Norwich City manager Chris Hughton believes Yaya Toure could have been given a red card for kicking out at striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
The Manchester City midfielder could face retrospective action from the Football Association after he was involved in an altercation with the Dutchman on Saturday that seemingly went unnoticed by officials.
Hughton played down the significance of the incident, choosing instead to focus on his side's exemplary performance in the 0-0 draw at Carrow Road, but he did feel Toure had aimed a kick.
"It did go unnoticed and there was no doubt there was a slight kick out," he said.
"There was certainly something, but whether that was enough for a red card, then that is for the referee (Jonathan Moss) to decide on.
"It was a minimal incident in the game, and the bigger factor was it was a good team performance by us."
Norwich remain embroiled in a relegation battle and currently sit 16th in the Premier League, just two points above the drop zone.
Hughton is preparing his side for a crucial encounter at fellow strugglers West Ham on Tuesday and the 55-year-old recognises it is an important opportunity to register a win.
"We don't speak about 'six-pointer' but it's a significant game," he added. "We need to make sure our approach is right."
Hughton confirmed winger Robert Snodgrass will have a late fitness test on a groin injury, while Jonas Gutierrez (calf) and Ryan Bennett (thigh) are almost certain to miss out.
