Morata maintains Madrid league hope

9 March 2013 13:50

Alvaro Morata remains hopeful Real Madrid can successfully defend their La Liga title, adamant Jose Mourinho's men will not give up.

The Santiago Bernabeu side trail leaders Barcelona by 13 points in third spot, yet the promising attacker remains optimistic about his side's chances of league glory.

"The team are in pretty good shape now. We've recovered some ground in La Liga. We know it will be complicated to win the league, but we're Real Madrid and we're going to keep fighting until it's over," he told the club's official website.

The striker then looked ahead to this weekend's league match against Celta de Vigo and stressed that their opponents should not be taken lightly.

"They need the points. We have to be cautious because we lost the Copa del Rey match we played there and had to fight back in the Bernabeu.

"They're certainly a team that could win and we have to be careful. They've got tremendous skill up front and it's clear that any team can beat you."
