Whole team behind Jol, says Bent

Martin Jol has the full backing of the entire Fulham squad, according to striker Darren Bent.

The Aston Villa loanee fired the only goal of the game as Fulham defeated Stoke City 1-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday to secure their first league victory since the opening day of the season.

Dutchman Jol had found himself under pressure after failing to beat West Brom and Cardiff City in their previous two home games.

That led to speculation that Fulham could bring his two-year tenure to an end, but Saturday's victory has earned the former Tottenham manager some breathing space.

Bent has no doubt that the 57-year-old is the right man to take the club forward and he urged the team to turn their focus to the away fixture against Crystal Palace after the international break.

"In this league you are always under pressure," Bent said.

"As soon as a couple of results go against you, you are immediately under pressure because it is a results league.

"It is probably the best league in the world and is probably the most difficult to get points. For us to get three points with the situation that we are in is massive.

"All the players are behind him. He is the right man for the job and I am sure he will be around for many years to come.

"You can only turn that faith with results, we managed to get him three points. Now we have got a two-week gap and then another massive game against Palace."
