I agree, that was the worst team management I ever saw. Toni wa the lone striker and always had 2 defenders marking him. Italy's defense was superb but the offense had no sting. Donadoni blew it, he should have had delPiero and Camoronesi in there sooner as the attacking midfielders. Everyone was focusing on Toni.

I agree that Italy played 4-5-1 with Toni as the lone striker. It does not take a rocket scietist to see that it did not work with the spanking they got from Holland and a tie with Romania. Donadoni should have another formation playing or modify the current with a little more aggressive attacking midfielders against Spain. I did not know what Aqualini was doing there. My philosophy is the best defense is a great offense. But, I am not an international coach nor will I ever be....
