Osman extends Everton stay

24 May 2013 13:52

Leon Osman has signed a new contract with Everton, keeping him at the club until at least 2015.

The 32-year-old's deal was set to expire in 2014, but the club confirmed the extension on Friday.

Midfielder Osman celebrated 10 years at Goodison Park in the 2012-13 season, and also won his first caps for the England national side.

"I am delighted to have put my signature on another contract and secured another year at the club," he told the club's official website.

"I have been here since I left school. I am a player and a fan, I love coming to work every day and I am delighted that's going to continue."

The club are still searching for a new manager, after David Moyes departed to take the vacant position at Manchester United.

But Osman insisted that uncertainty over Moyes' replacement did not affect his desire to stay at Goodison Park.

"We are not quite sure what's going to happen with a manager but I am still delighted to have secured my future here at the club," Osman added.

"It's time to take the family on holiday now, enjoy it and recharge the batteries for next season."
