Roma captain Francesco Totti is set to miss the next 10 days of action after suffering a hamstring injury against Napoli on Friday.
Totti was forced off just 33 minutes into the contest, with the scores at 0-0, bit Miralem Pjanic scored twice to seal a 2-0 win and maintain Roma's 100 per cent start to the season under Rudi Garcia.
The 37-year-old has rolled back the clock this season with some outstanding displays to help propel the capital club five points clear at the top of Serie A.
With Totti having scored three and assisted another six goals in just eight appearances, Garcia will be desperate to have the attacker fit soon.
His form has even led to calls for an Italy recall at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil next year, with international coach Cesare Prandelli doing little to quieten those rumours.
A club statement read: "Francesco Totti underwent tests this morning (Monday) which identified an injury to his hamstring.
"He will be reassessed in 10 days.
"The captain has already begun his recovery program."
Roma will be out to maintain their perfect start to the campaign when they travel to Udinese on Sunday.
