Forlan strike sees Internacional advance

Diego Forlan fired Internacional into the Campeonato Gaucho first phase final on Sunday, as they dismissed Esportivo 2-0.

The Uruguayan veteran fired in a stunning strike from long range off his left boot, curling it home into the top left corner past a helpless Fabiano Borges in the 28th minute.

He made it a brace in the 67th minute, as Internacional booked their spot in the showpiece clash with Sao Luiz at Estadio 19 de Outubro on Sunday.

Sao Luiz advanced on Saturday, when they edged out Caxias 2-1.
