Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini believes his team's slump could continue until his strikers return to full fitness.
City failed to score for the second successive Premier League match on Saturday as Pellegrini's men drew 0-0 at Carrow Road against Norwich City to follow the 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea on Monday.
Pellegrini opted to field a forward duo of Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic, both of whom have struggled with fitness problems in recent weeks.
Edin Dzeko replaced Jovetic in the 61st minute, while Sergio Aguero missed out altogether and Pellegrini feels City may carry on stuttering for several weeks.
He said: "I was concerned about this match just like the one on Monday versus Chelsea because we have a lot of players not 100 per cent fit.
"Maybe it was a good opportunity but we are still (only) two points behind the leaders.
"They (the strikers) are not 100 perr cent fit. Dzeko had an ankle in very bad condition that is why he only played 30 minutes; Negredo has had a shoulder problem for the last three weeks, but they had to play in that condition.
"Everyone is talking about our team and scoring lots of goals, but we also concede in defence. I repeat, the hardest thing to do in football is to score goals, so the last two games are directly linked to the fitness of our strikers.
"We couldn't do it and without goals you cannot win."
Pellegrini also has injury problems in midfield as Javi Garcia and Fernandinho both missed out again, meaning Yaya Toure was deployed in a deep-lying role.
And the Chilean feels that contributed to City's prolificacy in attack.
"Yaya maybe he played a little defensive," he said.
"Maybe that is why we lost a little bit in attack as well, but that's how it is at the moment because Javi and Fernandinho are not fit, exactly the same with our strikers.
"I think maybe that is why we haven't scored in last two games."
