Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has challenged his strikers to improve in front of goal after their 0-0 draw with Manchester City.
After 25 Premier League matches, Norwich have managed to score just 19 times, with Crystal Palace (18) the only side to have mustered fewer goals in the top-flight.
Although Hughton was pleased to earn a point against title-chasing City, he feels his forwards need to capitalise on their chances after wasting three decent openings on Saturday.
"We could have [scored at least once]," he said. "It has been a difficult area of our game. We have got some clean sheets versus tough opposition, which shows a resilience and organisation in the side, but we have fallen short at the other end.
"That's what we need to address. We came in on the back of a good performance at Cardiff (in a 2-1 defeat), which should have seen us win the game.
"Today we probably had three good chances. We have to make the most of those moments."
The full-time whistle was greeted with applause and jubilation from the home support and Hughton believes that signified the fans' appreciation for Norwich attacking their more illustrious opponents.
He added: "It's a combination of a couple of things. One because we have a support here who know the game and know how good Man City are. For City to go through a game without scoring is always a big ask so I think they were conscious of that.
"I think it is more to do with the fact they saw us trying to win the game towards the end. You know you're going to have to defend for large parts against City, but they saw us trying to win with those two chances at the end that's why we got the reaction we did.
"It's difficult to play a normal game against City because (of) the way they play.
"We knew defensively we needed good shape so that's what we worked on most, but you also have to be a threat because although there are some circumstances where a team has defended most of the game and got results, it's incredibly hard to do that.
"We had to be disciplined but also to be a threat on the ball and try to keep possession. Apart from not scoring I think we got most things right."
