeding Chantome who nonchalantly knocks the ball back to defence. Throw-in to PSG after Yatabare intercepts from Armand.
35'
Yatabare has been rather impressive this afternoon for the hosts, despite his inability to link up with the isolated Anthony Modeste. His shot from distance flies over the bar.
33'
M. Sakho gets yellow.
Y. Cahuzac gets yellow.
Ibrahimovic shirt-pulled by Sans, although the referee makes little of it. Ibra himself makes little of it, but has a chance - before Choplin tracks back to intercept.
32'
First yellow card of the game, and it's for PSG captain Mamadou Sakho, for an incident involving Cahuzac. Sakho is under pressure for his place these days, with Brazilian duo Alex and Thiago Silva ahead in the pecking order.
31'
KHAZRI! Decent free-kick from the number 10, and it's a decent take by Sirigu who palms it away out of the top corner. In fact, that's an understatement, it was a wonderful save!
29'
Break in play here as referee Said Ennijimi calls Marco Verratti and reprimand him. Bastia have a free-kick, conceded by Chantome. 28 yards out.
27'
Bit of a lull here at the Stade Armand Cesari, as PSG easily shut out the hosts' somewhat predictable play. But Bastia have won a corner for the efforts after good by Yatabare.
25'
Speculative cross from the right by Yatabare, who evades the challenge of Gregory van der Wiel, is easily headed by Sylvain Armand into the arms of Sirigu.
24'
Chantome does well to race onto a loose ball after a deflection by Khazri in the opposite half. Verratti keeps shape as les Parisiens situate play down the left side. It meekly goes out for a throw-in.
22'
Bastia have a somewhat weak penalty appeal turned down as Modeste goes to ground under the challenge of the returning Mamadou Sakho. The hosts' exuberant fans howl in fury, but the referee doesn't even flinch.
21'
Free-kick handed bastia's way, as Choplin goes down under the challenge of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
20'
Twenty minutes gone in this Ligue 1 encounter, and it's PSG who lead 1-0 in this encounter, thanks to Jeremy Menez's sixth minute goal after some very questionable defending.
19'
Signs of some lapses in concentration by Paris Saint-Germain, as passes become lazy and wayward. Yatabare and Angoula intercept easily, but they can't quite fashion an attacking chance.
18'
MODESTE! Half-chance in all seriousness, but again the willingness for the hosts to pick out the striker to instigate goalscoring opportunities. Yatabare dispossesses van der Wiel, with Rothen crossing deep for the striker, but he can't get a clean connection on the header.
17'
MATUIDI! Oh, he should've done better. A lovely flowing move from the visitors sees Verratti diagonally find Nene on the wing. The Brazilian locates Ibrahimovic with a cross, before a head-down towards Matuidi is scooped well over the bar. Should've been 2-0.
16'
Carlo Ancelotti's men easily settling into their usual rhythm at Stade Armand Cesari, gently knocking the ball around and waiting for the space to present itself. Here they are on the attack once more.
14'
Things becoming somewhat physical here, as Angoula lunges in on Nene pretty late. Bastia meanwhile are deploying some sort of gung-ho attack mindframe, looking to feed Modeste at every opportunity.
13'
Cahuzac is penalised for a foul on Verratti, who was looking to utilize some space in what is becoming an open midfield.
12'
Early set-piece attempts from the hosts have been below-par. Cahuzac's delivery from the far side fails to find anyone, as it harmlessly goes out for a goal-kick.
11'
KHAZRI! Fine save by Sirigu. The midfielder darts past his marker and runs into space, before shooting low and hard - Sirigu had to be at his fullest to get that away. Superb attempt. Corner.
10'
Bastia surge forward in numbers with Yatabare pulling the strings in midfield. He attempts a long-range effort from distance, but it's an easy take for Sirigu.
9'
Within seconds, the tempo of the match has swung in favour of the opposition as Bastia are confined to their own half. Verratti attempts to pick out Nene, but Marchal intercepts.
7'
It was a very poor goal to concede as that was virtually PSG's first foray into the opposition half. Sans' missed clearance allowed Ibrahimovic in. Bastia have now conceded a league-high 13 goals.
6'
J. Ménez has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by Z. Ibrahimović.
GOAAL! We have the opener, and from Bastia's point of view, it's a very poor one to concede. Nene crosses deep in towards Menez, but a poor clearance allows Ibrahimovic to square for the ex-Roma star who fires it in from close range. 1-0.
5'
Free-kick PSG as Yatabare clatters into Ibrahimovic, who immediately gets up. Nene is over this free-kick.
4'
Another corner as the first one is troublesome for the hosts. It's whipped in towards Sans, whose volley is blocked by Sakho. It's again cleared under pressure by Thiago Silva.
It's all been Bastia so far at this early stage, as Jerome Rothen - who notched more than 130 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG - pings a delicate cross towards Modeste, but he fails to connect.
3'
Great early pace from Bastia, and the home fans are making for an impressive atmosphere as another firecracker goes off. Fethi Harek races on the left wing, and his cross is cut out by Van der Wiel. Corner.
2'
Sirigu is still being attended to, as blood pours from his head. That was after just 30 seconds of play. the Italy international maintains that he is fine, and play is set to resume.
1'
WE ARE UNDERWAY in Furiani - Bastia in blue, PSG in red. Said Ennijimi gets us started.
WHAT A FAST START! From the kick-off, the ball is passed to Wahib Khazri, who races down the right flank in space, his low cross is intended for Modeste who clatters into Sirigu. The goalkeeper needs some attention here.
Hello, and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE! text commentary from Ligue 1. This afternoon's encounter sees promoted side SC Bastia host Paris Saint-Germain from the Stade Armand Cesari on the island of Corsica. Team News shortly.
First of all, let me introduce myself. I'm Mohammed Ali, and I'll be guiding you through today's events for the next two hours. Don't forget to use Twitter to send us your predictions, musings and comments and tell me what you think throughout the 90 minutes - the handle is @mohammedali_93.
Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to secure three consecutive league wins for the first time this season, having already pushed Lille (2-1) and Toulouse (2-0) to the wayside in recent weeks. Carlo Ancelotti's lavishly-assembled side are hitting top gear at just the right time, with Tuesday's 4-1 Champions League demolition of Dynamo Kiev showing Nasser al-Khelaifi and the rest of the PSG hierarchy the type of peformance that they were hoping for.
Thiago Silva made his PSG debut at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday, capping his brilliant performance with a well-taken goal. Javier Pastore and Zlatan Ibrahimovic also netted, just as they did against Toulouse last week, with Alex bagging the other. All four are in contention for a starting berth.
Bastia meanwhile, have seen their early August form evaporate. Frederic Hantz's men started the new Ligue 1 season with two wins out of two, and briefly joining the likes of Marseille, Lyon and Bordeaux at the top. Since then, the Corsican side have lost all three encounters, and shipping 12 goals in total - the worst in the division. The visit of PSG hardly comes at the right time, does it?
A few statistics about the history of this fixture: There have been 24 top-flight meetings between the pair, SC Bastia winning ten of them with PSG triumphing on nine occasions. PSG won the last Ligue 1 meeting in Corsica, coming out on top 2-1 in Week 9 of the 2004-05 season. PSG have won four times on their last six visits, losing just once. Bastia's last home win over PSG came in Week 26 of the 2002-03 campaign thanks to Florian Maurice's goal (37'). PSG finished the match with nine men after Ronaldinho (86') and Parralo Cristobal (87') were sent off.
Carlo Ancelotti's side appear good value to consolidate their unbeaten league record. It has been nine games since Les Parisiens have suffered defeat - to Lille in April, a result which ultimately scuppered their title hopes - with the side winning six and drawing three since. A defeat for Bastia meanwhile, will see them endure their worst run of form in any competition since 2008, and in league action since 2004. No pressure then.
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN: (4-3-2-1) Sirigu - Van der Wiel, Thiago Silva, Sakho, Armand - Chantôme, Verratti, Matuidi - Menez, Ibrahimovic, Nene. Substitutes: Douchez, Alex Maxwell, Jallet, Bodmer, Pastore, Gameiro.
TEAM NEWS
Gregory van der Wiel makes his PSG debut, after Christophe Jallet is rested by Carlo Ancelotti. Nene replaces Javier Pastore, named among the bench, with Thiago Silva marking his 28th birthday with his first Ligue 1 appearance. Mamadou Sakho and Sylvain Armand are both handed starts. For Bastia, Wahib Khazri - the assist leader in the league - is handed a starting berth, with Hantz ringing the changes - five starters are on the bench.
The players emerge to rapturous applause and confetti on the Corsican isand and you can feel a sense of occasion. Kick-off is imminent.
A minute's silence before we begin. Which is impeccably observed.
Decent half by Carlo Ancelotti's side who are set to go ten league games unbeaten. Frederic Hantz's hosts have been rather poor in defence, given the way they capitulated to allow Jeremy Menez to score the easiest of openers, and Ibrahimovic continuing his goal streak in Ligue 1. At half-time, it's 2-0.
Last night's Ligue 1 action meanwhile saw champions Montpellier continue their poor form with a 1-1 draw against Saint-Etienne. As it stands, PSG are seven points clear of Rene Girard's men.
The players have returned to the field of play for the second half, which is now seconds away.
That's it from Corsica this evening, as the PSG juggernaut continues with a solid performance. Join me again for more Ligue 1 coverage next week.
