Remy out to continue fine start

5 October 2013 11:59

Newcastle United striker Loic Remy is eager to add to his goal tally following a superb start to his career at the club.

Remy, on loan from Championship side QPR, has been in excellent form this season, scoring three goals in his first four games.

Still, despite Remy's performances in front of goal, Newcastle have slipped to consecutive 3-2 defeats against Hull City and Everton, results that have left them 16th in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has been recalled to the France national squad on the back of his form for Newcastle, but Remy feels that he can make a greater contribution.

"I feel I've been a bit unlucky not to get more," Remy told The Shields Gazette.

"I scored at Everton and then I had a good situation in front of the goal. I kicked it with my left foot.

"It was the same against Hull. When I missed, we missed out on a draw.

"It can happen sometimes, but not all the time, we can change things. We'll keep working until we're perfect.

"From a personal point of view, it's a good start.

"But I prefer the team to win and I score goals. I'm a striker, and I know my job, but we must improve."
