Absolutely, time to show why Villareal paid the MLS $10 million for you, Jozy! Show them what American soccer players can do!

Actually, because of the Russian Premier League tie-breaking system, Dynamo Moscow will finish third and Amkar Perm will finish fourth and those teams will go to Champions League and Europa League, respectively.

And I can assure you that everyone besides Vladivostok are thrilled to see Vladivostok relegated. No more seven-hour flights for next season! |

At this rate, every soccer game in Europe will be played in empty stadiums within five years. When will European soccer fans get it? It seems like they never get it. You still see all this nonsense from fans. Coins are the smallest problem; I've seen ignited flares thrown onto pitches before. Honestly, are you trying to prove your idiocy? Cause you're doing a dang fine job.

Then again, soccer is a family-friendly sport in the USA, so this kind of behavior at soccer matches always disgusts me. |

Honestly, Landon Donovan is too talented to stay in the MLS for much longer. Personally, I was expecting Donovan to be NOT going to Germany due to what happened with Leverkusen, but perhaps he has changed since then. Landon Donovan is a very good player and Could probably help Bayern Munich quite a bit, although is goal numbers are a bit inflated due to the level of competition he faces in the MLS and other CONCACAF national teams.

Well, so much for Scolari's dedication to the Quadruple. Chelsea can still go for the Man U Treble.

I don't think this is a wise move. Mascherano's temper has gotten the better of him in the past. A captain needs to be calm in the face of adversity.

These guys aren't going to stay at the bottom of the Premier League for much longer. I'll tell you that right now. Whatever Redknapp is doing, it's working better than even he could have hoped.

Wow, that's quite a grudge to hold against a man in something that's probably considered no more than an exhibition tournament by most in the soccer world (someone please correct me if I am wrong about this).

According to my calculations, 24 points in 10 matches would project out to 91 or 92 points for a 38-game season. |

Yeah, a ten year ban is pretty much a death sentence for your soccer career. And I don't see how you can appeal this one. When you kick a referee, I don't care what your excuse is. Even if you think the ref has put money down against you, you need to take it up with the proper authorities (usually the local or national FA). You can't be a vigilante and take the law into your own hands.

Argentina is too good to finish any less than fourth in CONMEBOL. I don't know when Paraguay got so good, but both Brazil and Argentina will be going to South Africa.
on Sceptical Pele wishes Maradona well (3)
Pele is a very smart man, and I like him. His warning here applies not just to soccer, but to sports in general. You often see great players (like Ted Williams and Isaiah Thomas) become mediocre at best coaches. The transition from player to manager is not an easy one, it seems. |
