Jol outlines summer transfer plans

18 May 2013 14:34

Fulham manager Martin Jol has outlined his plans for the upcoming transfer window, seemingly dismissing rumours he is set to leave the club.

The London side have lost five of their last six Premier League fixtures and only avoided being pulled into a relegation battle by virtue of Wigan's inability to reel in those around them.

However, Jol is keen for the Craven Cottage outfit to do better next time, and is set to enter the market in order to ensure that is the case.

"Hopefully there are four or five players coming," he said. "We have to be creative. I'm confident we can do that.

"With Premier League players, good players, then it is a piece of cake. If not, it is a hell of a job. But I am happy.

"If no-one leaves, we need five or seven new players. We need to strengthen in different positions. It's no secret we need some alternatives when it comes to scoring.

"Now I want to consolidate as a mid-table team."

Jol has already secured the permanent signature of right-back Sascha Riether, who has been on loan at Craven Cottage this season from 2.Bundesliga side Koln.
