Cazorla confident of future success

22 June 2013 16:11

Santi Cazorla has tipped Arsenal to end their eight-year trophy drought next season.

The midfielder starred for Arsenal last term after arriving from Spanish outfit Malaga, scoring 12 goals and adding 12 assists in the Premier League.

The Spaniard played a key role in the club's superb end to the 2012-13 season, as Arsenal ended the campaign on the back of 11 unbeaten matches, including nine wins, a finish that saw them finish fourth in the Premier League and win themselves a place in UEFA Champions League qualifying.

And Cazorla believes the club can show that sort of form throughout next season, particularly with the potential arrivals of Gonzalo Higuain and Wayne Rooney.

"When the team does not win and we do not get the results we want, the collective confidence does drop a little and that is natural," the 28-year-old said.

"Now we have put in a spectacular run-in and you can see the difference in mentality. We have great players. I am sure we will be a better team and improve.

"This season we hope we can be even better and win trophies and the supporters can enjoy it. That is what Arsenal really wants."
